Golden Slumbers!!!!! Every time I get annoyed with this man he has to go and do something amazing like that!
I NEED to see him sing that!! I would actually be in floods of tears! -
You are in for a treat, The End is all the more powerful as the closer when done in the full context of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight. If I had to pick one song (counting all three of these as a song) to use to convince someone that Macca is the best composer, this would be the one as it goes from soft, powerful ballad to the explosive rock ending.

Morning all! Well I've got to say, they setlist was pretty disappointing, but the Abbey Road medley did go some way to redeeming that. I for one LOVED Sgt Pepper as a closer, and I do feel kind of sad now it's gone cos it worked well...but the Abbey Road medley did work pretty fantastically too
The set list was more than pretty disappointing. I think someone said earlier if the tour had kept the same name then no probs, but this is the same old thing. At least mix up the order, something. Obviously delighted with the medley and Night Before and Juniors Farm and I will. But come on Paul! I am sure it was a great show though, it always is.
A stomach churning disappointment. I quite agree C it's not really a new tour at all. He should have called it the Run Of The Mill tour, same old same old.

We have been had by a marketing ploy by the promoters who probably said hey we know there are many repeat concert goers and we need to change the name so it keeps them interested. I mean why did they bother to change the name of the tour? I would have liked to see more changes. I will still enjoy the three shows I am going to see but I will likely be seeing the last three concerts of his ever. Granted I have seen him 10 times but this is still upsetting. I think some of it is just a product of touring the way he does now with a short break in between in other words I think they the band and him are being lazy to point. I love the man and always will but give me a break, I understand that he has to do certain songs but not some that he has worn out over the past couple tours. since the first time I saw him in 02' I think there is 4 songs on this set list I have not ever seen.
I'm sure it was a great show...but they could have done sooo much more.

You know, I think this review nails it perfectly. Pareles, like many of us, obviously has a deep, deep knowledge of Paul and his catalog, but also understands what an entertainer has to do in settings like this. Quibbling about the set list here does miss all the most salient and pertinent points that Pareles makes. I'm active on other boards for artists with fanatic, loyal followings, ranging from Prince to Todd Rundgren. The people who see every show raise the same arguments that are being waged here. The people who see them for the first time, or sporadically, rave about how incredible the set lists are. It's all perspective, and those of use who see artists a gazillion times tend to, by definition, lack it.

The show was awesome!! The best part for me was when Paul acknowledged my "Hey Paul I'm Jude" sign when he was talking about the signs!!! He looked right at me and said Hey Jude!!! I can't even describe to you guys how amazing that feeling was!! It felt like it lasted forever!!!!
is your name actually jude? that's awesome! how old are you?
My mom named me Julian after Hey Jude. She used to sing to me Hey Jude when I was a baby! I am 20 years old. I just turned 20 last month.
Congrats!!!!

I Will
Thank you for posting this!!! Although I couldn't get to any shows this time, I am very grateful for the video!!! "I Will" is one of my favorite songs and it sounds so beautiful!!!!! Let me add that Paul looks cuter than ever!!!!

hey there, i was at the show last night and macca did not disappoint especially with hearing golden slumber/carry that weight/the end..possibly my favorite beatles songs ever, just the perfect ending to an amazing album. i digress. anyway, paul sounded great. saw him at citi field for night 3 back in 09 and even though it was a similar setlist, it was a great time. its tough to complain when youre seeing a living legend. i posted all my videos up on youtube including the night before and golden slumbers. im not gonna link them all here, just those two but you can find the rest of them on my youtube page. hopes everyone enjoys them and macca! The Night Before
Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End -
^^^ NICE! Thanks so much. Sounds great!

"Don't know what time the check actually started, but could hear it from about 4:00 till about 5:30 or so." can you actually hear the sound check from outside the stadium?
-
Anyone have any photos to post?
-
What does the On The Run tour merch look like? Anyone have pictures?
-
Is there a new tour programme? New t-shirts, etc.? They are not available at the official online store.
-
@dubstar: yes, you can hear the sound check outside the stadium. That is, when the El (elevated subway) trains aren't passing! The line runs right next to the stadium! We could hear it well enough to identify the songs being played.
-
thanks...I wonder if the sound would be clearer if you listened from up on the train platform? that is, when the trains aren't running!
-
@5th-beatle: yes, new merchandise. Usual prices: $40 and up for shirts, etc. There was a stall set up outside the stadium, so you were able to purchase things before the gates opened, as well as stalls inside the stadium.

Thanks. Is the new tour programme very different from the previous one?
