Sound Check
-
I didn't get hotel in my package, but I roomed with a board buddy that I'd never met and we had a great time talking about the show all night long.

I did venue VIP and Fan Asylum VIP packages several times, and only got dinner and random seats, never sound check.
I know that Fan Asylum packages used to come with hotel accommodations and really good seats, I thought I remembered soundchecks as well, but perhaps not. I had friends who bought packages from them but I never did.
I did a Fan Asylum package in 05 ( Houston or Dallas) and there was no sound check. I remember a get together, seats in the first 5 rows and a real nice gift item, a black shoulder strap computer type bag with a lot of compartments with the 05 logo in red. I still use it when I travel. The best package gift yet in my opinion.

That's really cool! Do you have a picture of it to share? I am interested to see how it looks

Fan Asylum did not do soundcheck packages in 2005 because Paul's sponsor was Lexus and somebody else and they controlled access to the soundcheck and their VIP's got in. But seat wise, Fan Asylum was the same first 6 rows...and hotel..plus a party with other fans on the first night where you met other fans on the package. I did like them. They did have soundchecks before that but not every show offered that.

I am always amazed by how much cheaper soundcheck packages are in Europe. I hope those reduced prices increase the number of fans paying for it.

I think it's good and bad...I think it's one of the reasons they opt out of touring there because they can command more money in other places..good for those of us willing to travel though as we get a break on the prices we are used to paying but of course we make that up on travel expenses

^ Same here...those are nicer than the backpacks. Hey did the soundcheck list for KC get listed anywhere?
-
My problem will be that I don't want to ruin it so I won't use it.

My problem with the backpack. I did the Gold ticket last year, so will look and see what the swag was. If it was a backpack, I will use one. Yes, if anybody has an extra US tour swag bag, I'd love it.
-
I actually bought one of those 2005 US tour computer bags on ebay a couple years ago. I love it!

Are you sure it was Monkberry Moon Delight? I'm a bit doubtful about that, maybe it was something else that sounded like Monkberry thru the wall...?

I find it very hard to believe as well. Its not impossible just not likely. I will say with almost 100% certainty it was a recordingm. I have hever heard of soundcheck running over into the time concert was actually supposed to start. Paul wouldnwouldnot have been on stage when they open the doors for regular concert goers.

They may have been playing it through some speakers while the soundcheckers were eating. We had Paul music piped in during Chicago's dinner.
