It's shocking how the wingnuts will vote for a vulture capitalist lying crook and against their own interests They don't know the issues well enough to say why they support mittens and how he would help with their lives and with the country I should be used to it by now but the cognitive dissonance still stuns me

"You get more flies with sugar...than you do with salt" ~ An old midwestern colloquialism that I heard a farmer say in a restaurant once at lunchtime. Now, that's a political thought!

Why are only liberals called out when our zeal sometimes crosses the line? Obama's haters have made nasty comments, just short of calling him the N-word, and they seem to always get a free pass. It is a futile effort to attempt to have a respectable debate with conservatives. They lack whatever it is that's needed for a little thing called logic to manifest in their minds. Middle-income citizens who vote Republican (within reason) are not the issue. However, middle-income citizens who rally behind this crop of con-men who purport themselves to be "conservative" are just plain idiots.

The problem with 'arguing with idiots' is that the idiots also believe they are 'arguing with idiots'. It's a two way street. It's to note that it's also a futile effort to debate with a liberal.

... And speaking of lying, it should come as no suprise to you that Obama completely and utterly lied about Paul Ryan's position on Welfare and Medicare...such a stupid lie....
And what would that lie be, pray tell? And be specific for once. I can't tell you how many times mustangsally10 and I have provided irrefutable facts and examples -- only to have them completely un-acknowledged by you and others who share your flawed perspective.
rich n:
...he should stick to the more lies which take up more of a challenge to rebut, such as 'where was Obama born' or 'does he really have the college degree he claims to have'...
Name ONE other President whose collegiate credientials had EVER been suspect...or had ever been an issue (besides the under-achieving Dubya). Name ONE. Obama's college record is another b.s. attempt of the righties' desire to de-legitimize this man's Presidency. And we all know why. Your side just can't stand, can't bear, can't accept, can't cope with the fact that one of "them" lives in our White House. JMHO.
Your 'irrefutable facts' comes from sources like media matters, daily kos, etc and you wonder why you I don't take these 'irrefutable facts' seriously?!?!?!? LOL...I can't wait to hear these outlet's spin on the Biden comments from earlier today...(he's a gross retard...I don't care how insensitive that sounds...it's a legit /astute observation which in stating, helps me from truly going off on what a f**ktard this guy really is) But to your question, on the very day (or following day) that Ryan was selected, Obama went on the attack and accused him of trying to undermine an emergency aid package Ryan signed in favor of (farm drought aid)...LOL...another freak-tard in action...fortunately the polls reflect the weariness of these actions...wait until the 'common sense-laden focus on the actual issue' debates come forth and Obama gets caught with his thumb up his arse...it will no longer be relatively even in the polls...all his 'take from the rich, give to the poor, but you won't have a job, but we'll give you some candy' crap will go by the wayside, just as his hold on the most important office in the world will go. What's Obama going to do when Paul Ryan presents him with actual video proof, saying 'yo you dumb clucky one - here is video evidence of me signing the aid package you said I tried to derail'???? But I'm pretty sure media matters, daily kos, etc etc etc won't even cover the Biden story or the Obama lie (or will put a very pretty spin on it in Obama's favor...LOL)[/list]
Rich, you realize that the number of times you mention Media Matters and Daily Kos dwarfs the number of times that mustangsally and audi actually reference them, right? And if you can't do anything better than 'blah, blah, blah liberal trash' to deconstruct an argument, the source of the information is as irrelevant as your lame attempt at refuting it. And you keep referencing these "polls" that would be indicative of a supposed Obama-weariness on the part of the majority of voters, yet most polling -- be it mainstream, alternative-liberal, or otherwise -- indicates the exact opposite. Ignoring the amusing hypocrisy of demanding pointed facts only from 'Rich's List of Approved News Sources' yet making vague, baseless claims to advance your argument, the polling that shows Obama with an advantage over Romney at this point in time is validated by a staunch conservative such as yourself resorting to childish name-calling when discussing the opposition. audi calls Romney a hypocrite for his criticisms of Obama's private-sector inexperience despite his running mate's similarly lacking resume. You call Biden a retard and a f***tard because, well, you just don't like him. If you're going to be such a hateful, poor sport now, I can't imagine how insufferable you'll be on Election Day, regardless of the outcome.
Notice how certain folks never respond to you after you take 'em to that proverbial woodshed?
You're joking, right? You, 'service_gamer' and 'Mustang' are all off your rockers when it comes to politics...thus I simply chose to fight my battles efficiently...for example, 'mustang' posted something about 20-someodd weeks of growth...what wasn't mentioned was that this growth is 1.5% and is the lowest (for this many weeks into recovery after a recession) in history...and ah 'oh by the way', she forgot to mention unemployment creeping back up to 8.3%...Just a small sampling of what I'm talking about...and you have a race baiting vice president...and just because I'm sort of a 'white sheep' in a largely puerto rican and black family (everyone on my dad's side of the family, including my dad) doesn't take me out of your boat (since YOU like to play the race card on a regular basis)...But don't let a few facts get in the way of your fun...
By 'fighting your battles more efficiently' do you mean ignoring this thread for days on end as mustangsally and audi post damning article after damning statistic against the Romney campaign and only returning to the fray after Joe Biden makes a faux pas? First, let's examine that. If you weren't such a hater, you'd realize that if the Obama campaign was indeed playing the "race" card, it'd probably backfire. Polling data suggests that black voters overwhelmingly support the president's re-election; when it's already a slam dunk, why risk turning off white and other minority voters by this supposedly obvious pandering? Let me guess, is it because Joe Biden is a "retard?" Because I know it has nothing to do with your blind, misinformed hatred of the president... (Furthermore, remember Rush Limbaugh's little quote about how "you can tell you're winning an argument with a liberal when he plays the "race" card?" I think that you and your ilk have officially changed that to "you can tell you're winning an argument with a conservative when he plays the "race card" card.) Additionally, growth, especially on the heels of the worst financial collapse in our country's history, save the Great Depression, is growth. Undermine it all you want, but facts are facts: Obama inherited an absolute mess from President Bush and the GOP and is slowly but surely turning it around -- I know, I know, go ahead and deflect the issue by predictably crying that all we liberals do is blame Bush. How about explaining it with a football analogy? Bush was our starting QB and he got sacked at our own two-yard line; Obama takes his place under center. The smart move is to chip away a few yards at a time and get a first down, simultaneously advancing up the field and giving the team some breathing room. It's the smart play, but some fans REALLY don't want Obama to be the QB, so instead of applauding his deft navigation of a stressful, unenviable scenario that he inherited due to Bush's mistakes, they're complaining that he hasn't scored a touchdown yet. (The full analogy is far more complicated, as the more conservative teammates won't even concede that Obama got a first down, and have spent every waking minute since trying to explain to the officials that it violates the original intention of the NFL rules, and when the officials review the play and still uphold it, the conservative teammates don't accept it and instead claim that the official must have had an adverse reaction to his medication and wasn't in his right mind when he made the decision, and instead of continuing to aid the team's cause and work with Obama, the conservative teammates vow that they'll find another way to over-turn the first down... seriously, I could go on and on; this started as a half-joke, but it's weird how apt an analogy football provides in this scenario ) PS - I know you meant it as an insult, but I'm honored to be lumped into the same group as mustangsally and audi, but a little guilty - they contribute far more to this ongoing discussion than I.

