I do try to see one concert a summer and last summer I toyed with the front row experience. Just might get that out of my system this summer.
That would be amazing! What is that costing these days?
Am I wrong that it's been around $2,000 (USD)? It includes attending the soundcheck for about an hour-long concert, most of which are songs that won't be played during the regular concert.

...and I thought $375 was a lot for a soundcheck and meet n greet with the beach boys!!!

Yeah, that's another good deal, kind of like your Ringo VIP package, when compared to Paul's soundcheck packages.

Actually, The Beach Boys is a REALLY great deal, I shouldn't complain about that. Really, it makes Ringo's look over-priced if you ask me!

I can't afford that! I could spring for $300 tickets for me and my wife, though.

I think The Beach Boys really raised the bar for soundcheck packages, at only a fraction of the price of Paul's package, it not only includes a meet and greet, but a personal photo with the band! How cool is that?! Ringo's package at $175 is prettymuch just a seat in the first fifteen rows and a t-shirt. Paul's soundchecks, like his shows, are becoming the same old songs (if you have been to multiple ones). I love the atmosphere and the fooling around at the soundchecks though. Plus you meet some great fans there. Podgie (VIP) Monkey

Oh yes! I'm VERY pleased with The Beach Boys approach! Has Paul EVER done a meet n greet? Like in any sort of package setting or anything of that sort?

The only real Meet and Greet's Paul has ever done has been signings. Those have been free, but you had to camp out for them. He has never done a Meet and Greet as part of a regular VIP package. He has had meet and greets with the Adopt-a-minefield event, I think the highest paying tables. That was years ago. Podgie (would be cool with a VIP package now) Monkey

Oh dear...and I'm sure that had a lot more digits behind it than the beaech boys package does!
Yep I imagine it did. Pity really!

How about Brazil again?
God knows he'll get back there some time this year too!
I hope so! There are rumours about concerts here in April or May.

To be fair he's always good when he plays there

Paul's 2010/2011 South American concerts were great. I spent a whole day in line (two whole days for a couple of those gigs), and since there are no seats in the soccer fields I got pretty close to the stage every time. In one of the concerts I was actually at the metal grid, and you can see me during the HD broadcast on TV.

Again?
RMartinez:
I read on Maccareport McCartney is doing three shows in Europe in March, and that more dates will be announced soon for Europe in April. I could just as easily say, "AGAIN??" He just did 11 or 12 shows there in November and December. All I meant was it's his choice. He can do that.
Not my point. I meant again Mexican or South-American so called 'confirmed' dates, which never emerges in the end. Just saying. But while on this subject...

Except for this benefit thing at RAH...none of this cities were touched in December.
What WixRocks! said. Or in the almost 10 years before that.

I'm toying w/ that idea as well! Of course, it would mean a show close enough where I didn't have to travel or overnight. As you know only too well Maccascruff, that makes the odds of me actually being able to do it MUCH lower (one can always hope . . .it's been 7 years since he's played closeby!)

I'm going to see how many shows I can feasibly get to, and if that number is one ( ), soundcheck, here I come!

That's mostly true, but evidently with some exceptions (but talking years ago, during the 1993 tour)....and it caused some controversy of sorts...if you bought tickets through his Liverpool school foundation (or whatever it was), you had some special privilages related to the shows...and early on, several groups got to actually meet Paul...but this wasn't stated as one of the benefits and when Paul decided not to do this anymore, subsequent fans who bought these expensive tickets were upset by what they thought was a 'promised' benefit

rich, thanks for the background on the meet and greets. I do recall reading some complaints in the forum around the time the VIP packages came into play (was that in the 2000's?). People seemed pretty upset to be so far back from the stage, etc. The reality is that it's a soundcheck, it's to make sure the band's instruments, tuning, mics, etc. sound good for the concert. It's not a private party for fans. I never got why folks are surprised by this. Anyway, it's good to know some of the history of Paul's VIP experiences.
