Fans on stage

Again, if it's an actual cool thing, I'm good with it: Like the little girl who played bass on "Get Back" or the dudes who made the Abbey Road replica and got Paul to pose barefoot with them for a picture. At the very least, the audience was still being entertained.
WOW! When did that happen? I'd love to see a pic of that
It was on 17th May in Argentina: http://wzlx.cbslocal.com/2016/05/18/watch-10-year-old-leila-jam-with-paul-mccartney-to-get-back/
I think they meant the other thing - Paul posing barefoot, and I would love to see the pic too.

At least the barefoot pose was at a soundcheck. During the show, my least favorite part has always been when people from the audience get up on stage. And I don't believe Paul has anything to do with picking them; it's done by his "people" out in the audience. (Maybe once in a great while Paul has something to do with it, but I doubt it.)

Elton did call a young kid on stage at a show I saw. It wasn't in Vegas. This kid was about 8 and knew the words to every song. Elton loves kids and noticed him. People in the audience had put the kid on their shoulders. During I'm Still Standing, Elton grabbed the kid and pulled him on stage. Kid loved it and Elton seemed to truly enjoy it. No sign, just enthusiasm. Turns out the parents were several rows behind and adults had let the kid keep moving towards the front. Kid even got to sit at the piano with Elton and sing. It was fun to watch. I've seen Elton a few times and only seen fans on stage at the Vegas show other than this time.
Nice story...and yet something slightly disturbing about that second paragraph.
Yeah, some parents use their kids as "bait." Parents at Springsteen shows will try and get their kids moved up towards the stage in the GA pit so that Bruce will choose *their* child for the singalong during one particular song where he always pulls a kid on stage. Of course the parents always try to shove their way up close, also. : As to Paul's shows, the fans on stage can be funny or tedious, depending on who is up there and what they are asking Paul for (hug/signature/marriage/etc.). I think people look at it as their only chance to meet Paul, so they pour a lot of energy and hope into their signs and requests.

It has now become a competition, which has taken any fun out of it. The Elton show was all in good taste. The parents had bought tickets at the last minute and people were excited by this kid's knowledge of all of Elton's songs. So was Elton and it was the cutest thing I have ever personally seen on stage. The mom posted on FB to find a video of it and she finally did. Elton also sold a cd of that show. You picked up a flash drive with 7 or 8 songs and by morning the rest were available to download. I paid for the physical CD and it arrived in about a week.

NO kids (with or without mom, dad, siblings, aunt, uncle, cousin etc.) NO "sign my < insert body part >" NO proposals NO mock weddings IF Paul insists on bringing someone up on stage, then bring someone up that has been an avid fan of Paul for over 50 years, just wants to shake his hand or hug him, and I will then cheer for them enthusiastically.

Thank you! Yes, I meant the Abbey Road pic with him. I found it: Soundcheck Verona. A bit odd :

Too funny!! I presume he wasn't singing "Don't let the son go down on me"

What's wrong with brining younger people up on stage? Not our fault we were born later - if anything we had to put more effort it to learn his back catalogue! #TeamMillenials (for the avoidance of doubt, my use of a "hash tag" here is entirely ironic)

It's a drag on the show, and not rock n roll. At all. He may as well play Mary Had A Little Lamb while he's at it.

Oh yes, I completely agree with that and don't like anyone being invited up on stage. Watching the proposal in Liverpool was rubbish! I was replying to the folks who are saying he should bring an older fan up if he's going to bring anyone up. I don't agree with that sentiment.

I am pro old person, pro young person, pro cute little kid, even pro ugly little kid. I just don't think a rock concert is the setting for these things. Do it backstage before the show. Or after. Or at sound check, where someone has paid thousands of dollars to be there and can get their money's worth.

Well put.

In all seriousness, he should play it!

Nobody on the concert stage but Paul and his band. Save for a guest artist, nobody else should be on that stage! Nobody.

I remember it very clearly. The song was I'm Still Standing and the kid was wearing Elton glasses like Elton used to wear back in the day!
