Tattoo signatures - yay or nay?
-
Lmao--first, that pimp avatar needs to be Paul's next concert t-shirt. Second, I love the tattoo stories, and third, I almost bought a Wonder Woman button in a music store because, when I looked quickly, I thought it was a Wings button. oops
-
I have tattoos of both the Wings logo and The Beatles logo. Also the logo from the Driving Rain tour. Good thing I didn't decide to continue doing each tour logo or my entire body would be covered. Just missing Paul's autograph.

Kind of a generalization to say young AND blonde.. My thinking is: Perhaps Paul is calling younger people on stage because he likes feeling that he's still relevant - even with those who weren't around to witness Beatlemania. Maybe in a way he expects those who've been lucky enough to witness his entire career in real time to be his fans, but it's something special to see those who were born in the 80s, 90s, etc. admire him so much. Just a thought. Off my soapbox now.
then he'd call up a few young blokes too since I bet he'd love to feel relevant with the next generation of musicians coming up. let's face it, ladies. Men like young women. It's one of the problems with the world. Oh, and don't think I'm jealous. I'm happy for you getting your tattoo and meeting Paul. Someone held up a sign asking him to sign their ass for a tattoo and he blantanly said no. I thought it was a guy but others have said they thought it was a girl.

If you're referring to the show in Hyde Park where someone asked him to sign their butt, it was definitely a girl. I was standing just a few people down from her. It was pretty funny. Has anyone seen a guy holding a sign asking for a siggy tattoo? Just curious.... wonder if it's been all girls?

and P.S. I have Strawberry Fields Forever on my foot (it's an actual strawberry, with "Fields Forever" written underneath). A girl i used to work with asked me once, "Oh, is 'Fields' your maiden name or something?". Umm.....what? really?
I think you posted a pic of that tattoo somewhere. hey, I know this guy named Wolf. He's an old man, a vegan, thinks that we all need to return to the universe and live off the land as nature intended as wild vegans. He seems like some sort of old hippie and he's the right age. He didn't know what Magical Mystery Tour was when he saw an illistration I did parodying the cartoons found in the book with that albu. and he wasn't joking. it was the talk of the day since he seemed the type to be a crazy Beatles fan 1st gen.

how about if i asked him to autograph my breasts, 'paul' on one and 'mccartney' on the other...would he go for that (LOL)

even if Paul would, Nancy might take you down before you get up on stage, I can just see it SusyLuvsPaul waiting at the side of stage where only security can see her, and Nancy executes a tackle that any defensive tackle back would envy! Paul up on stage is like, where is she?? Must of chickened out Please forgive me...we just had a p0wer outage at work and it was crazy for about 30 minutes now I am feeling a bit goofy!

One of my friends has a whole Yellow Submarine mural on her back, with a spot in the middle ideal for Paul's signature, but I think she doesn't have a prime seat in the front to have a shot at getting it signed. But even having said that, it's getting old and people are expecting it now.

depends on how big your breasts are.

This is the problem.

After he did Audrey's I think he should have just stopped.

Hmm, wonder if he'll do a couple more tonight.....

I'm pretty sure it's part of the show now.

It's only getting old to a few people who see every show, either following him around or diligent Youtubing. It's a real crowd pleaser, Paul seems to enjoy it, and a few people get the huge thrill of having it done. It's fine to have it expected even if everyone starts to know about it from it hitting the general media. It makes for anticipation. It doesn't take long, but is fun to watch so I can't see any problem at all.

I just talked to Marta via youtube. SHe is the girl that got signed before the wheelchair came up in the video that Harleyblues posted. I couldn't believe it when I found out she is 41! She looks about 20 something in that video! I'm her age and I'm not ugly, but I don't look that good! (She said I was very kind)

Hi there everyone! This is Marta. The woman from Saturday night's Philly show who was signed just before Dara took the stage. I have been reading the boards off and on for the past few years but I've never had the nerve to post. I felt I needed to come forward and comment. I've been a Paul fan since I was 10 years old (I'm 41 now). Like everyone else who's been signed, I never imagined I would make it up on that stage and have been walking around in a daze ever since! One thing that I realized in the last few days was that some people I know think that I came up with this idea and that I was the first. They seem shocked when I explain that he first did this a year ago (that I'm aware). People who don't follow Paul (like we do) don't realize that it's become somewhat routine lately. To them it is entertaining and exciting to see a concertgoer make it on stage to dance, sing, play guitar, get a hug or get signed for a tattoo. I also heard the term "tramp stamp" to describe my choice of location. I'm not sure if that's just a general term for the placement but I was somewhat hurt by the comment. That does not fit my profile at all. I am a married mom of two who wanted the tattoo in a place where I could easily show it off but not have to worry about covering it up when I didn't want to draw attention to it or me. And for those of you who are curious, I did get it tattooed the next night. I absolutely love it and it turned out great! A permanent reminder of the most amazing night of my life; second only to the birth of my two girls of course!
-
Welcome Marta. Don't take tramp stamp personally, you're right, it's just the general term for the location. Nevertheless, I'm surprised Paul signed you there since he was worried Sarah's tattoo was too low on her back, congrats!
-
I was surprised as well. Especially after watching one of the YouTube videos when he introduced me he asked the crowd if he should sign my arm. I had no idea he'd said that. When I got up there he asked me where I wanted it. I was really worried that he might insist on my arm and what would I say??? Sorry, no thanks??? (I had seen Sarah's video and heard his comment.) I showed him that I already had a small (3/4 inch x 1/4 inch) pink ribbon tattoo on my one wrist. He didn't argue and after watching the video (numerous times) he seems to be making a game of it, bending me over and laughing about it!
