£33-35 seems a bit steep for a single LP no ?

Is that how much they're charging in the U.K.?! They are averaging $29.99 here which is £23. Amazon is $26.49.

Yeah so far everywhere in the Uk is between 33-35 ( that I've seen ) Nancy
id be expecting a double album for that ..

I hope there's a whole lot of songs on it ! As many or more as on Egypt Station The new album's cover looks rather plain and unadorned to me with just the dice on it though I suppose it's kind of artsy and striking. I loved the fancy "New" album cover in red, pink and gold and Egypt Station's cover art features so much to look at, so much of Paul's original art, a plethora, so much variety.

As the old saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover.......or an album too.

I've just had a thought - can anybody confirm if McCartney 3 is a double or single vinyl ? If it's double I'm ok paying £34 .

I believe that is a single disc.

To be honest , if thats true that's a scandalous price for a single LP . He's my all time musical hero , but I think I'll need to be strong and boycot this . I need to be sensible and just get the CD.

I had a look in HMV this morning and just as a rough guide, the Wings Greatest single vinyl lp was £27.99 (approx $36), most of the latest single albums by other artists are roughly around the £29.99 mark. As a rough comparison, it seems that vinyl albums are twice the price of their CD counterparts.

McCartney 3 is a further £7 on top of that . I got a brand new Decca 60's beat scene double album for £28 on record store day . Using Amazon , I can't remember the last time ( if ever ) that i spent as much as £20 on a single brand new LP . I often find them to be between £11 and £17 - and thats with free delivery !

That's what I was thinking too. That is indeed closer to the price I'd expect to pay for a double vinyl album. By contrast, Sting has just announced a new compilation of duets (which, astonishingly enough, is entitled 'Duets'), and there is a double vinyl edition of it which is available to pre-order for £21.99 from udiscover. A full £10 less and it's a double album!
With that being said, I have gone ahead and ordered the black vinyl edition of McCartney III regardless.I haven't ordered any of the other vinyl editions as I generally don't bother with coloured vinyl, largely because it is unlikely I'll ever play them anyway. As much as I love my vinyl, I don't want to needlessly buy four or five versions of the same album, especially when they all have the same musical content! Standard CD and vinyl does the job for me.

Personally I would go for the cd release and then pick up the record in six months time in a sale. Not that I would bother with records. I have a few hundred of them in a cupboard (including all my Beatles and solo-Beatles related records up to about 1987) which I haven't played in thirty years. I've no plans to add to them.
