Triplets Love Paul:
My triplets became increasingly concerned that there is no Philly rumor and thus far, no announcement for New York. The pleading commenced yesterday after school and carried on through this morning's school drop-off time! I am very happy to report that we will see everyone in D.C.!!! Many thanks to the powers that be for making sure that Paul's fans have access to pre-sales and most importantly to our family, with a ticket limit of FOUR rather than two. Triplets LOVE Paul!!!
Excellent! Where will you all be sitting?
We are in section 1, row 10. So happy that you were finally able to obtain the tickets that you desired, congratulations!!! Hope you have a fantastic time!!!
I'm Section 5 Row 10! Would love to meet you guys finally!
Same here, would be a pleasure! All we have to do is walk in a straight line. Congratulations!!! So happy that you were able to obtain tickets later in the afternoon - fantastic!!!

I'm thrilled to be in Floor 5, Row 11, Seat 28 (a row behind WixRocks). Just paid the $255 price and I'm very happy to have gotten that ticket 45 minutes into the fan club pre-sale when it suddenly popped up after the site just having $99 and under tickets coming up. Glad I knew from past ticket ordering that this often happens and even hours later good seats come up, especially if you're just searching for 1. Two hours in I got a Floor 3, row 27 for a friend and she's thrilled. This will be 1 row closer than I was in Miami 2010 and the closest seat I've ever had so still doing the happy dance today. Hope to meet some of you boardies at the show!

How does everyone feel about the ticket prices on this tour? I know some are saying, "c'mon, it's Paul McCartney, just pay the man." Reading this board, I'm feeling a small bit let down that I didn't spring for a VIP package, and kudos to those who can afford it. I'm content with what I have but for perspective, my past tickets: 2005- MCI 5th row floor, dead center $250. 2013 cost - $1,500 2009 - FEDEX Field A1 (far left side stage) $250. 2013 cost - $650 I keep justifying the expense to my wife by noting Paul's not getting any younger and who knows when he'll tour again. How do you feel about the big jump in prices from 2005/2009?
I think they're outrageous and as much as I'd love a great foor seat, I refuse to pay those prices... even for Paul. And I don't mean to offend anybody on this board who does pay them... maybe I'd feel differently if I could afford them but I really can't justify fitting them into my budget. i mean, even Paul's cheap seats are 100+ bucks... last summer I payed 25 dollars for tickets to the Beach Boys 50th show in Camden... the cheapest seats available and they were much better than some of the hundred dollar tickets I've bought for Paul in the past. Several years back, I payed 75 dollars for floor seats to see Billy Joel... 80 bucks for floor seats to see Springsteen. All that said, Paul is a Beatle... half of the greatest songwriting duo the world has ever seen... I get that and that is why I go. Love Paul... he is the absolute BEST... I just feel these 1500-2000 dollar tickets are a bit excessive.
Yeah, I agree with that. I bought two floor seats, which ended up being almost $600 total. We justified it as an anniversary celebration and figured it would probably be about the same as a trip somewhere for our anniversary (assuming we drove there ... if we're talking about flying somewhere for a trip, it's definitely cheaper). MAYBE I could justify the Hot Sound package, since it includes the soundcheck, but I'm not sure I can justify the other VIP packages. And this is nothing against those who buy those packages! That's just my personal comfort level.
I think it is all very overpriced. It took a lot for me to even consider $1,500 for soundcheck this time of course...that didn't work anyway. But even $650 is a lot for what I'm getting on a Gold Ticket. I met all five of the beach boys, went to soundcheck, got merch, and had a 2nd row seat dead center for $375 last year...come on Paul

Very jealous of your Beach Boys experience! Would possibly have sprung for this myself but there were 6 of us going to the concert and there was no way that all 6 of us would have been willing to pay top dollar. We ended up with the cheapest seats (25 bucks!) but in an ampitheater that only seats a few thousand people, you can't even go wrong with the nosebleeds!! There really wasn't a bad seat in the house. I will say that what you got for what you payed... that was a GOOD DEAL!! On a side note, I did meet two of the Beach Boys... Bruce Johnston and Mike Love... eh... Bruce couldn't have been nicer. I was not impressed by Mike. He was everything I've heard about him and then some...

I too, think the "good tickets" are far overpriced. Its a shame that to get within the first 5 rows in the center, you have to pay over $1000 per seat. Figures.. Once I'm finally able to afford the "expensive" seats, or what I would have considered the expensive seats several years ago, ($250) those suddenly become the crummy seats compared to the VIP packages! I understand that you get a sound check, dinner, memorabilia, special entrance, etc, but its unfortunate for the everyday fan who cannot afford to spend that much money on a single ticket. Especially when you are going to the show in packs of 2 or more. That would be over $3000 per couple. There is no way I can justify that in my budget. Every concert, I'm way off to the side or in the back of the floor sections, hoping that close/center non VIP tickets will pop up for the next show I attend, but those tickets seem be be dwindling each tour with more being bundled within the packages With that said, I am very grateful I am still going to see Paul! No experience can replace that of a McCartney concert! But after seeing him 10 times, by now, I would have liked to have at least been within the first 5 rows without having to spend $1500 on a ticket. It's hard not to be disappointed .

