Paul's parents, Mary & Jim

I never noticed that plaque above the door either time I visited there! Very nice!

Paul with father Jim and brother Mike (third from left) and Aunts (Ginny second from left)(Milly on other side of Paul?) at after party following premiere of "A Hard Day's Night," London, July 7, 1964 (Was also father Jim McCartney's birthday.)

^ His Dad was 62 that day but sure looked older.

I think Paul looks young for his age because he's been able to keep his hair (he and brother Mike didn't inherit their father's bald gene ) and he does try to live a very healthy and active lifestyle. It's definitely made a difference in keeping him looking and feeling younger.

You inherit the bald gene from your mother’s side, so her brothers must have kept their hair.

Yup, that's the way it usually works... if your mother's father was a cueball, it's most likely you will be one too... eventually..... if you're a man of course, lol. Paul's father was still very handsome at 62 though, Paul resembles him quite a bit I think.

Then again, he might simply be using a decent brand of superglue to keep his 'syrup' on?

Oh I don't think he needs Superglue or Syrup I feel that's his own hair. If he had extensions, wouldn't he be afraid to go outdoors on a windy day? He seems perfectly relaxed and comfortable. Only thing that's different is the wisps of silver and a lighter color.
Photo taken at LIPA in Liverpool today, July 27 (perhaps graduation is tonight, and he usually hands out diplomas)

Paul with his father Jim and stepmother Angela and horse he bought for his father "Drake's Drum"

Paul's father Jim McCartney and horse Drake's Drum

^ Somehow Jim doesn’t look too thrilled!
And neither does the horse!

Not sure how long he kept the horse, but I think Paul bought it for him because he knew how much he loved horse-racing.
Info from http://www.meetthebeatlesforreal.com/2015/05/drakes-drum.html gives more info about the photo below:
"March 26, 1966 -- Paul with his father and step-mother at the Aintree Racecource after Drake's Drum won the race!"
In the photo, I can identify Angela (Paul's stepmother) leading the horse at center, and Paul on other side, and Mike, Paul's brother walking to the right of the jockey. Paul's Dad Jim may be the man partially visible behind Mike.

You're welcome, The_Fool!
It's nice to see photos that many may not have seen before.
I really enjoy reading about Paul's parents, I think they were good people who raised him well! I often wonder what his mother Mary would have thought of Paul's success in The Beatles, had she lived.

I zoomed in on that photo and the man has a cigarette in his mouth. Jim only smoked pipes I believe. Funny he wasn’t up closer.
ETA: Just looked at previous photo and Jim has probably a cigarillo or cigar in his mouth that matches the other pic, so that is him behind Mike. And, he is holding a cigar in the close up pic of him with the horse.
Paul’s mum would have been so “chuffed” (as they say) about Paul’s success. So sad she didn’t live to see it.

Yeah, I think that's Jim too, behind Mike. Didn't see anyone else in the photo who remotely resembled him. I didn't realize that was a cigar, or cigarillo.
Oh I think Paul's mum would have been very happy to see his success, and would have been so proud of him. She might have had some motherly concern about his pot smoking and rumors of LSD and numerous girlfriends during his carefree bachelor days, but that's what all mothers would probably do, lol. I think she'd have loved Linda very much, especially when she'd see she was the real deal and how much Paul loved her. It is sad that his mum didn't live to see her grandchildren, but I'm sure she's always watching over her family, and with them in spirit.

Paul at a friend's birthday party, circa 1953.
Can picture his mother wanting to teach him to dress properly, and to put on a tie.
He sure was a cute little boy, wasn't he? He still is of course!
-
1952
I would put that other pic more like circa 1951 (age 9) Just mho.

I guess we should be posting these in the Paul pic thread. Sorry Mods, “don’t cane us!”

As long as we mention his parents in a post, it's staying on topic and can be posted here
Nancy, in the photo you posted on the PM Picture Thread, notice that Paul is the only boy wearing a tie, with the exception of the teacher... not sure if he's wearing a school or Boy Scout uniform, and the tie is part of that, or if his Dad and Mum just liked him to dress properly when there was a party. They seemed very down to earth though, and natural and weren't"stuffy" in the least They were good parents, and seemed to give him an extra dash of dapper that always stayed with him, lol. His father was always handsome and dapper in any photos I've seen of him too.
