Bought the art print of Egypt Station at his paintings exhibition years ago as it was my favourite - good to see the title reused

wow! love the beetle in the upper middle
-
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great tunes... first listen and loved them both!
his voice is great and the bass played superbly!
Come on to You - great buncy rocker... big bass lines, guys great on the background.. sounds great, Wings style horn section break, fun song, fake ending very beatlely...
I Don't Know - Sounds like a smoother melodic "Demons Dance" again great bassline and a female voice on backing track (who is that?) Ringo on Drums? Abe on Drums?

I posted the videos of the songs in the other thread.

Whoa!! Positively love Come On To Me. Very Wings-like, which is always a good thing!! Goes in different directions, with a wonderful horn section!!
Not as in love with I Don't Know, but it still is a cool tune, and Paul's voice is heavenly.
Very excited about the upcoming Egypt Station.
See you all in Austin!!!

Pre bought the album on itunes....
got my first two songs
I'm feeling that we get a few more here and there before the ENTIRE release on Sept 7...

Listened to both a few times now. I like ‘come on to me’ better. It sounds like Macca could really do a dirty-raw-live version of this. Not sure what it’s about lol.
The other song ‘I Don’t Know’ isn’t as slow as other people are saying. It’s good. It sounds like it’s from the pipe of peace library.
If your reading this then your already a Macca fan, so I can promise you will be happy.
You’d be happy Stan!

Hello everyone... been a long time since I've posted in the forum. Of course, I'm excited like everyone is about Paul's upcoming album, but must admit I wasn't overly impressed with these latest singles, Come On to You and I Don't Know. I guess the trouble is McCartney has such a strong legacy to live up to, even in these past few years. New, My Funny Valentine and Appreciate were all stronger singles than these, in my view.

I just heard, I Don't Know, one of the (double A side) singles on the radio . I liked it.

"I don't Know" Made me cry! I'm a giant baby and I love him
I liked Come on to Me too. Reminded me of Dance Tonight. Excited for the full album. -
Okay, I've had just one listen to each new tune, so this is REALLY preliminary, but... "I Don't Know" initially strikes me as the sort of generic Paul ballad that we usually get when he writes a song for a movie or video game, etc. And the melody is oddly flat for Paul. It's not terrible by any means, but I can't imagine it as a successful single. I kind of feel similarly about "Come On to Me" -- kind of a generic Paul rocker, not at all bad but also not at all instantly memorable. The raucous vibe is nice, but nothing about it feels special. I do sense a marketing strategy here -- one track for adult contemporary radio and another for however many rock stations are still hanging on. Of course, 2 tracks don't make an album, but was hoping to love these the way I loved the title song to "New" when it was first released. And it does strike me as odd that these are coming out nearly 3 months before the album drops. I can't imagine anyone but hardcore fans still remembering these tunes in September.

Not sure, huh?
If this was mid-1967 or mid-1968, I’d say he wrote the song for Linda! Fits their scenarios at the time completely!

I don't know is a great track , and I think it will continue to grow on me - not sure if it's a single.. . Come On To me is very catchy - I woke up singing it , so there you go ! I am a bit worried that my affection for it may wane quite quickly . Whats there is great , but the chorus and verse are essentially the same plus, there's no middle 8 .. I think it's definatley a single because it's instantly catchy . Not sure if any of that is particlularly relevant for an artist like Paul however..

Surprised how quiet this thread is tbh ! Am I missing something ?

Really like the way he describes the album as a journey from station to station and looking forward to listening to it from start to finish in that context.
