Disc 1 (the 70's) of 5 CD Macca Post Beatles' Anthology called "Sticking Out of My Pocket"

B J, you wrote 2000-2020, but don't you mean 2000-2010?

Thanks Nancy R. Definitely I meant 2010. Only 2-3 of them were on Pure McCartney.

I had to stop because I'm talking about 1 CD. It does show you just how many great songs Paul wrote in this latter period era for Paul. I tried to not repeat Chaos and MAF songs from the Pure McCartney Compilation. Following the Pure McCartney criteria, you could cut a couple of my choices above...e.g. Only Mama Knows and Too Much Rain. This list just shows how good a McCartney Post Beatles Anthology by Decade could be. Just keep in mind, I'm only basically using the Internet for my research. Just think about how many surprises might be in Paul/EMI vaults. Again, I'm talking about an Anthology in a couple of years (e.g. 2022 when Paul turns 80). Let me know what you think about this type of disc for the 2000-2010 Decade.
I'm glad that Nancy caught my first line mistake above. Yes it was a typo and the list above would be a 2000-2010 tracklist for that Decade.
I think that the people who really looked at the last 2 tracklists I've presented (the 90's and 2000-2010), it would be obvious that the majority of these relatively unknown Solo Paul songs are not just throw aways. The quality of the writing and performances are still at a very high level. They are just more unknown because Paul stopped getting radio airplay. At least I believe that this is the case from the large majority of true fans on this Site. These tracklists are not the hits, the commercialized or the songs that the record company was pushing at the time his albums were released and the same songs on the previous Paul McCartney Compilations. They are the deeper cuts, the B-Sides, the unreleased etc.etc.
My gut feel is that Paul will only be actively touring (like he has over the last 10 years) for another year or two. I think at that point, this type of Anthology will be viable because as I said, the songs are there in all his Catalogue vaults. The purpose for me starting this type of thread was to give fans an idea of just how good a "true" type of Paul McCartney Anthology could be with some effort. He has never stopped writing or performing music since the Beatles broke up in 1970.
Anyway, I only have one more decade left and it is obviously the decade we just left. My wife will be happy when I finish this. Thanks

IMO you nailed it, great tracklist. I am glad I got you to like "About You", it really rocks and would have been great live. I also like it that you include "Dance Til We're High" from EA and "Summer of 59".

Thanks Yankeefan. I'm probably missing a song or two, but it is quite good even if I do say so myself. I remember Rusty Anderson talking about a Paul unreleased song they were doing during the Driving Rain sessions that he loved. And then there's the Paul song during the "Kisses" sessions that Diana Kroll liked so much that she recorded on her last album. Those are the kind of songs that could possibly be included on an Anthology that would make it even more in demand. I think that Paul's songwriting since the 2000's has been so underrated and hopefully is the reason why a McCartney Solo Anthology will be so needed in a couple of years. Thanks again for reading although there doesn't seem to be much interest at least on Maccaboard.

Don't worry about interest BJ, sadly most of this board is mainly concerned with his touring or anything Beatle related. I am glad there are a few of us that are really into McCartney's entire career as an artist and not just Beatle Paul and leader of Wings. I appreciate you doing this because you bring up songs I forgot about or did not even know. Heck, if not for your threads I probably would not be on this board at all - lol.

I have been forwarding your lists to a friend of mine who is not a Boardie but is very into his solo career. She has been enjoying them. She is a 2nd generation fan who is 12 years younger than me. (she's 52)

Thanks Yankeefan. There were quite a few songs that made my Decade lists because you got me into them as well. Let's hope we get a really good Anthology at some point. My 2010-2020 will be done in a couple of days.

