Thanks for using my pic! I took probably 50+ pics last night, although some didn't come out so good when the lights were so bright. I'm gonna upload them all to a Flickr album and then I'll share the link.

Walliebaby, those pics are great, thanks so much for sharing! I took something like 120 pictures last night that I'm going to upload to a Flickr album...I'll share the link out later.

Ok! I'm back! Got home at around 1:30 am! I have to say, Paul's voice has never sounded better! Maybe that's why he didn't do two nights in a row in Boston this time! (Last time I went to the second night and his voice was pretty tired.) Seriously, he has never sounded better. I don't know what that man is doing, but he's doing it right. At one point in the show he jumped up and down in the same spot for a good 30 seconds... no jet lag I guess! His plane was delayed and the soundcheck was delayed. I was up in the soundcheck group and we all started to wonder if something was up when it was 4:00 and we still had no word. But, finally we went down and had a great soundcheck! Full length, not abbreviated in any way. Show started later than expected, I heard the lines to get in were HUGE and they didn't let people in until around 6:30? Show was UNBELIEVABLE. Like I said, he has never sounded better in the 5 concerts that I've seen him. I got on the big screen a bunch of times, wish I had a photo or video of me being projected behind Paul! ! He threw in a few "new to Boston" songs like Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite and Another Day. I don't take notes during the show so I'm sure someone else can sum it up better, but this rates at the top of my Paul concert experiences. Being in the third row helped as well! I'll post some pictures shortly... But I heard lots of concert people saying it was the best show they've ever been to, and everyone I saw in the masses left smiling.

^yes, that's right, they didn't let us in until 6:30pm! The scene outside was madness...I made it from my house to the Boston Garden in a little under an hour. It took me another hour to get from the Garden to Landsdowne St. (where I had a parking pass for the garage)...the sea of people was insane. At one point my car was COMPLETELY swarmed and surrounded by people (as were the cars behind and in front of me)...we sat there for over 10 min. A Boston policeman knocked on my window and told me to just lean on the horn and drive, haha! It worked. This was all to go the 50 ft from the Landsdowne St. turn to the garage! I'll write up a proper review later this week but for now, first here was last night's set: Eight Days a Week Junior's Farm All My Loving Listen to What the Man Said Let Me Roll It/Foxy Lady Paperback Writer My Valentine Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five The Long and Winding Road Maybe I'm Amazed I've Just Seen a Face We Can Work It Out Another Day And I Love Her Blackbird Here Today Your Mother Should Know Lady Madonna All Together Now Lovely Rita Mrs. Vandebilt Eleanor Rigby Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! Something Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Band on the Run Back in the U.S.S.R. Let It Be Live and Let Die Hey Jude Encore: Day Tripper Hi, Hi, Hi I Saw Her Standing There Encore 2: Yesterday Helter Skelter Golden Slumbers Carry That Weight The End Lots to write later, but off the top of my head: -During Live and Let Die, there were huge bursts of flames and fireworks(!) that went off in the middle of the song and at the end...it was amazing! I posted a pic on my twitter (@blackbookblur) but it doesn't do it justice -Not gonna lie, I cried several times, during Here Today, Something, Blackbird, and Hey Jude -After the 4th song, he took his jacket off, rolled up his sleeves, and said "THAT is going to be the ONLY wardrobe change tonight!" It was all about the music. -Paul alone onstage playing acoustic on Here Today, Blackbird, Yesterday was incredible...dead silent with 30,000 people quietly singing along while he played and sang them flawlessly -He very simply said "I wrote this one for Linda" before starting Maybe I'm Amazed...again, I wept -After the ~3rd or 4th song: "You guys are the new house record for Fenway Park! *cheers from crowd* Know who we beat to set that record? *silence* OURSELVES!" -Some person upfront held up a sign saying "I have my original 1966 Beatles tour banner" to which Paul said, "Sorry, that was before my time!" -The massive crowd singalong during Hey Jude was simply amazing! -Everyone was pogo jumping during the double-time end to Mrs. Vandebilt, including Paul! -The 3-way guitar battle at the end of The End was fab -"This one is for all the Wings fans" was how he introduced Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five...so good! -He told a REALLY funny story about watching Hendrix in the late 1960s when Jimi good-naturedly ribbed Eric Clapton (who was also in the audience) -Some of the footage/photos behind him during some songs were just brilliant. For example, the Beatles from the MMT film during Your Mother Should Know, pics of Paul and George together from throughout their lives during Something, pics of Paul and Michael with their mum and Linda with his girls/James during Your Mother Should Know, etc -He played his original Beatles-era Hofner bass, Epiphone Casino, and Epiphone Texan acoustic (the one with the Detroit Red Wings sticker) for most of the songs. He also played his psychedelic painted upright piano that he wrote on in Cavendish Avenue during the 60s. (he also played his colorful Les Paul, a sunburst Les Paul, a Martin acoustic, and what looked like a Gibson 12-string acoustic) -Paul's voice sounded UNBELIEVABLE!!! The man sings all of the songs in the original keys and STILL sounds flawless -The band is INCREDIBLE...that's what playing together for over a decade will do -At the very end of the show, massive confetti cannons shot out from in front of the stage. I managed to catch some, and even 30 minutes later outside Fenway Park, it was raining down on us! I'm still grinning ear-to-ear...just unbelievable. Hard to fathom he just turned 71 (when I told my mum that after the show, she couldn't believe it, she still thought he was in his mid-60s! :lol. I'll write up an even more detailed review later but it was just the best. THE BEST! I sang EVERY WORD to EVERY SONG and can barely talk today...my throat is so sore! And it was completely worth it, I'd do it again in a millisecond.

