Can I just say I do not like this “upgraded” forum? There are too many instances of not being sure who is being spoken to and when.
We never had these kinds of miscommunications on the old board!
Sorry, rant over.@njr You are correct! I certainly didn't mean to start a fight with my prior post, but the formatting of these boards is not good. As I said when this latest redesign debuted, I think Paul should fire his whole website team.
FYI, in my first attempt to post this (which I quickly deleted), I discovered a major cause for confusion: If you are looking at a post and click "reply," it doesn't quote the post you're responding to, but puts your reply right after the latest post by the person you're responding to -- so it looks like you're answering something completely different than what you're actually responding to. That's just terrible web design.
I said the same thing a few days ago . In any other forum, you see a comment, hit the reply button, to reply, and Bob's your uncle ( as we say here in the UK. Its ok I don't know what that says means also) Fir some reason, in this forum, there is a "quote" button too. I have never even seen a quote button before
I am in a Hugh Jackman forum and we have a quote button. But you can also just reply but you need to give it some context so everyone knows what you’re talking about. If you have brand new news, you also just post it.
And here ya go:https://www.ecenglish.com/learnenglish/lessons/why-do-we-say-bobs-your-uncle#
Very nice touch, in explaining "Bob's Your Uncle". Thanks. Some folks say, "Bob's your uncle, and Fannies your aunt". But perhaps it might be a good idea to just leave it there.

@wandy A friend of mine in 10th grade told me this saying (keep in mind, in the U.S. your fanny is your butt, not what you Brits call it!) “Turned around, my dear Fanny? Imagine my dear fanny turned around.”

An awful lot of musical icons from the sixties and seventies are 80 or older now. The next decade is going to be rough.

I watched every episode of The Addams Family when it was originally on in the ‘60s! R.I.P. Lisa.
