I still think we should be hearing it here first. Why isnt Paul's website /email alert keeping us as up to date as our local news??
The site is always late in announcing things. Much like how it's late in putting up links for presales.
-
John- is the last time Paul played Charlotte 1993?? (I was there too...11 years old. ) ) I'm thinking it is. He was in Raleigh after that...but I dont think he's been back to Charlotte since.
-
Charlotte boardie pre-party Y/Y? There's parking right across from the artist entrance at the arena, and plenty of places to eat around it.

Darn, wish I could go! Even if I had money for two, I could not get that time off! Happy for everyone in the Charlotte area!!

I am very lucky, Lynne. My summer classes end July 8th, and fall classes don't start until August.

He was in Raleigh, I think it was 2002. I will probably try and get tix for Charlotte if he doesn't announce Raleigh, because that's closer to me.

' He probably won't do Raleigh since he's doing Charlotte.

WOW- This is SO AWESOME that Paul is announcing all these dates!!!!!!!!!
-
The Charlotte Observer just posted headline that McCartney will play the Time Warner Arena in Charlotte NC on 7/28. McCartney has not played Charlotte since 1993. BTW - do you have to do anything special to get presale tickets.
-
Check out the Charlotte thread.

Charlotte is an excellent city to go for concerts. I went to a concert there in 2007 and it was phenomenal. Venus, city, everything. Good luck to those who will be trying to go!
-
John- I dont think he announced dates all at one time in the 90's either. Bc I remember my parents got tickets for Columbia SC bc we thought that was the closest he was coming. Then, after we got tix to Columbia, he adds the Charlotte date. (This was back in 1993). Maybe it's just a Paul thing. haha

The arena is pretty small, only going into the 200 level. There won't be a bad seat in the house.
-
Yes! Yes! Yes!!!! My mom called me at work today to let me know!! I went screaming through the halls!! My kids thought I had lost my mind, and then they found out why and understood! There are a lot of resteraunts around the arena. The arena is ok. I've been to several concerts at the arena, and haven't had a bad seat yet! This is GREAT!!!!!!! So so excited!

You are right, Charlotte was added after but it was much easier for me to do both then, which I did with both Columbia and Charltote. Nashville and Charlotte will be virtually impossible to do both, too close together on the calendar, can't take the whole week off. May just try to sell the Nville tickets and pick up Charlotte. Actually, I should say ticket, my wife can't go. Probably trying to sell a single ticket is like trying to sell a two bedroom house, hard to do.

Oh this is the former Bobcat Arena! I thought so! I saw Josh Groban there in 2007. EXCELLENT VENUE. It's quite small. No chance of a bad seat for any of you. I remember being on the floor when I went to the above said concert there and how amazing it was.

John Mackintosh:
I saw him in Charlotte on June 15, 1993 when he played what was then the Blockbuster Pavilion. Great show, 15th row seats. Of course, he does this to me after I am lined up to go to Nashville. Charlotte is two hours from here, Nashville seven. PLEASE release all dates together like in the 1990s!!!!!!!!!!!!
The infamous "Robbie's Bit" show, was there also. Unfortunately, I could only get lawn "seats".

I sat in the last row of the upper deck for Fleetwood Mac and it is fine. Good sound system and huge monitors.

As for restaurants, I have always enjoyed "Rockbottom" which is a nice bar restaurant with it's own brewery.

rockbottom is definitely a great resteraunt!! Anyone heard anything about presales? I hope we can have a meet-up!
