Does anybody knows if Paul will get back to London after the show (the end of the "Out There" tour)?
-
I adjusted my scheduled assuming that the broadcast was tonight. I'm disappointed that it isn't but oh well. I'm also a little sick of these partial broadcasts. I always assume it was because of the whole Beatles royalty BS and/or Paul's stingyness. Hopefully "Temporary Secretary" turns up on the broadcast same with "Hope for the Future".

nice report on the soundcheck heard all over downtown Chicago. http://www.redbull.com/us/en/music/stories/1331738464041/paul-mccartneys-epic-soundcheck-heard-all-over-chicago

We were on the south end of the park, behind the stage, so things were much harder to hear. Guess we should have moved farther north.

I was down there during this and had no idea til it was too late. I drove straight down Lake Shore Drive while he was on stage, too. Should've rolled the windows down! I'm glad Letting Go is still getting his attention, albeit in soundcheck. Still one of my favorite Wings songs. Looking forward to this show!

Enjoy! I'm not going. Festivals are not my thing, not even for Paul.

The article mentions some songs being left off the PA and the writer mentioned not spoiling anything. Thoughts?

Have a good time everyone!

It's VERY hot at Lolla with a godsend of wind, a lot of buzz and many Macca fans. It's pretty wild with, sadly, tons of very messed-up kids. We're feeling OLD, my friends. We seriously have never heard of ANY of these other bands (except Metallica who I can't say I know anything except their name) but there are a lot of folks in the same boat as us. We hope to get relatively close but there is a massive crowd at the Samsung Galaxy stage where Paul is performing later. The sound quality is typical of an outdoor event. I'm actually kind of glad that the "livestream" on redbull tv isn't "livestreaming" until Sunday so I can watch it. But promoting it as being a "livestream" is completely wrong. I know people were really looking forward to seeing it genuinely "live" on redbull and are blowing up Twitter about it. Hope Paul didn't have anything to do with the b.s.

I'm afraid he has, since he's the only artist with restrictions. And that's a shame, since the line-up has enough interesting acts. Father John Misty on the stream as we speak, has the album of the year so far. Have fun!

Checking out the line-up for today. Paul McCartney, Father John Misty, The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, Flying Lotus, BADBADNOTGOOD, all on one day, pretty good.

Yeah, I remember when they streamed his Bonnaroo concert and it just stopped at the 1 hour mark. Goofy restrictions. I caved in last minute and decided not to go today. It is a HOT one! Hit 90F at one point. Too hot for me. I made it through the 2011 Wrigley Field concert and 2013 Miller Park concert where it was in the 90's. Paul was drenched on stage, but still kicked butt. That was enough for me. Should still be a great concert for those lucky enough to have a decent view. Been enjoying all the Macca tunes playing on Chicago radio today.

What is the deal with Paul's restrictions? Is it because of The Beatles songs? I never quite understood. I heard MPL was a total ass when they broadcasted São Paulo.

That's really disappointing if Paul pulled it last minute but I find it hard to believe. The guy is a billionaire and it's not like live streaming the event would have done anything to his fee and it only would give more people a chance to see him rather than on YouTube clips. From the texts I've gotten from disappointed friends, this took what could have been a "must-see home event" and instead turned off a lot of people. But it's still exciting for those of us here in the heat. At least the sun is going down. BTW, The War on Drugs are good. Father John Misty is, too. But he seems solidly baked and he was kind of mocking The War on Drugs who are playing at the same time on different stages. Getting closer!

Nice you've seen Father John Misty! Haha, yeah, I guess that's his style. His Instagram-account is classic material as well: https://instagram.com/fatherjohnmisty/?hl=en Regarding the stream, he (or other big acts) barely give(s) permission to stream any of the festival gigs. I meant he's only artist on the scheme listed as "Highlights US & Canada only". South America is lucky with all these McCartney broadcasts, many are complete as well, "warts and all". I didn't mean he pulled out, I'm saying there's now the earlier mentioned sign.

I'm suppose to be there, my wrist band is at the hotel n I'm stuck in California... : : : No stream luck? Doesn't work on my kindle
