It's just slightly different if you are running for the highest office in America. Besides the majority of Democrats & Republicans in major offices wear them.

Anyone hear that Ralph Nader is running again? Thats one more thing that makes me laugh about this election.

If Clinton get the nomination (fat chance), he would further ensure a McCain win. If it's Obama, he'll be a blip on the radar

one more time .... Obama may face grilling on patriotism No flag pin, no hand over his heart: Is he exposed? AP updated 5:26 a.m. ET, Sun., Feb. 24, 2008 WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama's refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin along with a photo of him not putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem led conservatives on Internet and in the media to question his patriotism. Now Obama's wife, Michelle, has drawn their ire, too, for saying recently that she's really proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. Conservative consultants say that combined, the cases could be an issue for Obama in the general election if he wins the nomination, especially as he runs against Vietnam war hero Sen. John McCain. please use the link below to access the entire article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23315711
I want a President who is patriotic and experienced and it appears that Obamba is neither. He has said very little about his policies but touts the attendence at his huge rallies and has resorted to spending millions of dollars misrepresenting Hillary Clinton's views on health care and trade in his mass mailings in states that will hold their primaries March 4th. He will not back off despite Hillary calling him on the carpet about it. Why the American people are buying into his inexperience and non-patriotic actions is beyond me. I hope if he is elected that he will not be just a figurehead leader with everyone else pulling his strings and I hope if he represents America abroad and The Star Spanged Banner is played that he will sing along and put his hand on his heart and say The Pledge Of Allegience in public when the circumstances present themselves. I want a President that will get our troops out of this mistake of a war in Iraq and McCain says we must continue on to victory in Iraq. He would be a viable choice if he would not stay the course in Iraq. I have read that if we elect McCain it would be like giving G. W. Bush a third term and, as of this morning, it is being suggested that McCain's age could work against him in this election. It has been said that Hillary Clinton and Obama are not that different in their ideas but she is patriotic and experienced and they are pluses in my book. Hillary has asked Obama to talk issues and not fall back on the attendence at his rallies to measure success. Running for President should not be a popularity contest but a contest on where the candidates stand on the issues that matter in this country. Also, this morning on "Meet The Press" Ralph Nader announced his candidacy as a third party candidate. I'm not saying that all third party voters will vote for Nader but those voters just may decide this election. I hope religion isn't as big a factor as it was in 2004 because people said John Kerry was not as religious as George Bush because Kerry was divorced. So what! Ronald Regan was the first President to be divorced and he was a Republican. George Bush was perceived as being the more religious candidate but why did he go to war against the wrong country and why has he stayed the course of bloodshed in Iraq? I think G. W. Bush is misinterpreting God's guidence on this issue and his tanking approval ratings bear this out. If we could only turn back the clock. Before anyone jumps at me for the above, yes I am religious. Tuesday's debate (February 26th) should be interesting, to say the least. Just my opinion and I stand by it!

Here are bu$h and Powell lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction while wearing their flag lapel pins:

After all of this I think Michelle has the right to be a little angry. If we want to go destroy an entire country because of 911, I think that we are blessed that Obama and his wife want to help our country rather than nuke it!!!
And you would feel protected with him in office? I know I wouldn't......maybe if he had something substantial to say except CHANGE....I would listen more. And it has NOTHING to do with race.......it has to do with his cause and how he is representing it. Sure.....he's a nice guy......but is that all we need? I just don't see him or especially his wife protecting the country. This whole election scares the hell out of me......both sides.
Our country has spent trillion and trillion to fight a basicly 2nd world county full of people who can't stand each other let alone us. They been at war for 4000 years. Do you really think bombing the s**t out them is going to change there hate for each other? We are in Iraq because Sadam was getting ready to flow cheap oil into the market place. Fact! This war is about oil. 911 was about fear. a barrel of oil reached 100. Mission accomplished. Now let stop the killing and go back to work to pay off this debt. Obama knew like a lot of us that this war was wrong. We America's do not attack countries that do not attack us first. ( P.S. Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 911 they were saudi's) However Bush world does.
You nor Obama have still explained to me how he is going to protect this country....

Don't be so sure......there is a looooooooong way to go!!

Hard to get back to work to pay off debt if oil is around $100/barrel. Welcome back to the late 1970s early 80s.....it's stagflation time again. It wasn't pretty the last time either.

you do not have to worry as Obama said in last debate that protecting america is his first priority and I'm sure he will do a much better job than the current white house occupant who ignored threats which lead to the first ever attack on US on 9/11. See links: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/mar/22/iraq.usa

Protecting America is his first priority....LOL, how? And sorry if I do not take a 2004 article from the Guardian seriously.... And yes.....I am very worried!!!

In a democracy it is each citizens responsibility to be sufficiently knowledgable to cast an informed ballot. So I refer you to the last democratic debate which occurred 1/21, you can find the debate on the internet. There Obama tells how he will protect our country. There is sufficient credible information available that shows bush has not protected our country (9/11 anyone?) I think people learn more when they do their own research. To phrase your sig, I guess you are looking around worried while I am looking up in faith that our country will soon be in better hands.

Buy getting Bush and his neo con's out for start. With change the good old boy club will be broken up and maybe just maybe someone can get some laws in place that will allow real change in Washington. Like term limits. You can't protect everyone all the time. Someone who wants to do harm will do harm. There been acts of terrorism way before 911. Getting a handle on our boarders would be a start. Deport illegals another and stop with the immigration to this country. We don't need any one's hungry and poor anymore, we have our own. This country is full and we need to stop before quality of life is ruined for our kids. Nationalize oil. That would take the profits away from the a few who are promoting war in the middle east to run up oil prices. Obama wants to reach out to these countries, unlike Bush who has basically created terrorists due to his behavior. We need someone who can inspire this country which Obama can and clean up the debt he has created. China and our dependence on it is much more of a threat the someone with box cutters.

The answer to your question re Obamas protecting our country is in the above quote,in the first paragraph. It is always best to get information directly, then there is no misunderstanding. If you are unwilling to seek information on your own, you can not blame others for not having the information.

You mean the part where he said make friends with our enemies.......yeah that will do it, especially when they have no desire to be your friend and never had. OK...I feel safer now.......NOT!!!

I am not worried now at all......I am worried about the idea of Obama being president....you got that part right.

If I may? how does one get the "largest and most efficiently run military in the world? If the military is already having difficulty getting individuals to join and the d r a f t seems to be unlikely, Obama hasn't explained how that will be accomplished. Seems to me that is where jennylp is going. This is an example why many voters believe obama is all rhetoric and nothing more.
