Never say never but do remember that in July Paul joined Bruce on stage for a couple of songs at Bruce's concert in London where the City literally pulled the plug on them mid song by cutting off the power because it was an outdoor concert and they were past their curfew. As for Paul being in town for Bruce's concert, given the choice between an extra night in Vancouver or an extra night in Edmonton in late November,hmmmmmmm...............
Oh I remember July at Hard Rock Calling quite well! . (BTW if you watch the broadcast of the performance, you can see that the stage power stayed on, it was only the audience PA that got cut off, which is why they actually did finish the song but didn't realize until the end that nobody in the crowd could hear them. ) But to me it's just wishful thinking. Paul is less likely to bring up a special guest than Bruce is. Also, they have played shows in the same city on back-to-back nights before, with no appearances. Altho, yes, that was before they became "BFFs" this year. So I just don't want to have any expectations of either one of them appearing at the other's show. I'm just going to enjoy each show for what it is, a great Paul gig and a great Bruce gig.

I was thinking more in terms of Paul joining Bruce on stage on Monday. To me it's not wishful thinking. I would definitely NOT want to see Bruce join Paul on stage at BC Place. I saw Bruce in concert back in the 80's during his "Born in the USA" tour and it was a great concert that I'm glad I attended, but I have no desire to see him again, especially since Clarence Clemons is no longer with him. Bruce is a great artist but he's in a different league than Sir Paul.

Agree that you cannot compare the two, they have very different performing styles. I am huge fans of both, have seen them both live tons of times, and so would love to see both of them together on the same stage but am just not going to hold my breath waiting for it to happen. And btw you should check out Bruce live again, his shows right now are consistently strong, Clarence's nephew Jake is doing a great job of helping to ease the huge loss of the Big Man, and the 80's was a long time ago.

Hi, sorry I'm posting this on this thread, but I figured people going to Vancouver might have friends that are looking for tickets. I also posted this on the ticket thread.... I have 1 extra ticket on the floor section A2 row 7 for Vancouver I'm selling face value (plus my charges for fees and postage.) If anyone is interested let me know. I have been a member for a loooong time, but had to register again to be able to post this. I don't really post much normally. If you are worried about scams we can talk on phone or even skype - and I'll show you the ticket too. You may even know me. I've been to many shows. Email me if you are interested.

I am surprised I really believed he was going to add a show, I think it would easily sell out.
It's not really all that surprising when you consider the following: 1) Edmonton has two shows but they're arena shows while Vancouver is a stadium show. There will probably be more people at B.C.Place than at the two Edmonton concerts combined. 2) The Vancouver concert is Sunday and the first Edmonton concert is Wednesday. That doesn't leave a lot of time to tear down, transport and set up again since the mountain passes can be quite treacherous at that time of year. 3) Springsteen is performing next door at Roger's Arena the following night (Monday). That would pose a logistical nightmare if both were to perfom next door to each other simultaneously. That being said Yes it would be awesome if there was a second Vancouver show added.
I think you're right on here, pmcanuck. I've never attempted the pass during the winter. The highway closes quite a bit unannounced and so does Highway 93 from Jasper to Banff during that time of year as well, because of a number of reasons... but the pass is still scarier. If the highway closes, they will need the extra time to try to get the stuff there, so it was nice of Paul and Co. to give Rexall another show -- I lucked out on the first show, though, so I was happy for my friends that if they didn't get could get then, they could try again.
They will be prepared for that, they wouldn't have the shows scheduled if they didn't think they'd be able to make it from Vancouver to Edmonton.
Very true, but as people don't drive out there often on the roads that are deciding to road trip it instead of flying, I would recommend flying it if someone here is planning the road trip of sorts. Especially if you're doing Edmonton - Vancouver - Edmonton... But, you're right, they wouldn't do it unless they were prep'd for it. They've got a few days between dates for it and it's about 15 -17 (?) hour drive from Vancouver to Edmonton. I haven't drove out to Vancouver in years, but Whistler was about 17 hours, and not during the winter. Yeah.

One month to go!!! Anyone heard anything about/received their Crowdsurge tickets yet?
-
Yes, my crowdsurge tickets arrived today!!! Did not get any email notification that they were sent, just that they were in the mail when I got home today. Priority post, but no signature required is what I had selected.
-
Yes! My sister's tickets for the Vancouver show also arrived from CrowdSurge yesterday. And she didn't get any notification beforehand of the impending ticket delivery either. But she's got her tickets in hand now and she can hardly wait for the concert date!

7.7 Earthquake just hit near Vancouver!!
One earthquake measuring 7.7 hit the Queen Charlotte area at 8:04 p.m., at 8:14 p.m. another quake struck, this time it was smaller at 5.8, according to the US Geographical Survey website. People in Kamloops say their blinds were moving and someone else reported on Facebook that they were at a lake and said it felt like a tree had fallen. A tsunami warning has been issued for the area.

Everything is fine, no injuries or damage reported.

Does Paul usually perform "Mull Of Kintyre" in other Canadian cities or just in Toronto?

He did play Mull of Kintrye in Halifax in 2009. But he's never played it in Montreal in 89, 10, or 11 or at the 400th anniversary of Quebec in 2008. There are a lot of Pipe Bands in BC. http://web.ripnet.com/~nimmos/pipe_bands.html#British Columbia It might be possible.

I think it's very possible. I doubt it will ever get played in Quebec--he must feel it is a song that the French-Canadians won't relate to. But Vancouver, being in British Columbia, has a chance. So does Edmonton. I believe that Paul has only ever played it in the UK (mostly Scotland) and Canada, so I think he feels that only UK/Scottish/Canadian fans can relate to it, for some reason. I have seen Mull about 5 or 6 times, and all of those performances have been in either Scotland or Toronto.

He performed "Mull Of Kintyre" in Australia in 1993. Maybe in New Zealand as well?
