Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

Hope he comes the uk I want to do a sound check package

It certainly looks like Japan will be included this year. While at the Brooklyn shows, the Japanese promoter was here negotiating for shows. It doesn't mean that the deal was done, but a buddy from Japan says talks were successful despite the economy being bad right now. Guess we'll see soon!

If they are only at this stage, these chats may be about shows for the 2014, even 2015, season. Look-see at past rumours: Halifax Common rumours broke in 2008 when negotiations were reported but the season passed without any announcement. It took place a year later in 2009. Warsaw rumours broke in October 2011 and we had to wait almost two years to finally see those come to fruition. It can literally takes months, even years, to tie up a contract, do the necessary site surveys, secure the essential permissions, and organise local suppliers of staging etc before a show takes place. That may be so Martin, but I'm pretty confident that in November we will be talking about the tour in Japan. All I can say is I sure hope so for Japan, great fans, they deserve it! I just hope they fit Australia in too as it makes all the sense in the world while over there and it's been a very long time since he's been there.

I've a feeling he'll do 8-10 Japanese shows from mid-November to early December. Then he'll do 3 in the UK and will head over to Australia in January and February and will do 10-15 gigs. If my guess is correct, we're looking at his longest tour since 2002!

Well that would make absolutely no sense and defeat the purpose of doing Australia while he's over that way doing Japan. It's also asking quite a lot of gigs for Japan. I'd guess more around five shows and probably nothing in the UK if this comes through.

This seems more likely. 10 shows in Japan??? 15 shows in Australia?? No.

I'd take a half dozen shows in Oz and a couple in New Zealand. And he get's to have his photo ops hugging Koalas and petting Kangaroos... DO IT YA SCOUSER!!!

He did 6 last time, and most artists today do 10-12 shows in Australia.

Time will tell. Has he ever done 12 shows in Australia?
-
The last time he was in Australia was 1993 and he did 10 shows...certainly he does not have that energy anymore. He has done 6 shows in Japan in 90...93...and 02...I would guess 6 again this time.

Ringo did 5 shows in Australia earlier this year.

If Paul wants to invest the time, I could see him doing 6 shows in Japan, 6 shows in Australia, and 2 shows in New Zealand. Arena shows.

Makes sense. Also, while he's in the area, he might as well do South Korea (remember that picture posted on the main site a few months ago?). If he is seriously looking into Japan, all these other locations are also doable (and very profitable). It would also not be inconceivable to see him close with a large-scale European leg that could include the UK. These opportunities are very exciting and would be a great way to market the new album if the fall rumors are true...

I don't think Paul will be coming to Toronto in the forseable future however; Black Sabbath is & my tickets were a third of the price of Paul's.
-
I wouldn't expect any more North American Dates to be announced for 2013...enjoy your show!
