FWIW, his set is scheduled from 7:45 pm - 10 pm (central time zone) on Friday night. We'll see how much of it ends up on the live stream, hopefully a lot of it.
And of course I will be at work then!!

LonelyRoad:
As of now a 9pm thunderstorm is predicted for Friday night, right around Band On The Run time "Well the rain exploded with a mighty crash, as we fell into the sun, and the first one said to the second one there, I hope you're having fun."
It's Chicago. Today is only Wednesday. That forecast will probably change.

Make sure to try a Duo's (or Uno's) deep dish Chicago pizza!

OK, he isn't likely to play any of these, but if Macca takes a little downtime and decides to retool the show i'd love to hear every single suggestion in this article live. if even 2 or 3 made a new show i'd be thrilled. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/ct-paul-mccartney-lolla-20150729-story.html RamblinRed

Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" (1971): What's crazier, this multi-part song or the fact that you've never performed it in concert? Imagine all of Grant Park waving by lake singing, "Hands across the water (water!)." I did a karaoke version of this once, and it killed, and I can't even sing. "Monkberry Moon Delight" (1971): Another "Ram" oddity, but this one is an unhinged piano ("up my nose"!) rocker. Give die-hards an opportunity to elbow one another and exclaim: "Oh, my God, he's playing 'Monkberry Moon Delight'!" "Little Lamb Dragonfly" (1973): This overlooked "Red Rose Speedway" beaut is a lilting, melancholy and strangely emotional variation on your patented scene-shifter songs. Make the unfamiliar wonder, "What is this gorgeous song?" "Love in Song" (1975): This "Venus and Mars" minor-key sleeper has a haunting melody and nice build. More people should know it. "Silly Love Songs" (1976): Here's one you've actually played live ? but not since you were leading Wings almost 40 years ago. Don't be ashamed of one of your biggest hits, Paul. That bass line alone would make it a highlight. "With a Little Luck" (197: Another long-neglected No. 1 hit with an indelible melody. Take some liberties with an arrangement for once and play it as if you were recording it anew. "Getting Closer" (1979): It wasn't a smash, and it came from the unjustly maligned "Back to the Egg" album, yet this potent rocker would pin back Lolla fans' ears.

Ah he's not the only one. I'm just hoping "Temporary Secretary" turns up on the stream...

Thank you!! Some good choices! .

Paul will never play those. But nice try!

One of the Chicago music critics has an article in today's Chicago Tribune in a form of an open letter for Paul to play some daring, surprise songs for the festival. Unfortunately, some of his choices would not be realistic either because Paul's 73 year old voice couldn't handle it (i.e. Monk berry Moon Delight) or because the song is too complicated for Paul to just wing it (i.e. Uncle Albert). I sent him a reply and listed my 3 choices that would be relatively easy. They are: Mull of Kintyre (he's already done it on occasion and his voice is made for this song) Hope of Deliverance (again the bands already done it and it sounds fantastic) Put It There (great little acoustic song that Paul hasn't done since the Flowers tour). For those attending the Festival, let's only hope he would do any of the above. He will probably do Temporary Secretary which will also be great. While Temporary Secretary was a daring choice at the beginning of the tour, I would have much preferred Ever Present Past. I would think that Wix could do his Keyboard magic on Ever Present Past equally well. That is a seriously neglected song in Macca's Catalog in my opinion.
