Will he make some kind of Prince tribute?
-
instead of "Foxy Lady" in Minnesota after "Let Me Roll It", Paul should play a piece of a Prince song. The crowd/press would go wild over this I think
-
That would be very 'Paul'..and very cool. Some purple rain riff since Let Me Roll It has a fairly slow beat to it
-
Yes, then he could do away with his Jimi story too!

Rich n, That is a great guess and I think it is entirely possible. I see it as the most realistic. As far as Paul doing one of Prince's big hits, I'm not sure they're are any that is "right down his alley" (like Paul doing a Buddy Holly song). On the pop side, he could do a cover of Prince's "Manic Monday" but again I'm not sure it is very realistic. I think you're right... a Purple Rain riff at the conclusion of "Let Me Roll It'. Personally I'm like really tired of Let Me Roll it but changing the ending to Purple Rain would be an exciting tribute.

Hey, the last Elvis Costello show I saw 4 years ago, concluded with a cover of Purple Rain. If one Liverpudlian can do it, surely another can.

Springsteen and the E Street Band just opened their concert tonight with Purple Rain. It was expected that he would do a song for Prince tonight. I really don't expect Paul to do one...however, I also did not expect him to bring Diana Krall up to play piano in Vancouver. So I guess we shall see.

I don't expect Paul to sing any Prince tune, but like others said, maybe a quick instrumental passage, or at the very least, some short speech. I would only expect this in Minneapolis.

"If You Wanna" is supposed to be Prince-inspired. Has he ever played that in concert?
