Sound Check

I'm sure we would all like to hear a few different songs in sound check. But, I'm thinking that Paul always does Lady Madonna because it is a pretty good warm-up for him on the piano. Also, I'm sure that specific songs are played to test out each guitar he will be using in the show. After all, it is a rehearsal, sort of, right??
Actually I don't think he always does Lady Madonna . . .seems like there was another setlist from last week that he did something else on that piano. However, you are correct. . .soundcheckers are told that he will do songs that will use each instrument he'll use in the show . . . Which brings me to something else I thought about . . .it would be really cool if one of the swag items was a t-shirt that had something about being at soundcheck (Paul does call the group "soundcheckers"!!) Personally a shirt would have been more useful to me than a backpack (even tho the backpack is a very good one and I'll keep mine thanks!). Also, the pick thing . . .we all paid the same cost(s) to be in there . . .why only picks at the first and last shows? I still had a fab time at soundcheck . . .don't regret spending the $$ even a tiny bit
I LOVE the idea of a soundcheckers t shirt ! & yes I still want a guitar pick !

OK so when/if this happens . . .please tell Paul's people it was MY suggestion . . .that's Seuss w/ a capital S! I'd be happy to give them my real name/address so I can get mine! Seriously . . .I'm pretty sure a t-shirt was part of the swag for soundcheck at the Italy show a while back so it has happened!

And some people have Memory Almost Full Tshirts from a listening party...I think that was it.

It would be nice to have a soundcheck t-shirt unavailable anywhere else, but at least they are giving us one that mentions (on the back) the city and date of the concert we were at.

"Giving" meaning if you are willing to buy it at the merch stand for $40 USD in addition to paying for the VIP ticket. I didn't buy it . . . a black men's t-shirt isn't worth $40 to me. This is the first time I've not purchased a shirt at a Paul concert . . .I just didn't see anything I "loved" for $40-$65 I purchased a couple of trinkets instead

Really? I got a "free" t-shirt (plus other stuff) at every soundcheck I attended. And when it was too big, I went to the merch table and they exchanged it for a smaller one at no cost.

Nope, no t-shirts included for us last week. We got the backpack, tour book and a water bottle, plus the laminate we wore. Some soundchecks got guitar picks but the one I attended did not. We got to shop at a merch stand before the doors opened but we still had to pay the same prices as everyone else. We were treated to plenty of veggie food (appetizers and a full buffet and some complimentary beverages including wine and maybe beer). I'm not complaining (really!). . .I paid the price to see Paul in soundcheck and get a great seat and I DID (including a shirt would have been really cool tho!)

I don't believe I have ever gotten a t-shirt as part of Paul soundcheck merch.

You get water bottles and backpacks in the US, here we get cheaper tote bags and good t-shirts. I suppose the free merchandise is different in each country, so all in all it's still good stuff. I can't complain, as the food and drinks are good and the soundcheck is a unique experience.

Very unique but I wish we were a bit closer for it.

Closer would be great, sure. I would give up my t-shirt for that.

Yes, he wouldn't need to acknowledge us...although that would be cool...but 40 rows back is a bit far.

I can't really blame him for asking us to keep a distance. He's working, after all. I guess he would be distracted by our yelling while trying to check the sound of each instrument. Besides, perhaps he would not feel comfortable at ignoring so many people just a few meters away (who paid a lot of money to be there).
