I don't miss queuing up for tickets at all. I quite like the internet, though I can't stand Ticketmaster. Oh and vinyl's on the rebound. Big time. Hadn't you noticed? I do miss all the great record stores too.

Not that I miss old corded land line phones...as much as I dislike how I can hear so many conversations that I don't wanna hear! At the park out in nature, in the grocery store line, at the restaureant, at the movie theater, etc.
-
I agree with Randy -- don't miss the lines at all!! The internet is much better! I do miss albums too, but not the scratches and pops! Seems they should be able to come out with a better analog device than a diamond running along a vinyl groove. I do like CDs on a good sound system, but miss the artwork of the album. I miss the way girls looked in the 60s and 70s though I was a bit young then. It was all down hill with looks and music in the 80s!! I also agree with oobu24 that cell phones are the best and worst things in the world! People have no manners any more and it drives me crazy! Oh I have a way of dealing with it oobu24...PM me if u wanna know more

Is anyone here old enough to remember some land line phones having party lines....where you also could hear other people's conversations...and had to hang up and hope those people got off the phone so you could use it? I never liked that at all when I was just a wee lass.

No Scarlett--do you remember the Pony Express too??
-
The Pony Express was just a tad before my time, Erik. But I do remember and miss watching the "Lassie" TV show where Lassie would bark a few times in rapid succession in front of her owner who would instantly know that there was a fire up at the old Wilson place. I miss seeing people with that kind of ability to understand dog language. And dogs that are all-knowing of course. I miss buying Mallo Cups because I used to save all of those cardboard coins inside the wrapper. What I was saving them for I never did discover but it was cool saving something back then while my brother saved baseball cards. I miss the original Batman TV series where every week we'd meet a new villain (I guess that sounds unusual for a girl but there it is). When that show started is when my family got our first color TV set and I felt like we were the luckiest people in the world to see that show in color. I miss "the wet look" for girls in the 60's. All of my friends and I had wet look coats in a variety of colors as I recall. I miss "The Twiggy Look". I miss fringe handbags, mini-skirts, frosted eyeshadow, wide belts ,fishnet stockings, hot pants, bell bottoms, love beads and choker collars. I miss hearing new Beatles songs released over the radio for the very first time as if I were discovering a treasure that would last forever all by myself. I miss repeatedly calling up Top 40 radio stations back in the 60's and requesting bubblegum songs from all my teen idols only to have this one particular DJ actually break one of the records on the air - that's how much he disliked it. I still remember hearing the "crack" sound. Who knows, maybe I had driven him over the edge with my requests. You just don't hear about things like that happening any more. And you never know exactly how much of David Cassidy one DJ can tolerate I guess!

Scarlett...Wouldn't one think that the 'All Knowing' evil eye and eyebrow...would already know that :

The all-knowing evil eye and eyebrow is all-knowing about you, Steven, not about me. So, watch out, he's keeping his eye on you!
-
I'm starting to sound as mystical as you, Steven. Should I be scared?

You got that right, Scarlett! I got my eye on him !!

I was once asked "How do you sleep?" And my reply was I always sleep with one eye open

I remember the party lines where you could hear other people faintly in the background...My cousins lived on a farm at that time and they had the kind of phone that you had to crank the handle to generate an electric signal to contact a switchboard operator! (This was at the time when Paul first met John!)

I miss my old manual typewriter!

no one one the party line ( well sung Joe )

Funny that you should mention Lassie. My dog comes & bothers me at her dinnertime...every day & I often say..."What Lassie? Where is Timmy?" Cos she starts poking me...not barking just trying to get my attention. LOL.

I often want to stop & listen in on their conversations & ask questions...like... what did he say?

Film cameras. I like digital, but there's something about the look of film.
