mustangsally10:
The US Senate came to an agreement and looks like the shutdown is over for at least a few months. The republicans have ended their hissy fit jeopardizing the world economy. Thank you President Obama for standing up to the econ-terrorists.
What some senate republicans had to say about the deal:
"The deal we've got, you know the old saying 'we may have left a little bit on the table?' We left everything on the table," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said. "This has been a very bad two weeks for the Republican brand, conservatism." Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona called the political stalemate, which rattled financial markets and partially shuttered the federal government, "one of the most shameful chapters I have seen in the years I've spent in the Senate."

next year is another election year for them. love doris

Sean Hannity Gets Fact-Checked Hard On Obamacare Claims: "...[Salon reporter] Stern accused the Fox News host of using "fake evidence" to "exploit people?s ignorance and falsely point to imaginary boogeymen," deeming it all a part of the "Fox News lie machine." Paul Cox and his wife Michelle, for example, appeared on the show claiming that their construction business has been hit hard because of Obamacare, giving them no choice but to significantly cut employee hours. Stern noted that Obamacare has no effect on any business with less than 50 employees. "In our brief conversation on the phone, Paul revealed that he has only four employees. Why the cutback on his workforce? ?Well,? he said, ?I haven?t been forced to do so, it?s just that I?ve chosen to do so. I have to deal with increased costs.? What costs? And how, I asked him, is any of it due to Obamacare? There was a long pause, after which he said he?d call me back. He never did." ..." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/18/sean-hannity-fact-checked-obamacare_n_4124699.html

California to Hit the Kochs Hard With Record Campaign Finance Abuse Fine!: "...California Fair Political Practices Commission and the state?s Attorney General Kamala Harris filed a lawsuit alleging that the funds had been improperly documented, resulting in a $1 million dollar fine ? the largest in the state?s history for such a violation ? and the forfeiture of $15 million in invalid campaign contributions now belongs to the state?s general fund. ?These groups exploit loopholes in state law to undermine the clear purpose of the law,? said Ann Ravel, chair of the California Fair Political Practices Commission. ..." http://aattp.org/aattp-california-hit-kochs-hard-record-campaign-finance-abuse-fine/

Net headline on MSN today: "White House Knew Millions Would Lose Their Insurance" because of Obamacare--what's up with that? Why??? Many cancellations of health insurance have already been sent to consumers, it was claimed.
-
Those are independently insured people. When they all end up getting much better deals via the exchanges, no one will be complaining then.
-
-
Those insurance companies that are dropping people from their plans are "junk-insurance" plans. These companies are unwilling to comply with the standards set by the ACA, which -- among many pro-consumer components -- mandate that 85% of every premium dollar benefits THE CUSTOMER. Don't believe the misleading crap on FIXED - er, FOX NEWS.

To be fair, there is no law prohibiting women from driving in Saudi Arabia. They simply are not issued licenses. I have driven in the kingdom without restriction.
