Hi, I'm new to the board but had a question about the time of the concert. Ticketmaster lists the time of the show being 4 PM on July 15th...is that a typo of some sort? Seems really early for a concert to start on a Friday

Time sounds right. They'll have an opening act like at CitiField.

Now I'll never sleep tonight. Gotta book a hotel, check out the seating chart, see what friends want to go....This has MADE my day!!! New tour, possibly new songs. Can't wait!

Glad he is finally playing the only ballpark that matters in the USA.
nah, he did that in 2009 at Fenway!
Nah to both of you, he played at Angel Stadium in '93

Great seating chart on the Yankees website with a price chart as well. On field seating is $179.50 and $279.50 according to this. Don't know why TM doesn't list those prices yet. http//newyork.yankees.mlb.com/nyy/ticketing/McCartney.jsp

He played Dodger Stadium in '66 already.

Oh yeah...Paul in New York...let the party begin!!
That it will. I'm there! It's only a day after my birthday (thanks for the present, Paul), and I live only a couple of miles away. Gotta find out about that presale! I hope I do before it starts (unlike Vegas...)

Get over it Yankee fans. It's not even the same park from even 4 years ago.

we can also expect the usual options by way of VIP packages. Don't expect to find front row seats at $279.50 The TM listing suggests that VIP deals may open up today 9th June 2011 Again, if so, they may be sourced through www.paulmccartney.com/tickets Look now at the page to see the listing already showing for VIP experiences in Vegas - albeit sold out. There may also be routes to VIP through the other pre-sale options, Yankees season ticket holders, Amex etc but we cannot be certain as those sales are managed by others for those eligible and you should source their service pages for details. WOW!!! Great news about the concert! Hopefully I'll be able to get tickets. Any word on whether or not he'll be playing more than one night? I'm figuring he'll probably be there Friday & Saturday, but wondered if anyone can confirm this.

No, no one can confirm this. In the past a second night has just appeared during the sale period, presumeably when a particular demand trigger point is met. On other occasions, extra nights have been announced several days later. So sadly there is no absolute pattern of how, when, or if a second (or third ) night will be offered. Until further show options appear, or are announced, the only wise thing to do is seek tickets for the confirmed night, in this case the 15th July. Martin

This is all so exciting!! As an impoverished student, I have been dropping hints to my parents (who live in NYC) that seeing Paul at Yankee Stadium would be an excellent family activity. However, I live in Chicago, so I'm faced with a dilemma: Do I use some of my hard-earned money to buy a New York ticket (assuming the parents don't come through), only to sell it if he announces a Chicago show? Or do I wait to see if a Chicago show materializes, and risk not getting a New York ticket? What would you all do? And does anyone know if the rumors about the Chicago show are strong enough at this point to be considered almost fact?

Nobody knows, the only certainties are officially announced and confirmed concerts. You are not alone with this dilemma, there are many fans considering the exact same problem and there are no absolute answers. One thing worth throwing into the mix though is that time and again, extra seats have become available closer to show dates, long after the first sale of tickets have been announced as sold out. So there remains a reasonble opportunity to let this first sale for NYC pass to wait further dates and venue announcements and still secure a first hand ticket closer to the show date if nothing is announced. (Not guaranteed, of course.) Ideally parents will fund Yankee tickets and travel and then it's problem solved - after all they'd have the bonus of a visit from you - and who could turn that chance up? Martin

I was actually supposed to be out of town that weekend, but my trip got cancelled a couple of weeks ago. I was very disappointed when it got cancelled, but now I'm happy. I'd rather have a chance to see Paul! (Of course, if I can't get tickets to see Paul, I'll have TWO things to be disappointed about, but I'll try not to think about that)

Watch the DVD Good Evening New York City... Same city, same audience, same seating arrangements. Just watch how thoroughly miserable the fans are throughout. Paul best live concert DVD release ever - fantastic show, fantastic atmosphere. If this show can just scratch the surface of those nights.... pure gold. Martin

thanks for the map DrivinFan!!!! .......and thanks for the heads up on the ticket prices and dates (((( anita)))). ....i can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!

Ok, so any idea at what time Paul would come on based on past shows? Sorry to be a pain, never seen him before and just trying to determine if I can make the show on a Friday.

My guess - 4PM is probably when the gates open. Opening band 6:30ish. Macca around 8.
