I feel your pain. I had classes while I was attempting this morning's presale for Philly. Only to find out that my Amex card expired a year ago, and I won't have a new one in time for Charlottesville presale on Thursday
-
Got my fingers crossed I am fortunate this year. Good luck everyone.

At long last, I'm getting my girlfriend out there, on the run! We'll be coming down for the concert! This morning's presale worked GREAT. In and out in less than five minutes. We're in Section 311, Row P, Seats 9-10....I really do not think that distance will be as bad as it sounds considering the size of this arena. I can't believe I'm getting TWO Macca concerts this summer! (and a John Fogerty gig on the day in between!) This will be macca concert number nine...number nine...number nine.........number nine

yay!! Congrats on hitting 2 shows this year! I'm still seeing if Philly is an option for us.. but we'll have to be gone a while since the shows are only 2 days apart. Anyway.. I scored tix very easily this morning for Charlottesville! Sec 102, Row N. Was hoping to get closer up in the section, but oh well! Happy to just be there! The venue seems small!

Thanks! I haven't done two since my first two concerts! And congrats on getting out there! Maybe we'll finally cross paths!

Has anyone been to this venue for a concert? I am wondering how the numbering of the seats go in the floor sections. Any help would be appreciated.

Hope to finally see you Out There, at last! Maybe limo watch?! We've got some time to plan! Also, hope your GF enjoys her first Macca show! I first took my husband to see Paul in 05 when we were just dating, and he's gone back with me every year since!

Yeah! We're staying over night...I wanted to drive back, but she was worried. Definitely looking into things to do in the area- limo watch is on my radar!

If you're into history at all, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Monticello (home of Thomas Jefferson.) It is located just outside of Charlottesville. My husband and I stopped there on our honeymoon (he being the history buff) and I surprisingly liked it! It's very unique and scenic there. Peaceful place! We also went down to Colonial Williamsburg (quite a drive), the VA beach area, Richmond, and Cheseapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. Definitely a nice road trip!

Yeah, I thought about Monticello...but I'm not a Thomas Jefferson fan. I guess that shows that I am in to history- not many bother to dislike Thomas Jefferson! Still, it would be incredibly interesting from an architectural perspective.

Ha! That makes sense. It is indeed intriguing from the architectural perspective. The thought put into the design was far ahead of its time. On another note..you are making a good decision staying there rather than driving there and back the day of the show. We did that in Columbus in 05 and nearly fell asleep on the way home, despite how hyped I was from the show. Even switching off driving is tough. We are still looking at hotels in the area. I'm not used to seeing Paul in an area that isn't a large metropolis, so it's very different picking a place to stay this time!

Thanks! We're staying at the Fairfield Inn. It's about 8mins north of the arena on Route 29. It seemed like the best compromise on quality and price.

Any tix left below $189 on TM? How did the sale go today?

Doesn't look like it. Can't speak for this afternoon.

Got a seat on the floor...13th row! (Going to this one solo so there were some single seats even yesterday afternoon...couldn't get anything in the morning.) I live in Northern Virginia...yes, Monticello is definitely worth a visit, as are some of the awesome wineries in the Charlottesville area, including Barboursville and Early Mountain. I'm a wine and spirits writer so let me know if you need more help on that front. Can't wait!

John Paul Jones Arena capacity (rounded off) is about 15,ooo--wow, wonder if Paul would consider Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C., eventually--its capacity is 14,500, I think (Elton John played there this year, and also in 2000)--and Paul would be playing for a lot of troops as well as civilians -- Ft. Bragg is part of Fayetteville--he would be "giving back" to the troops who place themselves in harm's way to "protect and serve" and for freedom, etc. The city teems with music fans, and it's not far from Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill.
