Just saw this on the Paul McCartney Facebook page. Good news! "Pre-sales tickets for the Los Angeles gig and previously announced show in San Francisco will be available from www.PaulMcCartney.com at 9am (local / 5pm BST) on Tuesday 29th April. To be eligible to purchase tickets fans must be registered with the site by 5am (PDT / 1pm BST)."
ok is this UK time or US time?
Hi McCartney, The website pre-sale begins at 9AM local (venue) time which is 9AM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time). 9AM PDT is 5PM BST (British Summer Time). Anita
Did you notice that on pm.com it says to register on site by Wednesday, but tix go on sale Tuesday? Can someone confirm the on sale date of Tuesday is correct? "Fans registered with PaulMcCartney.com will be eligible to purchase pre-sale tickets from 9am (local time / 5pm BST) on Tuesday 29th April. To be eligible for this pre-sale fans must be registered with the website by 5am (PDT / 1pm BST) on Wednesday."

I think Candlestick is close to downtown so I'm thinking staying in downtown close to water and just bus/cab to this...
You may want to stay in Burlingame, closer to the airport, and it will be easier to get a cab to the Stick.
Absolutely! Cab ride from near the airport should be faster and cheaper. The 'stick is NOT close to downtown, it's at the far south end of SF. (Geographically, it's actually about in the middle between SFO and downtown, but the drive will be easier from the area around SFO)

Hi, thanks so much for the heads-up, I have sent an alert in regard to the confusion. The pre-sale information announcement at Paul's Facebook page does not include the words "on Wednesday." Anita

I'm already getting nervous about Tuesday morning!

Hi, Just to follow up, at the main site, the pre-sale information announcement typo has been corrected. Apologies are extended for any confusion the typo may have caused. This serves as confirmation that the pre-sale and registration information as presently seen at the main site is correct. Thanks again for the heads-up, very much appreciated! Anita

Hmm...I had done search on internet and it showed about 7 miles apart between downtown and candlestick so thought that would be pretty easy to cab or bus there....or am I missing something?

Really excited about this gig. Been a 49er season ticket holder since the 70s so it will be cool to have one last event there and what an event! Some of my best memories have been in that awful, windy, cold, wonderful park! I'll miss my section 30, row 16, seats 3 & 4!
Hi Beatle Barb, Nice to see you, Harley and the other Nor Cal boardies here 12 years since that Oakland opening night show of the Driving U.S.A. tour in 2002. So many Niners memories at The Stick too, with The Catch heading the list, but also going back to the John Brodie led teams; the Monte Clark coached 1976 season; the 1981, 1984, 1989, 1990, and 1994 Super Bowl Seasons; through to the last three Harbaugh coached years. I go to "the city" frequently. Even though it is about 8 - 10 miles from the Financial District to Candlestick, it will take about a half hour to drive on a good day since there are a lot of city streets to travel on before you get onto the freeway. By bus, you are looking at around a 45 min. to an hour because the bus will make many, many stops along the way, unless Muni adds an express bus like they used to do on game days. Then you will have to walk about a mile to get from the bus stop to the stadium. Hopefully they will keep the buses running late or else fans could be "stuck at the 'Stick."

It wouldn't surprise me if special Muni bus service will be scheduled for the show. This is going to be a big event for San Francisco and the Bay Area.

I really really hope that Paul opens the concert with "Rock & Roll Music"...I love that song...plus it has historic significance: [At Candlestick Park on Aug. 29, 1966] The Beatles ... performed 11 songs: Rock And Roll Music, She?s A Woman, If I Needed Someone, Day Tripper, Baby?s In Black, I Feel Fine, Yesterday, I Wanna Be Your Man, Nowhere Man, Paperback Writer and Long Tall Sally.

It's not the distance, it's that the route from downtown virtually guarantees horrendous traffic. People have speculated about a special Muni express bus, but that's just speculation (and as a San Franciscan, I would never, ever put myself in a position of depending on Muni if there was a way to avoid it). It's doable, but staying close to the airport is almost guaranteed to be easier.

He's got hundreds of great solo/Wings songs he rarely or never performs and you want him to open with a Chuck Berry cover? Uh... okay.

Hi Bruce. Yes, I am aware that Paul has hundreds of solo/Wings songs he rarely or never performs, but I'm thinking more of the nostalgia factor. After all, he is performing at Candlestick. It was just a fleeting thought, not entirely serious. Truthfully, I'll be happy with whatever he opens with. Onward to tix sales on Tuesday. Good luck everyone!
