You are entitled to your own opinions Personally I think extream liberism is the worst on marriage Tennessee is a place where some of the best musicians choose to live ... and plenty of other musicians who are still trying to "make it" choose to live there as well. New Jersey is a very costly place to live - more typically Dem. However, our curently Gov. is sometimes moderate & sometimes conservative (it all depends upon the issue)

Those numbers don't surprise me at all, Mustangsally10. Not one bit. I would say, though, that the conservatives here at this forum are not your run-of-the-mill, "conservative" dumb-asses. But those stats certainly explain why the typical, American conservative still believes that Obama is a Muslim. They don't think. These are the SAME people who were so alarmed by The President's controversial CHRISTIAN pastor, Jeremiah Wright, back in 2008. Which is it, folks?

So who pays for the mess that the republicans have created in their own states...why the taxpayers in the blue (democrat) states Their poor health care results drag down the national average and increase costs for health care in general and since the republican states are the poorest of the poor the democrats (and everyone else) have to end up paying for their mess in higher insurance premiums. This will eventually be straightened out as all of the new Health Care reform law is implemented. So the question is Why would anyone be a republican /conservative : : : : What are valid reasons for being a republican/conservative : : :

Answer: they can't
Sure they can't afford it.. Regan raided the cookie jar. He used money set up for SS to pay off debt. Let it alone and it will carry itself. Also why the fuck don't these states take on the cops and the fire dept wages ??????? Take on the Public employee benefits. What killing us is these bloated benefit package giving to cops and fire dept and teachers. Because there unions donate heavy to both parties. They have lobbyist. Not to mention all the trickery of local government being directors in this district pulling a huge retirement and than doing it over and over.. Some had to only work a 2 year term to get full retirement. There doing it over and over in different districts and one cop is retiring with 400,000 a year at age 44 for life and full health care benefits. Let talk public employee packages. Let us see them published in every town. Let the people understand what the heck going on there. My friend dad was Mayor of Anch Ak and he published all the wages paid out to public employees. Some cops were making 150 thousand a year. This was back in the 80's .. What do you think it looks like now. but that kind of talk will never happen. It all about showing how we can't afford to take care of the old.. Yes we can.. nationalize health care.
-
SS has nothing to do with paying Medicaid now, including Reagan. States need to pay the costs first before they are reimbursed by the federal government. The loss of tax revenue for the past couple of years while the increase in those on Medicaid has strained state budges (look it up if you don't believe me). Also, Medicaid unlike SS and Medicare (the plan for the elderly) is not funded by a payroll tax. Not every state is like Wisconsin where public employees pay 8% for their health care. I know for a fact that in Massachusetts that is now 30%. And just as in the private sector, the cost has gone up. Most states have their employees, at least the management, do furloughs, that is working without pay. So management works 12 months yet is paid for 11. As for the cops and firemen, it seems you may be referring to the major cities as the majority of small towns in the US have volunteer firemen (read: the town doesn't pay them a salary).
-
I just went into the city the other day because I think my critical lands is too much and there might be a mistake on it.. Everyone I needed to talk to was on vacation.. surprise, surprise! Than one lady was trying to help me but of course no one ever knows anything but the person on vacation. So hanging around I went to a board with all there cards on it..OMG there must of been 100 names on the board.. Looking at the cards, there was director of this, head of that, here lies the problems. There NO building happening in any town anywhere. Yet do they do a massive layoff, of all these inspectors and directors? No they keep paying them.. Gee they get a furlow day. Private sector would be pink slip and expected. They create laws just so they can hire all these people to enforce them. Now there putting up cameras at lights and sending people 150 dollars tickets. Without asking those people in there own town if they want them.. but it gets better. The company making the camera, take a % of the money collected.. That is how there paid for.. Now we have private sector thinking of ways to get into the action of fines.
-
You do understand that furloughs are working *without* pay?? that means those folks take home less money. Yet, folks like you still want the same services??? Public sector workers, just like private sectors, have been laid off as well. I keep hearing that many, like you, want public sector workers to do "401K plan". I do find that comical, particularly here in Massachusetts. Like other states, not all mind you, public sector workers don't get social security like private sector workers do. While I do understand private sector frustration, I would think it would be helpful that what public sector workers get isn't the panacea they would like to believe.
