Beatlefan just reported very specific cities rumored for a US Tour(s) throughout May, June and, July. I say tours, because I can't imagine him doing all these at one time between May 9th and June 22nd with Bonnaroo in between. -Orlando, FL -Indinapolis, IN -Austin, TX -Tulsa, OK -Washington, DC -New York City, NY -Boston, MA -Las Cruces, NM -Milwaukee, WI -Seattle, WA -San Francisco, CA San Francisco has been mentioned here before. Perhaps it's that festival in August? There may be a late spring US leg with cities down the east coast leading to Bonnaroo. Then, there may be the cities in the Midwest/Southwest that will lead up to San Francisco Festival? That part is just my speculation. I just hope if anything turns out to be true, that the dates work. Graduation Day is May 31st and there are LOTS of busy and booked dates around that time for yours truly...
Sorry where did these dates get reported? I am intrigued by that Seattle date.
BeatleFan magazine's facebook site. They are very reliable. I wouldn't post this here if I didn't believe in it. The only matter they did not report too specifically was "when". Again, I think this would be acheived over two US legs, not one.
BUMP!
Let's take this into consideration venue-wise. Orlando : Amway Center - Citrus Bowl Stadium (Most likely Amway Center, brand new venue) Indianapolis : Bankers Life Fieldhouse - Lucas Oil Stadium (toss up but I pick Lucas Oil) Austin : Frank Erwin Center - Zilker Park (Zilker Park, he's done open venue shows like this before.) Tulsa : BOK Center (only likely venue) Washington DC : Verizon Center - Nationals Park - FedEx Field (Toss up but I doubt it's Verizon) New York : Madison Square Garden - Barclays Center - Izod Center - Prudential Center - Nassau Coliseum - Yankee Stadium - Citi Field - MetLife Stadium (God Only Knows) Boston : TD Garden - Fenway Park - Gillette Stadium (Fenway without a doubt) Las Cruces : Aggie Memorial Stadium Milwaukee : Bradley Center - Miller Park (Miller Park without a doubt) Seattle : Key Arena - Tacoma Dome - Safeco Field - CenturyLink Field (Toss Up) San Francisco HP Pavilion - Oracle Arena - AT&T Park - O.co Coliseum - Candlestick Park - Outside Lands (Outside lands, if not, I'd guess candlestick.)
Thank you for putting all that into perspective...and welcome to the board! I can speak for DC, that National's Park handles concerts horribly. Saw Elton John & Billy Joel there in '09 and there was absolutely no control. Security was ridiculous, people everywhere...really hope it isn't there. They haven't hosted many concerts since that one anyways. Fedex Field would be okay again I guess...but I'd prefer Verizon Center. Paul did two nights there in '02 and stopped in on the '05 US tour.
Thanks! I was at that Elton/Billy show in DC as well. Worst sounding show I've ever been to. If I recall, that was the first ever concert. Exiting was a nightmare, only one subway station close to it (two blocks away.) Verizon (where I saw Billy in 2006) would be great because it is right in downtown but it's as if he's outgrown that venue.
-
Oh cool! Yes, it was the first concert held there. The Eagles are playing at Verizon Center this summer, Paul can do it. I'll be missing that Eagles show because of such strong rumors for Paul... ops:

I can't see them waiting too much longer. First US show in 50 days!!
The Tulsa show in 2009 was announced 41 days beforehand. That is the shortest notice I can remember.
All of those '09 shows were very short notice. That's the only reason I went to Citi Field! Jumped right on the gun for them (probably about the same day I joined the board) then roughly a week later, Fedex Field is announced!
I was on vacation in Tennessee when the FedEx Field show was announced. I got the email, and then they were suddenly on sale. So glad I had the internet in that little cabin in the mountains!

Very lucky! We were in the front row....of the 300 section Couldn't afford close seats after the expense of traveling to Citi Field and being ON the field!