Now I'm finally at the 2010's Decade. Similar to his other Post Beatles Decades, Paul never stopped working and writing great new music.
He released 2 terrific Original Albums in the 2010's...New in 2013 and Egypt Station in 2018. And while a completely different Genre than his Run Devil Run rock & roll Covers album in 1999, Paul released an American Standards "Covers" album in 2012 called "Kisses on the Bottom". While it took a little while to grow on me, I got to really like the "Kisses" album. I especially like certain covers by Paul when he makes them his "own" based on his style musically and vocally. As I loved cover songs on Run Devil Run like No Other Baby, Lonesome Town and Brown Eyed Handsome Man...I equally loved "Kisses" covers like More I Cannot Wish You, Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive and Get Yourself Another Fool. Like on Run Devil Run, Paul also wrote a couple of great originals on "Kisses" written in the same genre.
Here goes:
2010's Disc for a Paul McCartney Anthology
1. I Want to Come Home (Paul song written for the movie Everybody's Fine)
2. My Valentine (Original Paul song from his 2012 Album "Kisses on the Bottom"; pick the best live track)
3. Only Our Hearts (Another original Paul song from "Kisses"; great vocal by Paul and a great harmonica vocal by Stevie Wonder. Started hearing it on Spotify's "this is Paul McCartney channel and absolutely love it.
4. I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter - I have a soft spot for this "Kisses" cover since I remember My Mother and her big Irish family singing this during their Sunday get togethers.
5. More I Cannot Wish For - another great cover from Kisses and one of my favorites on the album; great song and lyrics (originally from Guys and Dolls) . For anyone who has a Daughter, this is a tear maker.
6. Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive - cover from Kisses and I love Paul's vocal on it. He makes it his own imo
7. Get Yourself Another Fool - great bluesy soulful cover from Kisses; another great vocal from Paul and guitar from Eric Clapton
8. New - terrific title cut from Paul's "NEW" album released in 2013. Pick the best "live" version
9. Early Days - my personal favorite song on "NEW".
10. Queenie Eye - great track on "NEW"
11. Alligator - great underrated track on "NEW"
12. I Can Bet - best under publicized song on "NEW"
13. Scared - the "hidden" track on "NEW" and one of his best ballads of the 2000's.
14. Appreciate - this one is for Nancy R and one of the best "deep" tracks from NEW
15. Hope For the Future - great single Paul released in 2014
16. I Don't Know - first single Paul released from his new album "Egypt Station" in 2018.
17. Happy With You - great deeper cut from Egypt Station
18. Confidante - another great deep cut from ES
19. People Want Peace - great under publicized song on ES
20. Hand in Hand - best love song on ES
21. Dominoes - one of my favorites on ES
22. Do It Now - Paul wrote this from an expresson his father always said
23. Get Started - best bonus song on ES
24. Home Tonight - good song from the ES sessions and not on album
25. In a Hurry - another even better song from the ES sessions not on album

Agree 100% Kestrel. I loved your post about finding the Egypt Station Traveller's Edition for $5.95. Wished I could find a record store in the US for anything close to that price.
Anyway, since this Post is about a future Paul Anthology By Decade with deeper cuts etc. please let me know what you think about the songs on Egypt Statio 2 like Frank Sinatra's Party, Sixty Second Street, Get Enough, Get Started and Nothing for Free. Thanks

B J, it was £5.99 I believe which is $7.85.

I am sorry but I never was a big fan of "Kisses", just not the type of jazz I like. Dave Matthews band and Pat Metheny play the type of jazz I like better than the songs on "Kisses. My old time favorite is George Benson and we used one of his songs for our first dance at our wedding. I like the other songs on the list with exception of "Queenie Eye" which I never really liked. Just curious which decade list you and Nancy like the best. If I had to pick one, it would probably be the 2000-2010 one.

I actually hate jazz, but liked Paul's Kisses album. When I was little in the late '50s, early '60s my mom and dad would play a lot of the originals (78 records - who remembers those?!) I was especially familiar with "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter," so I immediately "got" the "Kisses On The Bottom" title.
I never liked "Queenie Eye" either! Love "I Can Bet," "Save Us" and of course "Appreciate!" And "New" as well.
However, my favorite decade is the '70s!! For me, nothing besides the Beatles can beat those years! I was never really bowled over by any of his later albums until Flaming Pie in 1997. I liked them, just couldn't say I loved them. Certain songs were great, but I'm speaking of the albums as a whole.
