RIP Robin Williams

An incredible talent lost! Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin's family and friends at this very sad time.

This has made me incredibly sad. I have been a huge fan of his for many years, since his very first appearance on Happy Days, then on to Mork and Mindy, then bigger and better things. I know he had issues, but thought he was fine now, even with the cancellation of his latest TV show. RIP dear Robin.

what a freakin couincidence im watching jumanji right now what a sad loss he will be missed rip robin williams

I was lucky enough to see him perform live at a charity event circa 1991 in L.A. It was one of those things where they give awards to celebrities in order to sell expensive tickets (I got in on a press pass), and the awardees were him and Bette Midler. She sang a few songs and was lots of fun, then he came on and had the place absolutely roaring with laughter pretty much every second he was on. It was one of very few occasions where I've literally laughed so hard my stomach hurt. I only saw a few of his movies, but he was excellent in all of them. "Good Morning Vietnam" and "Dead Poets Society" were particularly outstanding. What an amazing talent, and what a loss.

I was doing a craft show along Central Park with a jeweler craftsman friend. Robin just walked up to look at her jewelry. He commented nicely on her jewelry and gave us both one of those cute Robin Williams elfish grins of his... Just a smile to light the world, really! I love his smile and was thinking about how much pleasure he has given me and all of the world with his wonderful sense of humor!! I am in such shock at this! A really bright light has gone out in the world, way too soon. One of those brilliant, lovable, stimulating people and comedic genius bar none. So very very sad to hear this news just want to reach out and give everyone a hug today...we just lost one of the great ones

It's really sad news --- ... there are many people like Robin who have various forms of depression ... ... I'm hopeful that people will become more aware of this "affliction" & become more helpful to those around (within our own circles) who feel hopeless and/or depressed ...
-
Years ago a close family member took their life * I did not want to bring it up here .... but then I heard Officer Boyd read what had happened to Robin Williams It was so close to what I had heard years ago .... so many similar things in their depression ..... Not knowing the full impact .... I thought they would snap out of it or get better ..... Thinking that when they went for help that that things would be able to be worked on ..... Sad to see a talent like this leave this world Many thoughts and prayers go out to his family - peace and comfort to them in these tough times now
-
I am shocked to hear this news...Robin was always one of my favorite actors. My favorite movie he played in was Mrs. Doubtfire, and I also loved it when he played the voice of the Genie in Walt Disney's Aladdin. May Robin's soul hopefully continue on in a better life in his next life. I believe in reincarnation and I hope and pray his next life will be happier.

A bunch of sickos in the media coverage ..... parking and staying around the neighborhood of a celebrity now gone .... Give the family some time to grieve, process all this, and comfort each other without all the cameras, high satellites off of the vehicles and reporters standing in front of the camera trying to capture the house, the neighborhood, the area ..... Some of the report on Robin Williams got too graphic ...... it came on during a News cycle ..... there was nothing to the listener to say it might be graphic or fair warning if you do not want to hear this .... I'm sorry to use the thread to show my disgust .... sorrows again to the family ..... hopefully more and more of this media to the area fade out ..... and peace thoughts

You are sympathizing with Robin's family, no reason to be sorry for that. There is nothing more comforting than sincere support during a time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers continue to remain with Robin's family during this difficult time.

The reporters and news media will continue to do what they want because they want their money only. They do not care about the celebrity who passed on or their family. We cannot stop them from doing that it will always happen to a celebrity who passes away. It's sad but true. Im sure Robin's family is doing what they can to stay away from the press and paparazzis.

I am very upset about Robin passing. I just cannot get over it. Here my tribute picture in Memory of Robin.. He will be very missed.

won't be able to watch mrs doubtfire the same again!!

More often than not, when there are reports that an American celebrity has passed, I have to think about who that person is. People like to think that the celebrities of which they are familiar are also famous in every other nation. That is usually untrue. Robin Williams was the rare American entertainer that truly is known around the world. When that "Fast and Furious" actor died, no one I know had any idea who he was. I still do not know his name, though he may have been beloved in his sphere of influence. When Robin Williams died, I talked with people about him who have never watched an American film or played a game of Jumanji.

It still hurts to think about it. Just an amazing talent and seems such a great man in person.

It is so painful, seeing all of the tributes that people are making for Robin. So talented and such an amazing person.

The thing that's really striking about the reaction to Robin Williams' death is the huge outpourinng of people with personal stories of his kindness, generosity and selflessness. This wasn't just people saying generically nice things about someone recently deceased, this was evidence of a genuinely kind and generous person who apparently had no idea how much he was loved. Heartbreaking.