I was on the field, but not that close. It was my daughter's first Paul concert (she was 11) and she's tiny. They wouldn't let her stand on a chair to see, even though she wasn't blocking anybody's view. :

Really hate security most of the time! They do too much damage trying to do good... :

I went to see Rick Springfield at a casino last week (don't make fun), and he kept telling security to fuck off and leave people alone.

Thanks for the list. I have a feeling that Bankers Life Fieldhouse is the more likely venue in Indy. Paul has played there before and it regularly hosts concerts. The only issue might be scheduling around potential NBA playoff games if it is early enough.

I could see it like Dallas/Arlington in 2005 - 2009. He played the Fieldhouse in 2002 and Lucas Oil could curtain off the top tier like Cowboys Stadium.
-
Actually, there was a Bruce Springsteen show last summer (summer 2012) at Nationals Park and I thought it was great, sound-wise. I also saw Paul at FedEx Field and thought it sounded great (though the parking situation was a nightmare!). I'm just psyched he's playing DC, since it's right in my backyard! I just hope it's not that one weekend in July when I'll be ... of all places ... in the UK!

From what I read, the Stones are on board for 18 shows, doing multiple shows in one city. The Stones put on a very exciting show. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are one of the most dynamic live acts around.
They also mix up their setlist quite a bit.
That's true...but so many of the songs sounds the same...especially live...
The tens of thousands of fans who will go to their concerts don't care what you think. They sound the same to you because you are not a fan. As I once stated here, I am not a big Eric Clapton fan. Just not for me. But I respect that thousands enjoy his music and his concerts. I saw him once. That was enough for me! I have seen the Stones three times, and if they play New Mexico (they won't) I would go. And I CERTAINLY will go see McCartney if he plays New Mexico!!!
be nice... truthfully, the stones sound like crap last few tours maybe more than that.. I think ppl see them for the one thought -- "it's the Stones" legends..the casual fan.. MicK's vocals are so drowned out be production- back up singers & what not's .. they weren't great at 12-12-12 either~ they were brilliant back in the day...last time I had seen them 10 years plus...they were ok back than Now, Paul, him & the band don't need all that ..back up singers, over production & what nots you can hear Paul's voice although not flawless hiccups now & than.. he's still got it... some just truly do not have an ear for music~
That's your opinion. Stones fans would disagree. And are going to sell out their concerts, regardless of your opinion. Or mine. Whatever. I am more concerned about McCartney's concerts here, and his announcing new dates!!

I just saw Eric Clapton (great floor seats in the 2nd section back) on Mar. 27th and once was enough for me too. (practically zero interaction with the audience) Also saw the Stones once in the mid-'90's and that was enough too. I want to see Paul so bad!!

Paul is always my first choice. But I do enjoy the Stones live. I also enjoy Cheap Trick a ton!! FUN and ROCIN' live band!! I sure hope we get an announcement next week!

That's fine if that's how you feel, but Eric Clapton has never been a crowd-interacter really. I'd imagine half of his set was straight blues covers too, right? That's just his thing now...it's pretty much advertised that way too. He's certainly no greatest hits live. I'd love to see him at least once.

You're correct. He did do Layla (slow version), Wonderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven (acoustic set) and towards the end he did Cocaine and Sunshine of Your Love, so I was pleased. I would have rather heard the original fast Layla though.
-
Wow, he must have changed his setlist a bit then from years past. I saw him around 2000 or so and remember hearing Crossroads and the fast version of Layla for sure, as well as Cocaine, Sunshine of Your Love, and I think even White Room. I don't remember a ton of crowd interaction, though.

Wow- I'm really surprised "Tears in Heaven" made the cut...he seems to totally distance himself from that tune in recent tours. My Uncle went to NYC to see him and Steve Winwood and was totally shocked at the setlist....not what he was expecting at all. Personally, I think Eric Clapton is the greatest guitarist of all time so, I really don't care what he played if I saw him for the first time but, that's just me. By the way...Happy 68th Birthday Eric

Regardless of where you place the stones, don'tcha think Eric Clapton is simply more musically talented than Keith Richards? Thus, making him beyond "really good"?
