Mixed emotions at the same time

There are things that make you happy and sad seemingly at the same time. Or good and bad, high and low etc...
While this virus is going on, I have enjoyed some days staying home. Then I find myself at home, but cannot do some of the getting out things such as going to a restaurant, concert. sporting event and traveling somewhere, I want to be called back, but do enjoy some time away.
*It does not all have to be virus related of course.
I got the okay to return to work for a handful of days. I was glad to be back and see familar people under the masks, but it was strange to stay within the guidelines of distancing and cleaning and trying to get the work done. A small group of people where there used to be many.
On my way to work (Hey it sounds like a song), I saw two long neck ducks or swan type of birds standing close on the yellow lines of a divided road, all cars were going slow and wide . When I drove closer, the ducks were closely surrounding their babies, but in the center of the road. It was touching to see, but I hoped they found their way across without getting hurt or killed. I had hoped all drivers were cautious as they were when I drove past.
It can be one thing from you, I just started it off with one and one and one (is three)....

I'm sad about all the new people coming into our parks without facemasks But it is fun to see all the new dogs there.

The pandemic is a horrible scourge, and yet it's greatly reduced air pollution, it appears. And thinking about the pandemic greatly reduces my appetite. Which is a good thing. Also the scourge makes one reflect on what's really important in the short time we all have on this gorgeous planet. It makes one appreciate the golden seconds of time and life that one still has. It makes you feel and fear for others and have more compassion and concern for others.

The Pandemic is using my favorite phrase' We're All In this TOGETHER. It made us stop and think about everyone in the world and how we can help and show love to each other as people of Planet Earth!

* While I don't like the virus and what is happening...
The humor, jokes, memes, visuals, entertainment and goofy things displayed does show the human element of humor with a bad thing going on ...
A grin or quick laugh is many times needed.

REALLY enjoying the music from musicians and even friends who play, have been making regular play nights. Air hugs and air kisses to all, for their wonderful music and a chance for us to forget about troubles, while the music carries us away from it all.

Abbey Road On The River annual Beatles/'60s festival was cancelled this weekend, but a bunch of the bands have made videos or live streams on AROTR's Facebook page. They all have "tip jars" and I have donated to several of them through PayPal. They hope to have the festival Oct. 8-11, 2020. I made reservations at the hotel there by the park for Lady Leslie and me which I can cancel if necessary with no penalty.

I've always been a greaseball. I'd wash my hair and three hours later it would get so oily people would ask, "Is it raining outside?" At one point I got perms to dry it out and got too many perms with the result I need to wear wigs to appear to have thick hair. At least I can feel like a "new" and different person and have red or blonde hair. So there's a good aspect to that. Another silver lining to being greasy is I have relatively few lines in my face, from the natural moisturizing, LOL, and look younger than I am.

Flash forward to an older man holding up his index finger with an ever so slight shaking as he says to the socially distanced children ....
Back in my day we used to hug, shake hands, huddle in football, go to concerts and sporting events with thousands of people there - sitting inches apart... go out to restaurants and bars, have parties, family gatherings, friends, we played close, kissed as a greeting and kissed a loved one more... we walked around without masks, unless one was needed for work or something ... mixed it all up with groups of people ... and woke up the next day ready to casually go about the day as it came and it was .... it was.... it was good....
The children listened closely, but could not really put themselves in this thought ... or really understand it at all...
The teacher thanked the guest speaker and gave him the "all clear" signal to walk down the hallway and back to yesterday...

I know those masks mean well...but sometimes I get pissed off about having to wear one and that things have come to this .... where it is masks, circles to stand on, arrows, exits, weird hinge things on doors, hand sanitizer pump bottles and some kind of Clorox or Lysol wipes in plain sight, waiting in a parking lot until it is time to go into a place trying to be open,,, getting permission to enter my workplace,,, it is just the way it is ... and I don't like this new normal ....just a vent ... that it all turned into this....

I know what you mean, unfortunately this may be the new normal for some time.

Mixed emotions???
Sympathy for the man in Minneapolis, George Floyd. He did not deserve to die. For nothing.
Sympathy for all the stores & businesses that have not recovered from the covide crisis & now have been broken into & damaged & looted. Buildings burned to the ground. Cars torched. The protesters walking around with garbage bags full of stolen items. WTH.
Looting & vandalism does not solve anything people. Isn't it scary enough out there?

As a guess ... because of people protesting and not doing any kind of social distancing ... at least not in the news footages ...
Is there going to be a spike in the virus stuff in the protest areas in the next few weeks?
That would be multiple cities (multiple States).
I can understand why the protesting, but do not like some of the methods... and don't know if they work as intended?

Totally agree! My friend in L.A. said they have a 6 pm curfew there! Atlanta's is 9 pm.

I was referring to the photo of the protesters (and looters) out there with no social distancing, many with no masks. Darwin's Theory of Evolution is the survival of the fittest. Therefore, some of them will get Covid-19 and some will die. My remark had nothing to do with the a-hole cop who murdered an innocent man. Yes, it is totally inexcusable and I would have charged him with 2nd degree murder, not 3rd/Manslaughter!
