Thanks everyone. Really. It means a lot. Willy is really having a hard time too. He misses him & what we did (dog park) together. Every time I go near the door the dog starts crying.

Bruce M.:
Sending good thoughts, oobu24. When my dad died several years ago, I found listening to "The End of the End" really comforting. I always cried while it was playing, but it was a healthy, cleansing cry.
I lost my dad in Jan. and was listening to Little Willow on the Flaming Pie CD driving from Louisville to Atlanta on Monday. Thought of dad and had a good cry.
-
Bruce and NancyR, my condolences.

My Dad died on a Tuesday Afternoon. Since he died 35 years ago one would think it didn't matter anymore, but I think of him everyday. So many songs remind me of him. Golden Slumbers, Tuesday Afternoon ( Moody Blues,) even lots of groovy upbeat songs like Pinball Wizard ( The Who.) The Wall (Pink Floyd.) so many... Music brings back memories forever.â¤ï¸ð??¼ð??¶â¤ï¸

That is so true. Weird coincidence--my dad died on a Wednesday. I was born on a Weds. and my birthday this year was on Wednesday!

I just heard on Cnn Mohammad Ali dead at 74 love doris
-
Saw Paul Simon tonight, and he stopped in the middle of The Boxer (during one of the encores) to tell us all about Muhammad Ali's passing then continued on with the song. Made it all the more powerful. I think most of the audience was tearing up at the end.
-
Wow, Paul Simon did that during the Boxer... Wow... So very sad to hear the sad news. Ali was a true legend. Remembering when he changed his name from Cassious Clay to Mohammed Ali, didn't fully understand it at the time. http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/news/flashback-the-day-muhammad-ali-met-the-beatles-20160604 He was also known for being a notable Conscientious Objector due to religious reasons, against fighting in the Vietnam War. He was a great showman and the way I remember him, was as a great role model for athletes and so many other people. To stand up and declare for yourself...I am the Greatest!!! Ali you are!!
-
Daddy followed sports very closely. He said that CC (he never made the name switch, lol) was the greatest that had ever been. High praise, indeed, from him.
-
My Dad loved boxing, he was a boxer on the U.S. Army. He had a storage of reel to reel boxing footage tapes that we would watch together when I was a little girl. I remember my Dad and I watching Muhammad Ali and other boxers too. I remember my Dad explaining how he was Cassius Clay and why he changed his name. *When the evil psychopaths destroyed my childhood home the reel to reel tapes got destroyed too. But I figure Mr. Ali has that covered too now he is in a better place. RIP Muhammad Ali ð?â¤ï¸ Edit: yes I know how to spell "Muhammad" I have a visual impairment in my left eye. Thanks so much. And my Dad was a Civil Rights supporter taught me ALL about Mr. Ali. Not just boxing.â??ï¸â¤ï¸

It's hard to believe someone who was a giant like Ali is gone. Rip and much love to his family.
-
Watching him light the Olympic Torch was one of the coolest television events I have ever watched. He was far more than just a boxer.
-
It is so ironic I was just in Louisville, KY (his birthplace) at AROTR and the first day got rained out so had to move the acts to the 6th floor auditorium of the Ali Center, which is right next to the festival grounds and is used for many of the speakers, acts, etc, during the 5 days. FYI, It is spelled Muhammad Ali/Cassius Clay He was born the same year as Macca. (turned 74 in Jan.)
