Just got home from North Carolina. Past two days were a blur! Had a great time. Paul seemed really relaxed like he was definitely enjoying himself. Loved hearing Ram On and Let Em In! Can't wait for the Philly shows! I was in Row G of floor 3 and we had a great time. Everybody was fired up and we didn't do much sitting down! I do understand though what its like to be behind someone 6 foot 10' and not being able to see anything. (I'm five foot 8, lol) If 90 percent of your section is sitting down, sometimes you have to just dance in your chair so everyone can enjoy the show. If all the people at the show holding up peace signs in the air could just be a little more considerate of others......

Great show, with the set list much improved over last summer, wonderful to hear 1985 and Ram On, enjoyed those the most. I was in section 115, club level, most of the crowd stood most of the time. How neat was that, the little story about Carolina Moon and him faking us out that he was actually going to sing it before going into Lady Madonna. My late parents loved Carolina Moon. Looked it up, it came out in 1928 and thus was the type of music his Dad would have heard when he was younger. One question....I started to wonder about something I have never thought about at previous concerts.....when does this guy ever take a drink of water? He can sing for hours and yet I never see him refresh himself. Amazing.

Here are some of my shots, was in F2, row S. I need to get a camera with better zoom. I hope I have set this up to where you can see them! Mark, you had GREAT pics, as did everyone who has put them up!! Ok that link didn't work, so I've got to figure another way to get them up here haha

Yeah, if there are some generic instructions for posting pictures, please direct me to them. I'd like to post some of the pix I took. I've been going through them all day - finally got them sorted out -- from the original 450 I am down to about 50. Whew! :

I agree 100% about the set list - LOVED IT!!! Saw Paul drinking water during sound check but not during the concert - you are right - what's up with that???

PHOTOS ARE UP! Here are some pictures I took. My mom (Dar) took some excellent ones. She should have hers up later. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockandroll/ Videos later...
Fantastic !!! Thanks for sharing.
Loved your pictures! I have relatives in Charlotte but unfortunately I can't travel because of my kit kat. Wish Paul was playing Washington this year! I wasn't on the White House guest list. :cry

I hadn't thought bout the water thing until you said something... But that's true! I never saw him take a drink. How does he DO that?!

Here is the link to my pics that Radiance my daughter mentioned. By the way daughter, your set on flickr is great. We had a fun night and very memorable in many ways. My husband and I took Radiance to her first Paul McCartney concert in Columbia in 1993. In June of 1993 we took her to Charlotte. Hence, 17 years later we were all three in Charlotte together seeing Paul again. http//www.flickr.com/photos/dmdreamspics/sets/72157624612178010/

Well, for my first post, I'll say WOW what a show. I'm the husband of Dar, and dad of Radiance (above post). Yes we took Radiance to her inaugural Paul show at age 11. Fast forward 17 years and we were at our fifth PMc concert together. Truly unforgettable show. We were in FL3, 3rd row and our crowd was definately rockin'. I had a green sign with "Welcome Back" on it and it was seen and pointed at by you-know-who a couple of times! We met a lady that had a letter written by Paul to someone in Liverpool dated 1961!. One of the guitar techs came out and got the letter and took it to Paul for him to see and autograph. (of coarse this was a copy of the original) We also almost had a catfight next to us, as a couple of ladies had some words over beer slinging. Again, this was probably the best performance I'v seen by Macca, although I really enjoyed the pre-show of the 2002 tour with the 30 minute freak show. I thought it really built up the crowd before the show and then Paul held up the Hofner behind the sheer curtain.

Worst crowd I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure my friend and I were the front row for a few songs. Plus notes, got waved to and my sign on the big screen.
As I stated earler, my section (204) was up and dancing and having a great time. McCartney made several positive comments about the crowd and he does not say that just to be nice.
I'm glad your section was, the lower levels were terrible. There was maybe only a handful on the left side standing and dancing. Section 2 seemed to be the best section. They kept standing even when half of section 3 would sit, and Paul always talks about how good the crowd is at every show I've been to, even if they are pretty bad.
I was in row G in section 3 and didnt sit down the entire night!! Everyone is my section was up and rocking from the opening notes of Venus & Mars to "the closing note of "The End". I thought the crowd was great, but like all shows it all depends on those people around you. Where were you sitting???
Yeah I was in your section as well, row P, and I'm sorry to say that half of the people in front of me probably up to your row was sitting, even during Live and Let Die. I didn't mind, gave me a great view. I'll upload my photos later and you can clearly see all the sitting.
Unfortunately this happens at most concerts by anybody, you'll always get the dullards who love to sit all the way through a show. It's understandable if it's a ballad, but sitting through any up tempo song is a little strange, don't people want to have fun anymore.I was fortunate to see Paul in Hyde Park and standing was definitely a bonus, but most around me were rocking, especially the youngsters,so it was great.

Also I just wanted to say thanks to NC and Charlotte for the fantastic southern hospitality!!!!! Most everyone is so friendly and laid back!! NY is rude, and everyday is always hustle hustle hustle!! Oh and also for incredible food!! I think I gained 5 lbs while down there!! I'm glad to be home and loved the Queen's City!!!!
Since I live in Charlotte I am curious where you went to eat, glad you enjoyed your stay.
Mac's speed something, I forgot the name!! BBQ food, mac and cheese, greens, it was all amazing!!! Also I liked this setlist and concert better than Citifield too!!

Did anybody else see the guy in Flr 3 that started climbing over the front 4 rows right before the encores trying to get an album signed? I've never seen Brian look so pissed. He even had the photographer take his picture before he threw him out. Guy had been waving his album in my face along with an uncapped sharpie for about 10 minutes when all of a sudden his buddy standing behind hime told him in a thick southern draw"F*** it, go get your autograph. Just climg up there Go!" Was too funny!

Yep, he tapped me on the shoulder and asked if he could cut through. I didn't mind because: a) It would stop him from shouting "Paul" in my ear very loudly and b) I knew he would've been promptly removed. Anyone notice Paul dresses to the left? Maybe only the guys will understand that one but the girls should get a kick out of it Plus, it's still cool to hear some unreleased instrumentals from Paul as we're waiting for the show. He's been using them since 1993 and I wish he would release them already. Anyone from around Greenville/upstate SC?

How do you mean 'dresses to the left'? I don't know if it's unreleased instrumentals. In Arnhem, December 9th 2009, he used mashups. I believe.

This is another reason why I really dislike the whole album-signing business, it makes people get so stupid about it sometimes... :

I saw him......I also saw one of the tour guys escort him to one of the venue guards to be thrown out.
