Svenn:
Congratulations, Stefan!
thanks; in the end it was a very tight match, and I just happened to be a bit more lucky than audrey! I`d like to dedicate my victory to Zinedine Zidane who`s celebrating his 34th birthday this week , and I like to thank my fans (without your support this wouldn`t have been possible ) ... but hold on, no rest for the moondog. I`m eager to win the 2nd round too!

I'll challenge you. Hey, Switzerland won their group. I told you they were good.

You were absolutely right; seems another expert`s in the pool now, so I have to watch out and give my best

I hope I haven't put anyone off with the rules for the knockout stages. If you look closely, it's very much the same thing as what we've been doing for the 1st Round. The rewarding of 1 point for predicting the winner should they win on penalty kicks makes me a bit uncomfortable, but I don't know any other way of dealing with penalty kick results. The only thing I added from the 1st Round are scoring systems in the event one of you wish to predict a draw. As I've mentioned, it's risky and I don't expect to see it too much. I reward 2 pts for predicted draws that end after extra-time to offset the 1 point rewarded if a predicted team wins via penalties. Examples: Person A predicts Team A 2-1 Team B Person B presdicts Team A 1-1 Team B If the match ends 2-2 after extra time, and Team A wins on penalty kicks... Person A gets 1 point Person B gets 2 points I feel that Person B should get a higher reward since the game ended in a draw. (Any knockout phase match that is decided on penalties, FIFA officially counts it as a drawn result) Does anyone object? I'd appreciate any feedback before Saturday's games begin. If you're against predicting draws, perhaps we can all agree that we all must predict a winner for every game for this point forward and play as we've been doing. Question is, how do we handle penalty kick results?

What about this: 1 point for predicting the winner of the game 3 points for predicting the right score after 90 or 120 minutes (this can also be a draw) 4 points when you have both right

Not sure about your logic behind this. Are you saying this: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You predict Team A to beat Team B 2-1... -- If Team A wins 2-1 after 90' or 120', you get 4 points. -- If Team A wins by a different scoreline after 90' or 120', or wins on penalty kicks, you receive 1 point. -- If Team B wins by any method, you get 0 points. -------------------------- If you predict a 1-1 score... -- If score ends 1-1 after 120', you get 4 points. (The scoreline after 90' is irrelevent, whether it's 0-0 or 1-1 or 2-2 or etc...) -- If score is 1-1 after 90' and match remains drawn after 120' but with added goals during extra-time (eg, it ends 2-2), you get 2 points. -- Along the same lines, if score is 0-0 after 120', you get 2 points. -- If score is 1-1 after 90' but a winner is determined during extra-time, you get 0 points. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is it just the simple matter of giving more points to those who are able to predict the exact scores? Tbh, I prefer the 3 pts. Most of the prediction games I play usually reward 3 pts for exact score. It's what I'm used to. But if others here like the idea of 4 points, I don't mind the change. I'll leave the option open until 1 hour before kickoff Saturday to give everyone a chance to voice their opinion. With Svenn joining in, that would be 14 total players (assuming the holdovers from the 1st Round continue to play) I'll keep quiet, leaving 13 of you all. If 7 people would rather reward 4pts for exact scoreline, we'll go with that. If more people decide to join, I'd require at least half the # of participants to agree to rewarding 4 points before allowing the change. A bit diplomatic this way. So when I wake up Saturday morning, I'll count the "4 point" votes and go from there. Hope I made sense with all that.

Just to be clear, your predictions of who wins the spot kick "shootout" has no effect on how many points you'll receive. Only the 120' scoreline will decide.
