Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours

hooter:
there was a rumour that when he hits 70 he may call it a day or scalethings down ,just hope this is not true guys and gals
Paul isn't scaling ANYTHING down...if anything, I think he will only get bigger!

I agree with WixRocks, that rumor has been flying around for as long as Paul's been touring. EVERY tour is 'Maccas last tour' according to someone in the media!

I learned about 15 years ago: Never -- ever -- think you've seen the last of Macca. He is perennial.

Everyone gets old. I wish Macca could gig forever. However, it seems that age 70 MAY be when he calls it a day for major shows and tours. Even now, he does "mini tours" and has left behind the days of doing 20 or 30 city stints. Ten years ago folks would have said, "Paul will keep doing these tours forever!" But he has stopped. These mini-tours will stop at some point, though I am sure we will see McCartney showing up here and there for a show, places like London, New York City, and Los Angeles. But that will be it, I suspect. Oh, and the pub down the road from his house! They may get a show now and then!

As long as he can stay healthy and play he will. He says he loves it and that's why he's still touring. Correct me if I'm wrong that we have never seen the likes of this, a man pushing 70 who can still fill the biggest arenas and stadiums in the world. He's breaking all new ground. He certainly doesn't seem to be getting older except in numbers. If anything his energy and stamina has increased, and he's an inspiration to see in concert.

Completely agree with you, beatlesfanrandy ... I can't think of anybody pushing 70 that is filling out stadiums & arenas the way our Macca does xxx

Ok, if you all say so. I guess McCrtney will tour for 100 more years.

So ... I'm the only one who wants him to stop touring in 2012 and GET INTO A STUDIO to record a new album of original material?

I tink you're in a minority Seriously though, he seems to be able to devide his time up perfectly. I have no doubt that he can and does clock up MANY hours in he studio between tours and whatever else he has going on.

I think McCartney is working on a rock album, and an album of standards, so he does record. Given a choice, I would rather see him live, he ROCKS! However, I cannot travel to any of the concerts, so it is a moot point.

He has said himself he will keep going until he's not able...so far he's been able...and he admits he loves it. and he's a workaholic too, just look at his history.

And I doubt the rest of us look younger than we did 15 years ago. I know I don't! More power to you, Paulie.