Dumb question, I know, but how do I post pics? I'm uploading some to flickr for everyone...

Here are my photos: they got worse as it got darker and the lights got brighter. Also we were much closer than these suggest even though I had my camera on full zoom. Still, enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/drblur/sets/72157634575563119/

No, it didn't rain. Thankfully it was overcast all day and it was a very comfortable 66 degrees by mid show (I checked on my phone) just a tad humid. This was a big relief as we have been in a brutally hot and humid period in New England, with heavy downpours of rain almost every day. Yesterday parts of Vermont got 5 inches of rain and flash flooding! So glad it stayed away! There were heavy storms in southern and western NE and Long Island, which was why Paul was late flying into Massachusetts.

Sorry to deluge the thread with my photos--I just wanted to share a few and then I'll stop, I promise!
You'd better not - they're FANTASTIC!! Keep 'em coming! So glad to hear it was a great show!
Great ZOOM Wallie! Put some over in the PMac pic thread. I just stole one & am putting it there.

Great to hear what a terrific show it was. Paul is amazing especially considering he is 71. Can't believe the man can just fly in 2 hours before the concert and put on such an incredible show. Almost everyone has mentioned how good his voice was last night. How did he sound singing "Maybe I'm Amazed". Judging by the U-tube clips I've seen from the earlier shows on this tour, MIA is the song that he seems to struggle the most. Granted it is not an easy song to sing. Some of the MIA videos I've seen weren't good at all and to the point I was wishing he would do another easier song (Beatles or Solo). He certainly has many, many other songs he could do (i.e. loved when he did Letting Go on the last tour). Maybe his voice is getting stronger as this tour continues. I hope that is the case and MIA sounds as good as his more recent tours. Thanks

Paul just keeps doing the impossible...topping himself repeatedly!!! Loved every single moment....And yes, On "Maybe I'm Amazed" he did a brilliant job with it!!! Better than usual...maybe the humid air was good for his 'pipes'... Great pics everyone has been posting... fun to see them the next day! I wish I took more...but I was too busy watching the show! Nice to read those wonderful reviews from the Boston newspapers, hope Paul see them too!

Thanks for posting the link! Great pics!
Thanks! It was a bit frustrating because my view was so clear but the bright lights washed out all of those pics later on in the show once it was full dark. And I second what Marthmydear said, he sounded fantastic on Maybe I'm Amazed, he even added some additional shrieks and hollers during it...he was feeling it!

Wow, what a show. This was my second time seeing Paul, four years after the last Boston show. Just amazing. One big highlight was during Back in the USSR, the screens flashed the message "FREE PUSSY RIOT"! Here is a picture I took: http://chuckdaly.wordpress.com/2013/07/09/paul/ It's pretty terrible compared to all of the great pics already posted, but it's Paul! Somebody asked about Maybe I'm Amazed. I noticed that it was a more up-tempo/faster version, which was unexpected. Did anybody else notice this?

I didn't think Maybe I'm Amazed seemed faster than usual, but Mrs. Vandebilt almost got away from Paul at the beginning, I felt...they were feeling their oats last night, that baby was speedy even BEFORE they went into double time at the end! Here's a collection of twitter pics and vids the Globe curated: http://www.boston.com/ae/music/21_memorable_mccartney/