Jumping to conclusions are we. Where did I state I didn't believe what it said? Just making a comment on how you presented the article. Chill out. Not everyone's an extremist like yourself.
In the past, we've had issues with folks judging the tone of others' positions without making one themselves around here. I look forward to your constructive contributions.
Here we go again.

Duly noted. Now, can you stop playing referee and make a political comment? This is the second time you've done this (both times toward the liberals here), so I'm beginning to question your motives, kiddo.

It's a hot issue. I definitely have my point of view. But women should have the last word on that one.
And my view is that women have the choice if it's a rape case or incest.

Yep, that's why it's important to deconstruct your opponents argument when on the defensive and validate your opinions with substantive, fact-based backing (as opposed to passing off op-ed pieces as fact), rather than simply make vague references to idiots and passive-aggressively implying that the liberals are out to lunch. Doing this is a good way to distinguish those that are 'arguing with idiots' from idiots that think they are arguing with idiots.

It's gettin' late, but I'll exchange views with ya'. Glad you brought up the oft-referenced "rape/incest" scenario. Some claim that abortion is "murder." They're entitled to that position. However, if they really believe that it's murder, then it shouldn't matter if the pregnancy is resulted from rape. The fetus is still a "life," right? Pro-lifers who say that it's OK to abort a fetus that came from rape are by default "pro-choice."

In that scenario yes, But I'm strongly against, to the point of outlawing, abortion simply because "I wasn't ready" or "I didn't want baby". But making one legal and the other not would be pointless.

This is the one issue where I can absolutely appreciate both points of view. It's a shame that those who oppose abortion are the same ones who oppose birth control education*. And, as evidenced by Bristol Palin, abstinence ain't so reliable. *=Now THAT's idiotic.

Found this information interesting as it combines music with a candidate--apparently Mitt Romney has been using the Silversun Pickups song "Panic Switch" at his events without the band's permission. Nice job of modeling good behavior. Anyway a member of the band had this to say: Aubert says, "We don't like people going behind our backs, using our music without asking, and we don't like the Romney campaign. We're nice, approachable people. We won't bite. Unless you're Mitt Romney!" ETA: Aubert also says Romney's a victim of irony because "he is inadvertently playing a song that describes his whole campaign."
There are countless scenarios of Republican politicians using rock artists' music without their permission. Can't blame those politicians: If they only used music of like-minded musicians, they would be limited to country and -- well -- that's it: Country.
/ the most surreal example of this was Bush Sr using Springsteen's "Born In The USA" as him campaign anthem...
