I can't stand that song. And yes, Here Today is beautiful and should be kept.

I don't care if you like it. It would be a great opener.

Venus and Mars/Rockshow will be SO anti-climactic, given that he just did that. Even truncated, it takes away from the WOW factor. He needs to do something he has NEVER done before, like:
He needs a ROCKER to open. He has already done the POP openers with HELLO GOODBYE and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR. -
I always thought I've Had Enough would be a good opener.

Yeah, I agree, something GRITTY from the 70s would be very cool!

I hope he doesn't drop Here Today
Great song. I just think he will because it disappeared in 2005 after 2002. Seems likely it will disappear again. In St Louis he was looking my way when he just went into the intro without announcing anything before the song. To me it felt like he was saying, "Here we go..".

I think he has to switch openers because they are going to want a new DVD/CD for this tour. The last was in 2009. Before that was 2005, 2004 (red square) and 2002 Driving USA. All signs pointing to Venus and Mars/Rockshow. Though it could be anything new. Also with the rumor of All Things Must Pass, looks like he's dropping 'Something' which was featured on the Good Evening New York City DVD (Concert For George version), the uk version on Back in the US. Leading me to believe he will also drop A Day In The Life as it was on Good Evening New York City. Based on not wanting to repeat his previous DVD, to make a new one look interesting, I think he will drop the following as well. Paperback Writer Here Today Juniors Farm The Night Before And I Love Her I've Just Seen A Face I Will I've Got A Feeling Day Tripper Possibly 'Dance Tonight' and 'Sing The Changes'. That eliminates around 12 songs, leaving room for 12. My prediction: Venus & Mars/Rockshow All Things Must Pass Listen To What The Man Said With A Little Luck Letting Go Lovely Rita Silly Love Songs The rest would be too hard to predict.
Based off the shows we have so far....I don't expect a DVD from this tour. However, I think that some massive tour box thing is coming in the distance with a culmination of all these little mini-tours documented. He makes more money on deluxe sets. And...I REALLY hope a lot of those songs you mentioned are gone and replaced with the others you suggest.
Is that just speculation on your part or do you have an inside source? I think the past 3 tours; Up and Coming, Goodevening, and On The Run were just different legs of the same tour with slight song changes. All the videos/screens set up were the same. This is a full change of everything. About time for a new DVD/CD of a Paul McCartney tour. They should also release the St Louis DVD in it's entirety unedited. Call it: "Paul McCartney - On The Run in St Louis"

An opener is a tough one, you want it to set the mood, but not give away too much. For all we know, he will open with something off his new CD. But not likely.

that should be his final performance.

I'm tired of that tribute already...he needs a new one.

I honestly think he should stop the tributes already. They are gratuitous and everyone knows he cares about John and George. They have estates who will keep their legacies going!

Here's a likely prediction: VENUS AND MARS JET ALL MY LOVING LETTING GO ONE AFTER 909 HIGHWAY LET ME ROLL IT THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD BACKSEAT OF MY CAR 1985 MAYBE IM AMAZED CALICO SKIES HOPE OF DELIVERANCE AND I LOVE HER BLACKBIRD HERE TODAY BEAUTIFUL NIGHT LOVELY RITA ELEANOR RIGBY SOMETHING HI HI HI BAND ON THE RUN BACK IN THE USSR I'VE GOT A FEELING A DAY IN THE LIFE LET IT BE LIVE AND LET DIE HEY JUDE encore GOODNIGHT TONIGHT DAY TRIPPER SILLY LOVE SONGS encore 2 YESTERDAY GET BACK UNCLE ALBERT GOLDEN SLUMBERS

Although I still think it could be better, I'd be quite, darn-skippy happy with that set.
-
I'd be very happy with that...but I think it's asking too much!
-
I think Goodnight Tonight is a definite inclusion.
-
-
Goodnight tonight would be a perfect closer number

If they do GOODNIGHT TONIGHT I wonder how they will pull of that Mexican vihuela intro, the fast acoustic part. I suppose Rusty could play it on a nylon string Spanish guitar, like the one he used on TIL THERE WAS YOU, but with a capo. Still, the vihuela has a distinct sound. Denny Laine played it on the recording and live. Or maybe they will just do a revamped version.
