Just made it across the state line into Illinois--18 hours of driving down, just about 3 more to go. See you all tomorrow! I'm going to try to hit up a few vintage record stores, Blueberry Hills, and the arch prior to the show. If I don't bump into any of your pre-show, I'll be seeing you all post-show at the Hard Rock/Maggie O'Brien's. I'll be the woman with an eyebrow ring and a rolled-up, neon green poster under my arm.
You could spend all day inside "The Record Exchange" on Hampton Ave in St. Louis. I know I do. Here's the link: www.recordexchangestl.com "Vintage Vinyl" is located in the Delmar Loop, only steps away from Blueberry Hill. Here's the link: http://www.vintagevinyl.com/

Vintage Vinyl is where I'm heading, along with Euclid Records. I hit up the Record Exchange in Cleveland, and didn't really like it--too sterile-looking, whatever that means. The vibe was all wrong...

I also recommend for people from out of town to take a drive through Forest Park. Forest Park is beautiful. Here's the link: http://www.forestparkforever.org/ Many things to do in Forest Park. The FREE attraction in Forest Park are: The Saint Louis Zoo The Science Center The Saint Louis Planetarium The Missouri History Museum The Saint Louis Art Museum
I keep finding stuff to do! Everyone just told me there was an ARCH!

This is NOT the same Record Exchange as in Cleveland. The Record Exchange in St. Louis is located at the old St. Louis Public Library on Hampton Ave. Jean Haffner the owner, has one of the largest vinyl record collections in the country. They have a sale going on right now, 25% off everything.

Rod and I just had dinner @ Maggie's. Friendly folks! If you go there, ask for Chelsea (she took our picture )
You should have said hello to the guy in the McCartney in Las Vegas shirt sitting at the bar! :

Double cool. I hate chain record stores...Record Exchange in Cleveland was DEFINITELY that.

Vintage Vinyl is NOTHING compared to the Record Exchange. Go to the RE. You won't regret it.

Nice--I'm glad you guys mentioned RE--I seriously ignored the listing on Google for it based on my experience in Cleveland. Now I'm ready for a big collection of vinyl and a big sale.

All the primo vinyl records are located on the second floor at the Record Exchange in St. Louis.

Just got "official" confirmation that Paul is indeed in St. Louis--one of my FB friends posted a blurry photo of him doing a wave from out of his car as he headed to the Scottrade Center. Band practice, I guess! In any case, I'll see you all tomorrow. I'll be the one at the Record Exchange kicking myself for NEARLY not heading there! I get records with a little help from my friends...
-
I hope Paul arrived in St. Louis in time to enjoy our beautiful weather today..... New record high temp of 81 degrees. Broke the record for Nov. 10 of 79 degrees, set on this date in 1902 and again in 1982. Sunny skies all day.

I'll be the skinny kid wearing the Jimmy McCulloch badge

Here we go! Rollin' up for our Mystery Tour! Flight leaves at 9:30, should be in St. Louis about 10:30...so much to do! We'll be hitting up a lot of the same place you all are...arch, blueberry hill, Vintage Vinyl, Budweiser Tour, the zoo....whatever we can pull off in the afternoon! If the weather holds (and it sounds gorgeous right now!) we'll do limo watch around 4pm. We're staying at The Drury Plaza RIGHT next to the arch! So if ya see the beatle cut black hair, and macca shirts say HEY! I'll be posting any updates I can setlist wise, to facebook during the show....anything totally unexpected or the "split" songs (ex. Hello Goodbye/ MMT) so carry the word over to the board! I'll do a full set when we get back to the room....whenever THAT will be! Gotta go now...it's coming to take us awaaaaay

Hey-- I just want to wish all of you safe travels and a safe stay. Hopefully you all make it to the show on time (I'm sure you will) And please show us some photos! Again-- Enjoy the show. QUESTION FOR MERCHANDISE BUYER-- What do the plastic bags that they give you to put your merchandise in look like? Also, as I've only been to his outdoor shows, how loud are his indoor compared to the outdoor? Again, enjoy St. Louie!!

I've been to a mix of outdoor and indoor Paul/others gigs and indoors does depend on the interior of the venue and where you are seated, i've found the stalls area better for overall sound, as for volume a little louder inside, but not mind numbingly so. Outdoor shows get affected by the weather, the stiller the day the better the sound, wind and it's not so good.
