I grew up around Persians as well... My first introduction to hard work...was as a 10 year old...(1962)...near a town named persia...throwing hay bales that weighed as much as I did...onto a hay wagon...it was very hard and gratifying the farmer was a friend of my dad's his 10 year old son ran the late 50's ford tractor that lifted the haybales up and into the hayloft shortly after....there was a local town cookout carnival my dad and his friend bought food and carnival tickets for us ...it was perfect...timely...and excellent!
