I know I mentioned before on here that at this show I am going to try and have Paul sign my tattoo. I've gone to the craft store to buy poster board and markers, but I'm worrying about visability. Originally I wantd to make two signs. My dad would hold one saying "You say it's her Birthday...Sign the Birthday Girl" while mine would say "I'm the birthday girl! Sign my tattoo!" but I'm worried that its too much to fit and be readable. I'm in row 9 section F1, but I'm not really familiar with Barclays. Do you think I'm close enough to the stage for Paul to be able to read all the words on the the sign? Or should I go for bigger, more visable writing (like just saying Please Sign my Beatles Tattoo and Please sign my daughter) rather than my initial idea? Obviously getting this to happen at all is a longshot (although he has done it before, most recently in Brazil) but I want to make sure I have the best shot!
I like the "Please Sign My Daughter!" sign idea the best, actually. Best of luck to you!

Paul is pretty good at spotting them. How big are your signs and how often do you plan to hold them up? Be mindful that you don't annoy the people behind you, who won't be able to see anything whenever you hold the signs up.

I was on the floor, but around row 20-25 in St. Louis and had a sign I held up between songs the whole show. I was lucky, though, and had an aisle seat next to the off-the-floor seats, so I would step out of the row and hold up the sign between shows, careful to not block anyone behind me. It said, "Drove 24 hours to hug a sweaty Paul," because I had, and I wanted to. Paul saw the sign a few times and finally read it out loud. That was pretty cool.

Yea...I wouldn't worry about visibility. During soundcheck, where fans are further back, Paul doesn't have a problem reading them.

There are some pretty decent $350 seats still popping up. As usual with TM, it's not always best to buy early. They seem to dump the less desirable seats first, then the better ones. The "Not many left!" notice has been there for a while, yet every day I pull up seats together. To the best of my knowledge, Barclay's doesn't participate in TM's exchange policy so if you buy early and select "Best available" and then better seats pop up, it would seem you're stuck with your original purchase. Still, I'm very much looking forward to seeing Paul in my hometown on a Saturday night.

They're 22x28 inches and I've already taken into account about the people behind me. I've decided We'll hold them up in the begining, at the piont in the show where he always comments on posters, and the first two times he is standing close to the side of my stage where the seats are. I also plan to only hold them up between songs, so the people behind me never miss the actual performance.

Yup. I know this, I usually have better restraint, but I panicked and bought seats the first day, fearing it'd sell out quickly. So, instead of having a seat on the floor in the first 20 or so rows, I have a seat well off the floor that cost just as much as the good seats popping up now. I'm getting a large bruise from kicking myself so much over this!

I like that too. I thought mentioning my birthday might give more of an incentive for him to actually bring me up though. Then again, none of the other people he has signed were celebrating anything, so I should be fine.

That's good to know. I have the worst eyesight in the world, so I always kind of operate under the assumption that people will have just as hard of a time seeing things as I do.

I don't think I have asile seats. They are F1 seats 11 and 12 but I'm definately going to stick to holding them up only between songs (and NOT between every song) because at least that way the people behind me won't miss too much when I do it. I figure, worse comes to worse, if they are really mean about the few times I hold them up (probably no more than 5-8 times throughout the whole two hour show) I'll offer to buy them a drink or a t shirt or something for being cooperative.

I've got 4 seats in Sec. 23 Row 9 on the 10th and I just pulled up 4 seats in F4 row 10.

Most folks in section F1 paid $700+ to see Paul. They will not be happy to have their view blocked by your sign "just 5-8 times". How would you feel? Just sayin...

I paid just as much though, so I do have a right to hold the sign. And it is only going to be between songs. However, I do realize that, just as I have the right to hold the sign, they have the right to ask me to stop. I'm certainly not going to be rude about it. I'm going to speak to the people behind me first, tell them what I'm doing, and explain that I will only hold it up a few times. I'll also tell them that, if I'm blocking anything they really need to see between songs, they can let me know, and I'll put it down for them. At every Paul concert I've been to, I've had VIP seats and seen people holding signs, and I've never seen anyone get asked to take it down or get in trouble. I think as long as you respect what other people say, things will be fine. Besides, Last time I paid $600 and the person in front of me (who was a professional journalist and should have used a bit more tact) was standing on his chair taking photos in front of me the whole time.I was fine with it for most of the show, because he only did it during certain songs. It was only twords the very end, when he decided to stand on the chair for EVERY song, and ignored demands from security that he get off the chiar (for safety reasons) that I started to get annoyed. Even still though, the guy appoligized and sent us some really great pics he took of Paul, so its all a matter of just being nice to people. I know some people aren't going to be happy, but meeting Paul is one of my biggest dreams, and I'm not going to give it up just because a few people might be miffed. I'm just going to walk the line between doing this and respecting other people who also paid to see the show.

Good luck! Remember it's not just the people in the row directly behind you that won't be able to see, but all the people seated behind that row, too, esp. if it is a big sign.

Thanks! Paul seems to be on a spree of bringing people onstage this tour (the girl in Brazil and then another couple) so I'm hoping the luck extends to NY. I will be considerate of the people behind me, but obvisouly I can't speak to everyone sitting in all the rows!! I'm just going to rely on the folks behind me to warn me when I'm getting too much in the way. My signs aren't too big (22X28, which is standard poster size) so I'm hoping tha even when I do hold them up, people can see around, or if I hold it high enough, they can see under it.
