Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours

Oh, and another reason is that Macca has here a lot of young fans. I was one of the older people that were in his hotel and I'm 21.
That's true. Every McCartney concert I've been to was packed with teenagers and people under 30 years old.
Maybe part of the reason there are so many young people is that you have General Admission there and the older fans (like me!) would not be able to handle that chaos. Edited to add: Well, I see since I wrote this that you've been discussing "old farts" in a derogatory manner! You young whippersnappers need to respect your elders! Just because we're "old" (I'm 57) doesn't mean we want Paul to just be a Beatles tribute act! We want to hear more of his Wings and solo catalogue too!
You're a cool lady, Nancy! You're one of my favorites around here. Now can I have daughter's phone number? Regarding setlist, you have to keep in mind that at least 75% of the audience attends a McCartney concert to hear Beatles songs. If it was up to me Paul would perform the complete "Off The Ground" works in concert, but the setlist is pretty understandable the way it is. Another thing I dislike is how scripted it all is. A little more spontaneity wouldn't hurt.

At least we can agree on the crowd interaction.

When 2/3 of the set consists of 8 years of an almost 50 year long carrer something's wrong imo.
THIS! Great post!
I've always said that he could do maybe 6 songs from each decade. Someone care to whip up a setlist like that?
How's this... *Please note, I counted "Flowers in The Dirt" for the 90's since it fits more with that era of style for Paul. Also, I count Vintage Clothes---Feet in The Clouds as one song. 1. I Saw Her Standing There 2. Jet 3. The World Tonight 4. Take it Away 5. Coming Up 6. Lonely Road 7. Ever Present Past 8. Wanderlust 9. The Long and Winding Road 10.Yesterday 11.Tug of War 12.Heaven on a Sunday 13.I Do 14.This One 15. Hope of Deliverance 16.Pipes of Peace 17.Fine Line 18.Vintage Clothes 19.That Was Me 20.Feet in The Clouds 21.This Never Happened Before 22.My Brave Face 23.Listen To What The Man Said 24.Uncle Albert Admiral Halsey/ 25.Live and Let Die 26.Let it Be 27.Hey Jude ENCORE 28.No More Lonely Nights 29.Silly Love Songs 30.Get Back 31.Goodnight Tonight ENCORE 32.Beautiful Night 33.Band on The Run Personally, I would love this show. BUT, even I would like more Beatles tracks. But it is possible, to have another six beatles songs in there, and thes et would be a normal length for Paul's show. Because let's face it, just because he has 50 years of music to cover...some years were better than others!! Does anyone really believe that what he did on "Revolver" in '66 is equivalent to what he did on "Press To Play" in'86? Don't get me wrong, he needs to balance the set more but, I think Beatles songs should be more at just under 50% of the set, and not 66%...or 20% like above.

I would love to sit down & compose a 30 song set list of tracks i'd love to hear live, however it would be pointless as Mccartney could proberly not be able to do most of them much justice these days, so in that case i'd rather not hear them. Who needs to hear/watch an artist murder his own songs & damage a very tarnished reputation further ?? Not I, although i know some people would no matter how he sounded.

...in some far flung corner of the world who lap it up & pay top dollar.
Would have just been quicker to say 'South America'

Wix, that's an interesting list. Vintage Clothes would be a nice addition to an the solo guitar set.

I have no interest in seeing him live now, if others want to good for them, mind you if I did go I wouldn't be doing anyone out of a ticket over here in the UK, a mate of mine went down to london & saw him in 1993 & there were rows of empty seats even then !!! And in those days he had his voice & great band & a very varied set list which still pushed his latest album !

At least we don't b***h all the time about his voice and setlist as the Europeans and North Americans do!

hey Javilu, don't condemn all of North America. It's not all of us.

Maybe, and I'm glad it was. However, this topic is Paul's tour rumors. Many have already expressed they hope there isn't another tour. We got it, your opinion is loud and clear, your opinions are well known. So lets get back to the topic. Start a thread staying Paul should not tour anymore if you want to. But welcome all opinions.

of course the only one repeating himself is 'denny c'.....loud and clear....however i fail to see how any opinion about paul touring is not related to anything anyone has said about his poor vocals.....and of course your opinions of my opinions are well known,so why do you have to keep repeating yourself??...pretty strange behaviour especially if it bothers you so much.....like i said earlier,'just dive in the swimming pool' its much easier than going in bit by bit....and actually once you are in you will be glad you did.......

Thanks Javi! My daughter just got her a house on Friday (she closed on it) but unfortunately she hasn't dumped her boyfriend yet (who the rest of the family don't like!) Keep your fingers crossed that she will soon come too her senses!

I have missed the last batch of interviews, has he said anything about touring? whether or not he's done for the year. Like the Laura Laverne interview? There is a new arena in Brooklyn. Would be nice to see Paul there.

If he was to tour we would hear about it on the new site first - then again ....maybe not if the past is anything to go by.
-
I don't think it's necessary to announce it here first. Everybody should hear it.
-
Moderator Post The purpose of this thread is to discuss rumors of Paul touring and the possibility of those rumors coming to fruition. Please return to topic. Thank you.

I don't think a lot of us North Americans really do, and I wouldn't lump all of Europe in their either. I think its mainly the home land, but at least you can say the South Americans know respect and how to treat and talk about a legend that is for sure. Wish I could have gone to some of those shows. They looked as if they were amazing.
You're always welcome here. You'll have a swell time!

I know, sorry. 99% doesn't make all of North America
