Tattoo signatures - yay or nay?
-
I'm happy when it's a boardie!!! Maybe Paul is thinking If he puts sigs on the young girls, their living signatures of him will be here long after he's gone?
-
That's been my thought as well.
-
I can guarantee I plan to keep mine forever, even when you have to stretch my skin out like a crumpled sheet to know what the tattoo is, lol...;)

Plus, he doesn't have time to scan the crowd constantly and keep playing, singing, and bouncing around.
Actually he does spends the whole show watching the crowd. He sees most of what goes on down front. But agree with what you said that the larger the signs, the easier it will be for him to notice them. The problem with that is when the people holding them forget that they are not the only ones in the venue. A little girl had a huge "can I have a hug" sign in front of me on Sunday night and her parents kept holding it up throughout the show. Paul probably saw it 50 times. I actually had to watch the two tattoo girls on the video screens because they held it up the entire time he was signing for them, and it completely blocked my view of the stage. I guess they were hoping maybe their little girl would be next up. That is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy about the signs and the rest of it, that people can't just put them down and enjoy the show. : MaccaDelinquent - excellent post and well-said. Audrey - good to hear from you on this subject; you are the original, as has been pointed out.

^ Oh tell me about it. During the Montreal show, walliebaby and I were ready to strangle the girl who eventually got her arm signed. She held up her sign literally after every. single. song. It got to the point where Paul even gave her a look and then turned to Brian to roll his eyes. Even when she got up on stage and had her arm signed, SHE STILL HELD UP THE SIGN. :

I know that's not funny because it blocked your view and is REALLY annoying...but, the way you typed it made me laugh. Why was she STILL holding it up? Sheesh. Only boardies know the rule of thumb: Sign up between songs. Once it is noticed...leave it down!
-
I always tell the people around me I have a sign to hold up between songs. They are super nice and supportive. In Charlotte they even kept reminding me to hold it up because I would only hold it up when Paul looked in my direction.

Is the woman who got her back signed on Sunday a boardie? Just wondering. Also wondering if she has a PR person, because she is all over the news! And I do mean ALL OVER! Oh, boy...good thing the tour is almost over, because now everyone will be trying it, for sure!

Hear, Hear. Glad I won't be in Pittsburgh to watch all the faces of the people who don't get called on stage.

I made a bunch of signs for the Saturday Philly show, but never got them out of the bag. It didn't feel right. I'm not sure why, really. Looking back, I would have had a HUGE check made out TO ME, for one million dollars! "Paul, please sign this...on the bottom right hand corner...yeah...right there"

She was in my small town local paper today. Did she contact every press person in the US? It's also in a UK paper now. She isn't the first to get this done. Audrey was and she didn't get all this publicity. What is so special about her that it's in the press so much? I don't get it.

I don't think any of the others contacted the press about their tattoo.

She was in my hometown's newspaper today, too. The actual newspaper building is about 10 minutes from my house. She got an AP story, and it has just spread. But, yeah - presumably she contacted them. Although it is possible the AP reporter was at the show and found it really interesting..?

Her FB page says she'll be on Inside Edition tomorrow. lol. Kudos to her - she really got her story out there. She is on the board. She joined after and PMd me about my tattoo and how it turned out. Don't think she's posting much.
-
Inside Edition? Are you serious? I really hope these people know she is not the first or the only one this has happened to.
-
Someone should submit Dara's story. Now, that's something special!

Definitely more news worthy anyway..

Two things one, back tattoo girl had better acknowledge Audrey on Inside Edition. Two any press for Paul is good, but I do wish it were Dara getting this coverage instead, as she deserves it after her ordeal with the venue and the happy ending.