I hear ya brother... I hear ya! And guess what... the one and only chance I had to have great seats came during the US Tour in 2005. Tell me this isn't heartbreaking!! We bought nosebleeds to that show and went to the booth to see if any upgrades were available. They told me that 10th row center were but they were 250 bucks each... to my shock, my wife told me go for it!! So I said, sure, we'll take them! Then they took my tickets, looked at them and REFUSED to upgrade us because we had bought the tickets through Paul's official presale and not through the venue!!! There was a code on the ticket that indicated presale... it simply said "US" and we were out of luck! Since then, we just have not been able to afford 250 tickets. Oh well! Every show has still been awesome and we did actually have VERY GOOD upper level seats for the Up & Coming Tour in 2010. We were in the 200 level at Wachovia center but we were right up by the stage and we had first row in our section so those wound up being awesome seats

Agree that just because you CAN charge those prices and get people to buy them because they love you/your music so much, doesn't mean that you SHOULD. Especially in this economy, a price reduction would have been so appreciated. Because the tickets are so expensive, this will be my only show. I just don't like the upper seats anymore because you really can't stand up and rock out with Paul without irritating people who don't want to stand and can't see if others stand. On the floor, most people know that people stand through most if not all of the concert which is more my style. Just can't sit still when Paul and the band are up there rockin'!

I'm a stander and this is a battle in the stands... I must admit... and it's worse the higher up you get. At Yankee Stadium, we bought the cheapest possible seats... just wanted to be in the building. So, we got the 65 dollar tickets and were WAAAAAYYYY up. Well, I honestly didn't mind the distance as much as the crowd around me... UPPPP TIGHT!!! During "Hello Goodbye"... the FIRST SONG... I'm up dancing, looking through my binoculars and singing along and I get a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and these lady says to me and a nasty tone, "Young man, you have those binoculars to see. All I have is a view of your back". Stunned, I said, "Lady, it's the first number!" She gave me this dirty look and said, "Well, I asked you nicely!". Thing is... she didn't!!! It wasn't nice at all. Really put me in a bad mood right out of the gate! Hacks me off just thinking about it! Anyway, I sat down for a bunch of songs and then the show just got too good and I couldn't sit down any longer!!! Thankfully, others in my section finally started to get up during the bigger hit songs.

I was in the stands at Fedex Field, only stood for Drive My Car & the encores and no one had a problem. BUT, in Philly I got yelled at for standing in the first tier. It wasn't just me, but those of us that were closer to the floor were standing as soon as the lights went down, and before the intro to Venus and Mars was over people were screaming behind us to sit down...most folks standing didn't care...I stood thru "All My Loving" and got back on my feet for encores! But the absolute worst with standing was at Yankee Stadium when security FORCED the folks on the field to sit down...and I mean forced. They dragged a man out during "Let Em In" because he refused to sit. Those big men in suits came over with the earpieces....security was absolutely ridiculous that night. Really, the only blemish on the evening...and the subway ride back.

That's ironic because you were at Yankee Stadium the night Billy Joel was there and I know for a fact that NOTHING hacks off Billy Joel more than Stadium Staff/Security keeping an audience from having a good time... he rails on and on about that in interviews. I don't think any rock musician wants the audience sitting and clapping politely for 3 hours...

It was actually stopped by the great Brian Riddle about halfway through the show. I really wish I could see Billy Joel on his own for a full length concert just once. Saw with EJ at Nationals Park in '09 and he was so much better than Elton...and saw him with Paul at Yankee Stadium...breathed a whole new life into "I Saw Her Standing There".

I've seen Billy Joel a few times... in fact the first concert I ever attended was Billy Joel & Elton John at Veteran's Stadium on July 12, 1994... so seeing Macca in DC will be the 19th anniversary of my first concert I've had the chance to see him twice by himself... in 1998 (that concert was amazing!!!) and again in 2006. That show was really good too... he played a lot of deeper tracks in '06, plus his original sax player, Ritchie Cannata was back on tour with him. The last time I saw him was when he joined Paul on stage at Citi Field in 2009. Supposedly, he's talking about playing some shows in major cities this year... doing the "Full album" thing in cities like NYC and Philly!

Looking to commiserate with other fans who weren't able to get anything good through the presale, don't have an AMEX and aren't Nationals season ticket holders. I'll be ordering tomorrow morning with the masses...the only other time I've seen Paul in such a large venue was Veterans Stadium way back in 1990. I prefer the smaller indoor venues, as they just seem more intimate. A stadium experience is totally different...but now I'm thinking rather than springing for 2 $$ tix for my husband and me, I think I may get 4 cheaper seats so we can take the kids (aged 9 and 6). They aren't HUGE Paul fans (yet), but I have a few months to change that...I will start playing all his music and concert DVDs.... I think it's my duty as a parent to have my kids experience seeing a Beatle live in concert, no?

That is really my sole purpose for going to this concert! We got our tickets on Tuesday... the wife and I have seen Paul 4 times and our son is old enough now that I think he'll appreciate it. We took him to see the Beach Boys last summer and, even though he fell asleep before the encore, he had a great time He'll be a year older now and I think it's time he finally sees a Beatle live and in person! And no offense to Ringo (who I love and is great in concert) but if it's only going to be one Beatle... well, it's got to be Macca!!! Also, having a 6 (going on 7 year old) with us, I think I may check out the setlists in advance so I know what songs will be coming up... normally, I don't want to know but I think this will be important for the inevitable bathroom break that my kid will almost certainly need to take during a song I don't want to miss

Hey guys... Does anyone know which way the seat numbers run on the Field Sections? Thanks... N&C

Absolutely! My younger son was 4 when he saw Paul for the first time back in 1990. We haven't missed a (U.S.) tour since then.

Just went on the general sale and couldn't pull anything at the $255 level. Best available was Field 13. Hopefully more will pop us since everyone is trying at once and some tickets will be thrown back. I have my 11th row floor 5 from the fan club pre-sale but was looking for a ticket for a friend. Good luck to all of you trying for tickets today!

I couldn't find any either, and I was on right at 10:02 from 2 different computers. Can't even pull up a single. Trying to upgrade my row 27 seat. I'm short and know I'm going to struggle seeing!
