I just saw that at the last movie...not for me either

"The Glass Castle" stars Brie Larson as Jeannette Walls, based on Walls' excellent memoir by the same name, co-stars Naomi Watts and Woody Harellson, eager to see this having read the book. It won't equal or surpass the book, but will be worth a look see. Warning SPOILER: I just edited to remove the spoiler.

Tulip Fever could be interesting

Going to see: Dunkirk tonight in IMAX theatre
It's a very realistic war movie ... that might be enough to change some the minds of some from attending. For those who dare otherwise, I suggest to get a little understanding of the history. Wikipedia - might almost be enough. It was before the U.S. entered into WWII ... Without knowing a fragment of the history, makes it otherwise hard to understand. I recommend the movie.
I almost went to see it, then didn't. How would you rate it, say, compared to Saving Private Ryan?

Thanks for the review, grew up hearing real war stories and don't think I could watch this... Couldn't watch Saving Private Ryan either!

Goodbye Christopher Robin could be interesting.

It's been years since I saw Saving Private Ryan ... which in itself was intense. I wouldn't know how to compare them. I didn't see Private Ryan in a theatre ... but I saw Dunkirk in an IMAX theatre. That made it all the more intense to me. It's worth going to see. For American's it covers a beginning portion of WW2. A part most American's may not know about. It's split into approx. 5 or 6 bits. A pilots view. Civilians in smaller boats - on a rescue mission (view). Several bits of people on France shores - under attack or soon to be (views). I don't want to say too much to avoid spoiling the movie. Just read a little bit on/about Dunkirk - the movie doesn't really explain the quandary of the time. Two thumbs up!!

Thanks Andy. Didn't get a notification on this, so glad I came back to check. Maybe I'll reconsider. I'm very interested in history, and I'm sure I have never read about this aspect of WWII.

Do Americans really not know about the Battle of Dunkirk? It's kind of important.

Generally speaking, the answer is yes. However, since the movie was released - it's gone a long way to educate Americans. You must remember than our President at the time WWII began promised that America would not enter into the war. And was voted back into office on that promise. Certain details of the War fell by the wayside (exception: history buffs) with the lack of public interest - the media of the time generally complied.

I doubt that's true. The war in Europe was kind of a big deal at the time. If it were today, that would be a different story. But either way, when I was in school, our history books were not limited to headlines. Surely, other students must have studied what happened in/to France, the Maginot Line, the Western Front.

When I took American History (even in college in the '70s) we never made it to WWII by the end of the year or semester!

Where did you stop? I can see not covering Vietnam during the '70s, but WWII changed the world.

I want to see "The Glass Castle," "The Big Sick" and "The Only Living Boy in New York," which are all playing now at the beach in S.C. so I'm going there to see them, probably. I guess I want to see "Home Again" with Reese Witherspoon, though the trailer made it look a bit cringe-inducing in parts. Hurricane Irma is probably gonna prevent me from going to the beach

Steve McQueen - American Icon http://www.stevemcqueenmovie.com/ This one seems interesting. At the moment it's only a one evening play around America _ Thursday Sept.28th. The above website will find the theatres closest to you through your zip code.

IT was an amazing film. Heartbreaking, very funny, and brutal. You will laugh, tear up, and scream bloody murder. What a great time!

I first read the book (Stephen King) then saw the original movie. Would like to see this new one!
