Can anyone tell me how the seating works? In the stands do the rows start at AA and then go to A? How about the rows on the floor? Any info would be so helpful. Thanks!

Question for those of you that have had main floor seats at any Paul concerts before. I will be on the main floor for the first time in DC. Have any of you experienced other people trying to push their way up to the closer rows? If so, does security make them go back to their own rows? I'm pretty short so this is a worry of mine. I paid for a closer seat so I could experience at least one concert up close and I want to be able to see without rude folks taking over where they aren't supposed to be.
At the FedEx Field show in '09 I had 3rd row center and as the lights dimmed people would rush the stage. Chairs and people were literally flying. Obviously, those of us who paid the big $$$ were getting PO'd. At first security just sat with there thumbs up their bums until one of Paul's people, I assume, came up front and had a few words with whomever must have been the head of security. The show was delayed 10-15 minutes while security then ushered people back to there appropriate seats and order was resumed. This was nothing compared to a show in Paris in 2004 when it seemed like the entire stadium rushed the stage. Thank God I didn't have field tickets for that one. Just another reason I really don't care for floor seating unless it's front row!
I have 7th row and that is what worries me and I really hope security at the ballpark in DC doesn't allow that to happen. I certainly will be complaining about it if people start rushing the stage at the start of the show.

Absolutely hold your ground and sharpen your elbows if it happens...You won't be alone and order will eventually be resumed. But I don't think it will happen as I and a few other boardies have noticed recently, at least at arena shows, the first few rows have been all across with no aisle break or with barrier gates on the aisles separating them from other rows. This is presumably to prevent just such a mad rush.

Thanks bernie1cat, will hold my ground. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of boardies at most of the shows this summer that won't tolerate that!

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hay-Adams? I'm wondering if it's worth a splurge and thinking it might, just might, be as good a place as any for a Paul or band sighting?

At the Fed Ex show, the ushers told us that Paul wanted people by the stage when he came out, and actually encouraged people to go next to the wall. It was only supposed to be for the beginning. Someone complained, so it was back to the seats. Those on the field are going to have a different issue at Nationals Park. I heard for Bruce Springsteen there was only a couple people checking tickets so there was a wait to get onto the field, and some missed the first few songs as a result.

This was a major issue at Elton John/Billy Joel...I was hoping it had been sorted out since the stadium's first concert. : They only had three eisles open to go on to the floor and we stood on the steps leading down for about 15 minutes waiting to get onto the field alone. Then, it was like mass security with our tickets and verifying we belonged on the field and getting wrist bands. It wasn't as bad as Yankee Stadium with PMC, but a not-so distant second. Only difference...they were lax on the pictures!

Thanks for the heads up from both of you. We will plan to get there right when the door open then. Which was the plan anyway, since I'd like to try and listen to soundcheck.

I can't believe Paul or his people would actually encourage fans to push forward. Incredibly unsafe....Surely they know people have actually been trampled and killed at concerts from the crowd surge! If any of Paul's security team are monitoring this board I think we are owed an explanation if they are blatantly putting fans, not to mention potentially Paul and the band, at risk with this practice.

They weren't "pushing forward" from my perspective (stage, far left), but simply standing along the wall. I don't see how they were "putting the band at risk," when the front wall was a good 10 feet, probably more, from the stage itself, and there was plenty of security standing in front of it. The 100 or so fans were standing there lined up, single-file, a good 5-10 minutes before being asked to go back to their seats, so obviously it was not originally discouraged.

All I can say is that from our perspective, 3rd row center, chairs were being thrown out of the way and people where actually launching themselves from seats, leaping over 2-3 rows to get forward. One lady in the row ahead of me actually landed under the weight of a guy who had jumped off a seat 2 rows back. Fortunately she wasn't hurt.

Yikes! This is why some outdoor venues lash the chairs together so they cannot be moved. But yeah, that's awful and security should have stopped it, it's different from people just trying to sneak up into the aisles.

All the chairs for EJ/BJ were linked if that's any condolence. I remember watching that rush from way up in the 300's at fedex field! It looked like chaos! And the whole stadium got quiet because everyone thought Paul was coming...but then we just sat there in darkness as they made everyone go back.

I had section 114, on the field, left of the stage, and the seats were also tied together. Who knows why they didn't do that in the middle field sections.

I remember back when I saw Paul in Salt Lake City we were allowed to move up. The security standing behind the rail said they had instructions that a few songs into the concert anyone with seats in the first 5 rows could move forward. I was fifth row in the center left section so I bolted as soon as security told us we could move. Made it up to be in the front right against the rail for the rest of the night and it was the best concert experience of my life. I made sure to stay where the aisle had been though so I didn't take a spot from someone who paid $2000 to be front row.

I just hope if security allows stuff like this in DC they keep tabs on it all As I said up a bit I'm just worried about others moving and me then not being able to see. This is the first time I've ever been this close at a McCartney concert and I don't want the experience being ruined by tons of folks moving all over and blocking others.

I have two tickets for the DC show. Section 5 Row 3. I would love to trade my two tickets for one ticket closer and/or more center stage.

Hi all! I'm going to one of the Brooklyn shows now instead, as it works better with my summer schedule, and I have a friend who lives there! Wish I could do both DC and Brooklyn this year, but it's just not in the budget! I'm looking to sell my 2 field tickets for DC at face value plus the fees I paid. The tickets are in Field section 3, Row 27. Total price of what I paid: $586 PM me if you are interested! I'd much rather sell them to a fan on the forum before turning to one of the ticket listing sites!
-
I too am going to the Brooklyn show instead of this one, I've got 4 tickets in Field 6, Row 25. I paid $1206 for the four of them and a parking pass, so I'm looking to get $1241 to cover the 2.9% Paypal fees. I can split up the tickets if someone wants just two.
