So...did the Fabs start the "sensitive singer/songwriter lyrics" in their songs as they originated other novelties that "changed the world" also in the world of music? Being the world's first super group and all.  Did Lennon's lyrics, especially, in "Help!" ? (And Paul's in "Yesterday.")  One suspects going through and parsing the lyrics of other early sixties bands, you'd find similar personal outpourings in some of their work.  Self-expression revealing things about themselves. Yes?

The Beatles, though, made the biggest splash, by far.  They were the most popular, the most famous of all, of course.

Lennon's early goody "I'm a Loser" also has that "Help!" confessional feel, doesn't it?

"You like me too much" is not possessive and creepy !  It's one of my favourite tracks - light, breezy, tuneful and fun. I really don't think you can read too much into some of the lyrics, because at that time they were all into certain, err, substances. John always wore his heart on his sleeve though, that's obvious.
