kelly campbell:
looking forward to coming up for the show, I would like to get some idea's for a good place to eat. I prefer locally owned and private restaurants over chains. I plan on being in the area for two days.
The Third Ward is probably the best place to explore for places like that. Ryan Braun has a restaurant there which sounds pretty good (Graffito) but I've not been there. Brady Street north of downtown has some good ethnic choices and is historically the alternative and student area. As far as more near the stadium, I like the vegetarian Cafe Manna in Brookfield. Noodles and Company on Bluemound Rd is reliable but is a chain. While looking into shuttle options, I was checking out Burke's Irish Castle just north of the park. It sounds pretty good for dining, too. Bernie might have some more ideas.

Do you know where you are staying yet? Yes, the Historic Third Ward and Water Street area are the main areas for dining and pubs in the downtown area.

I am not sure yet, but I am flexible any idea's?? I like to get close to the venue but not that big of a deal, I will go where the best set up is as far as the Hotel and Restaurants etc...I want to eat at good places not fast food.

You probably want to stay in the downtown area then. The Iron Horse Hotel might be a good choice. It is in the trendy warehouse district. The Ambassador Hotel is in the Marquette neighorhood and has a shuttle. I'm intrigued by a hotel that is opening this month in the old Pabst brewery, the Brewhouse Inn. It will have a restaurant on site but there is not much else dining-wise within walking distance. http://tinyurl.com/bwcwogg I checked and there are a few rooms available that week.

Received my tickets yesterday via Fed Ex. Amazing - the day after I ordered! Looking forward to a nice road trip in July!
-
damn that is really fast especially if you went through this site.

Well, I tried to get them through the fan pre-sale, but nothing would come up for two tickets. So, I quickly went to Tickets.com and went through the VIP process. But, I was still stunned when I found the Fed Ex yesterday afternoon!

We probably won't get the Crowdsurge tix until beginning of July.

Here's a link to all the info on the Third Ward. http://www.historicthirdward.org/index.php The Ambassador Hotel is the closest downtown hotel to Miller Park...about 2 miles. The hotel is beautifully renovated on the edge of Marquette campus but it does have a "history" that may disturb some people. Google it if you don't know what I mean. And even though it's only about a 30 minute walk from the stadium I can't recommend that for safety reasons. I personally would stay closer to the Third Ward. If you want to splurge check out the Pfister Hotel. OK, you're probably getting sensory overload from all the info so if you have any questions just keep posting! PS...On previous visits to Milwaukee it has not been unusual to see Paul out bike riding along the lakefront downtown!
-
that would be cool especially if you snap a picture of him on a bike.
-
Bernie Brewer is ready!
-
Miller Park is close to being sold out! Only side terrace seats left. Handicapped seating in lower sections was sold earlier.
-
"Silly Love Songs" played during the game tonight.
-
Hopefully a good omen

If any one is interested I can organize a pre-tailgate gathering at Kelly's Bleachers from 3PM 'til??? At 5PM when the stadium lots open those who wish to tailgate can convoy over. Those who want can stay at Kelly's until...??? There should be parking around Kelly's off Bluemound Rd if you get there early enough. There is a 2 hour time restriction parking on most streets until 6PM. It is only a short and easy 15 minute walk from there to the stadium.
-
This may be a stupid question, Will most of the people tailgating for this show also be grilling like they do for the ball games there? I am still trying to decide if I want to tailgate or take the shuttle in.

That sounds awesome. Hopefully someone sober can repark all our cars in the stadium lot. I plan on organizing a Paul fan preshow at Six Flags the day before Miller Park. We have a day inbetween Indianapolis and Milwaukee to kill!

That sounds interesting, what all would that entail? any idea's?
