2017 Setlist Speculation Thread

They both sounded fantastic when I heard them... Here, There, and Everywhere- Philadelphia 2016:
I Will- New York 2011: Of course, his voice was in better shape in 2011...but he was doing it in a lower key even then, so I think he could still get it out easily. -
Thanks for sharing. As I already said, that song had to be my favorite of the evening I saw him play that. The way he plays it now very much suits his voice without it sounding awkward, and makes it feel personal. Let's hope he adds it back for his upcoming run of US shows. (Hoping that he'll add some dates to the west coast.)

Just thought of another awesome idea Paul should totally do: When he's up on his riser playing Blackbird, and Here Today, he should really include Little Willow. I feel like that's something the serious fans would enjoy, and perhaps he would as well. I agree with a lot of people on this discussion; about how he seems to skim over his middle aged material. Maybe it's because of Linda?

We got to hear HTAE together in 2002! His 2016 version is passable and he can barely hit the high note at the end. I Will in 2011 still sounds great. Did he do that in 2005 ( the tour I missed?) ETA: I just checked, he did! Dang it!

We all have songs in the show that we seem to agree on that Paul shouldn't be playing anymore because of his voice...sometimes they get the boot...and sometimes odd ones get the boot. But I will never believe that Paul cuts songs because of his voice so long as he keeps the cluster**** that is "Maybe I'm Amazed" in this show... :

You know I love ya! Just jealous cause you have your whole life ahead of you! I got maybe 25 or so years left if I'm lucky. BUT, you can be jealous of me because I was there when it all happened in the U.S. (I Want To Hold Your Hand going to #1, the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, and the whole crazy ride up till now!)
I am like you Nancy, in the twilight of my life - lol. You are correct, we did see it all happen and witness the greatest music period ever IMO. I am not jealous of young people with their whole life in front of them because I have already lived a long and pretty darn good life. I have seen the world change dramatically and have been fortunate to have traveled and seen many fantastic places in the world. I have told my daughters that if they wind up having as good I life as me I will be very happy for them, so far they are doing well !!

I just meant I would like to do it all over again! I've had a pretty great life too so far!

I heard him do it in Washington DC in 2002 and the difference is night and day. It really is getting close to time for Paul to stop touring.

I'd say that Paul has three or so years left in him for touring. I do agree that HT&E should go, as should TFOTH. MIA, and lowering the keys of Live and Let Die and Eleanor Rigby
-
It'd be nice if he added Michelle to the regular set for once... It'd be a nice refresher instead of Love me Do or what not. Maybe instead of And I Love Her, which I like a lot but has been in forever.
-
That is utter nonsense. Paul will not stop. Slow down? Yes. Shorten the show? Yes. Drop keys? Yes. But he will never "be still".

Personally I would disagree because vocals should be judged in the flesh rather than on video clips. In the flesh, I would say that Maybe I'm Amazed is the only song where Paul's vocal decline is really apparent.

It's the only one where it is consistently apparent. There have been some other signals here and there, but no other constants like that one.

In the latest Q&A paul said that they're planning to play some songs from Flowers In The Dirt live (but they haven't rehearsed them yet), so should we expect a song or two from FITD this USA leg? My Brave Face? This One? Figure Of 8?

I sure hope so. I'll be stunned if we even get one.

Thank you so much for posting this! I hadn't been able to watch it before as it kept cutting off! (In the line live video posted here http://c4483579.r79.cf2.rackcdn.com/WTYD_Apr17_WEB.html

That would be very cool! He does say he would have to eliminate other songs from the regular setlist in order to add anything from FITD, though. He mentioned that he will rehearse songs and if he likes how they sound, he will think about playing them live.
