Michael Lerner, Actor in ‘Barton Fink,’ ‘Harlem Nights’ and ‘Eight Men Out,’ Dies at 81
The cigar-loving Oscar nominee also appeared in a movie for housemate Yoko Ono
“Housemate?” Did he live in the Dakota?

Found the answer on Wikipedia:
Although his then-wife still thought he should become an English professor, Lerner still wanted to be an actor[5]; he received a Fulbright Scholarship to study theater in London for two years, at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. While there, he lived in a flat with Yoko Ono and John Lennon. In 1968, he appeared in Ono's short experimental film Smile, among other projects.[6] "She made a movie comprised of bare asses walking on a treadmill", he once said. "I’m in it and so is Paul McCartney. Plus I’m doing narration about censorship and all that crap."

Mary Quant, Mastermind of Swinging ’60s Style, Dies at 93
Some compared her impact on the fashion world with The Beatles’ impact on pop music.
She shot to the top of the fashion scene at the time when The Beatles and Rolling Stones dominated the music world, and she was forever linked to the heady freedoms of the 1960s.
The clothes became wildly popular and were worn by models such as Twiggy and Pattie Boyd, who was then married to Beatles guitarist George Harrison.

One of my classmates from high school died on the Edmund Fitzgerald that Gordon Lightfoot wrote the song about.
-
Sigh... Gordon Lightfoot was an excellent songwriter, and I'm a little sad that I lost track of him after he stopped having hits. I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl circa 1975, after "Sundown" had been all over the charts, and it was an excellent show -- no frills, no special effects, just music.

I always thought he was British

@njr Wasn't there a story that "The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times" was really 32 times. Gordon left the sound recording as is, but correct the number in Live concerts?
