He's taking the On The Run Tour to four cities that have not seen him in at least seven years, some have never seen him, and none have been touched on a mini-tour....don't expect much change.
Very much true, but he tends to swap 3 or 4 songs around every start of a 'leg'. I'm sure he will add a phenomenal one like 'Listen To What The Man Said' or 'Hope For Deliverance' for this round. But undoubtedly that will come at the expense of for example 'Junior's Farm'. And I suspect - hope for those attending! - he throws in the songs he only played at those few European dates in late 2011/March 2012, like the stunning 'The Word / All You Need Is Love' addition, instead of the beyond stale 'Lady Madonna' or 'I Saw Her Standing There', like he frustratingly did enough in the South-American countries after that. 'My Valentine' is a guarantee, but I'm afraid 'Come And Get It' is dead for good. But if he plays the UK again after that, and will play that same selection of songs for the fourth year in a row, I'm really curious about the crowd reception and press reviews...
Well yes, even between US legs/mini tours he tends to swap no more than five. First, I'm hoping I can go at all!!! BUT, God-willing everything works out, I'd like to just see a lot of the new tracks/ rare tracks that have debuted in the last year, make their US debut. -Hello Goodbye (I know it's been played in the US, but I still haven't heard it live!) -My Valentine -Hope of Deliverance -Every Night -Two of Us -The Word/ All You Need is Love And like you say, probably one surprise...maybe Goodnight Tonight? And hopefully, none of the great live gems that were added the last time around, will dissapear like... -Junior's Farm -The Night Before -1985 -Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/ The End he CAN make this exciting with very little change!!!
Out of your list, would like to see the back of HG or MMT as openers, but he also added Things we said today in SA, which he should keep in tbh. yeah needs a big song in the mix- Can't buy me Love/Birthday or Coming Up spring to mind.

This is what he's been doing lately, it gives him a great excuse for laziness!!
It could come across that way but, I really think it's just the fact that he can't do full scale tours any more because of his age and because of his daughter. However, people like you and I still get hyped when he performs in our country every year, and this is where the opinions come in...personally, I'm just happy to see him performing songs that I love and cherish, even if I've heard the majority before. But, others want new stuff every year, and what's wrong with that? I'd like to know... because I hope I go....again!!!!

I think Paul shouldn't perform in England until they return the Falklands to Argentina and Gibraltar to Spain
Yessss! I know you're joking this time around.

I wish I could say "here I go again" but it looks like he's abandoning us this winter!

I think you might still get him, actually.

He probably is abandoning us. Isn't the first time he's done this. He'll probably make us painfully wait until his supposed new tour next year to promote his new rock album (just a guess). I think he probably doesn't want to create a new setlist (no idea why!), so in order to keep the same old, same old setlist he'll need to go to places that haven't heard it before instead. It's strange because wasn't the whole "too busy working on an album and planning for a brand new tour" excuse used in order to cancel the Denmark shows? And then they contradict themselves and announce On the Run is continuing to the US. It doesn't make sense. Poor Danes.

I hope so, too. But it'll still be On the Run. Has Paul ever had a tour last this long to the point of going to the same places twice?

Well he doesn't need to call it On the Run, the Up and Coming Tour took a break in December '10 if you remember for a few Christmas gigs in New York, London and Liverpool that were standalone gigs and then the tour restarted.

Really? Cool. There's hope still, then. What do they sell at the merch stalls, though? The usual On the Run stuff?

No they sold "Live at the Academy" stuff in Liverpool, still wish I'd bought some because I can't find it anywhere

So maybe everything isn't ready for a new tour to promote the up coming album, but Paul still wants to tour, hence why On the Run is continuing. I hope they don't keep us guessing for too long. Or EVEN WORSE... there could be UK dates announced in the one week in December I can't do. Oh gosh. I'd be absolutely devastated. Seriously.

What were those stuffs? I didn't buy anything there either because I didn't wanna give up my place in the 5th row.

I can't really remember because like you I was so stupidly excited but if you remember the souvenir ticket we got on the way out? I think it was Tshirts, posters etc with that print on them.

With work I'd need lots of notice to be able to go so he better not pull his usual stunt! I'm going to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this year, gutted Paul isn't playing again!!

I'd say we'd hear in October time if he's gonna play the UK, he could always reschedule the Danish dates for December

I hope so. I feel really sorry for the people who were meant to be going to that. I hope we know soon because I need time to debate with myself about whether I should splash out on a soundcheck package.

I'm gonna do it now that I'm a working man!

Lucky you, Doc! I'm not working yet, but I think I could still afford it. I'm too Macca-mad not to.
