if Hillary manages to pull off suing her way into office. I hope Obama moves to the Independent party. I will too.
uh, there is no such thing as the "Independent" party When people say they are "Independent" they mean that they are neither a registered democrat or republican.
Agreed there is no Independent Party but I knew there was an Independence Party Of New York so I did a search and found out that there is a Independence Party Of America as of September 23, 2007 which is an umbrella for such parties in various states.

It was punishment enough that the citizens in Florida & Michigan didn't have their vote counted -- if indeed they could vote at all in the primaries.
Florida Democrats are used to that.

Some observations: Historically, the VP post doesn't mean too much. The only point...will this person be able to step in if needed.
Historically, yes. But, as Rumsfeld would put it, this is the new paradigm. Cheney's consolidation of power is not something that any VP is going to want to give up. Also, historically speaking, the abilities of the VP are not of prime concern to voters. How else do you explain Quayle?

2052 total delegates + 21 State delegates (from Puerto Rico tonight) = 2073 + 9 pledged delegates (next tuesday´s Primary in Montana) + 10 (next tuesday´s Primary in South Dakota) = 2092 total delegates.Final 3 contests: The END of the Democratic Party Primaries. Then,2092 + ONLY another 26 Democratic SuperDelegates (tonight and next days...) = 2118 = NOMINATION for Senator Barack Obama. Wait just another few days and then you will see...
Update/Official Results/DNC :- I knew it. Puerto Rico´s Primary = more 20 delegates to Senator Obama. So,we have at this precise moment :-Senator Obama=2070 Total delegates = NOW ONLY 48 total delegates to the nomination. Tomorrow,FINAL 2 Democratic contests :- Montana(more 11 delegates to Barack Obama),and South Dakota(more 12 delegates to Obama, including SuperDelegates from these 2 States...)= 2092 total delegates + ONLY more 25 SuperDelegates (tonight and next days from other States...) = 2118 = Barack Obama´s NOMINATION.
Update/Just in/Official reports/Countdown :- More 4 Democratic SuperDelegates endorsed Senator Barack Obama. So,now ONLY more 44 total delegates to the end.
Update/Official results/DNC/Countdown :- Now (after 3 more SuperDelegates endorsed Senator Barack Obama) ONLY 41 total delegates to the end.Today and tonight (after the 2 last Democratic contests,in Montana and in South Dakota) will be time for...Celebrations... I am ready.

Then it will be up to the individual states....and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Hi Bill , they were counted. Unfortunately, counties didn't do what the state told them to do. Bush won by 537 votes...the democrats didn't get it done. Obama folks don't know what they're in for in the general election.
-
Despite what is said , Obama picked up a south carolina superdelegate this morning....so far, no others. They'll wait until Montana and South Dakota have their say. There is only "victory" when you sit in the oval office....that hasn't happened yet. Long way to go.
-
The thing I don't like about Obama is that if he is not reading from a prepared text, I find it unbelievable he is a Harvard graduate, with all his ehs, ums, stuttering, long silences between words. He's almost an idiot when he is speaking off the cuff. He'll never win the White House. The more you know about him, the less impressive he becomes.

True enough, but Clinton is arguably a more formidable opponent than McCain. And while McCain has disappointed me a lot in the last 6 months, I still regard him as a fundamentally decent person. Call me naive, but I'm looking forward to a very interesting and respectful general campaign. No doubt the partisan shills will bring the usual array of dirty tricks but this time it will be without the consent of the candidates themselves. Things are looking good.
-
Yes, I agree things are looking very good. As I know what is happening here on the ground, I will be posting that same comment come November. Peace

This is the bestest birthday ever! About time. Lets hope the two presidential candidates stay on message and don't allow the CARL ROVE'S of the world to taint and ruin the election.

Do you know why? Because when a simple innocent remarks becomes a excuse to twist and distort his message and then next thing you see him falling in the polls. His wife make a simple remark and now she's anti American. He minister makes some heated remarks and he having to quit his church. Because people can't think for themselves and they expect more from a mere man than any of us could ever pull off. If he speaks his passion he'd be dead in the water like Howard Dean was. A good guy that was winning in the polls until a simple twist of fate. We forced our politician to be very careful, to a point of causing them to be mute and almost not have a opinion so it won't come back to bite them. George Washington would never of made it into office with todays standards of what makes a good politition. Well Carl Rove bring it on....let the games begin.
