The US is a generous country. That dude in Argentina would be cleaning toilets at McDonalds.

Yeah! And why are you guys fascinated by guns? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. Not that over here we're living in paradise exactly http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-20821946

I honestly think the whole world has gone mad. And bringing it back around to the thread's topic...this is why we need these types of benefit concerts. Just to help those in need.

I agree, sis! Have a great holiday.

Despite its lack of musical merits, hip-hop artists are the "voice" of urban America -- in terms of lyrical content. It is the only genre where almost every artist writes his own lyrics. It is a must. Ironically, 75% of all U.S. hip-hop consumers are white males.

The 12/12/12 Concert album is currently #1 on iTunes.
Wish you could purchase the individual songs but glad the proceeds are going to the Robin Hood Relief Fund

I never understood the fascination with a guy talking over a computarized looped beat, but then again, I'm not from the US nor is English my first language. I assume if you understand what they're rapping about it might make sense even though there's barely any melody to be found?
Lol, you are aware of the fact you sound just like the parents of 40's/50's babies now? "Rock and roll, it's just noise!" Thinking all hiphop/rap sounds like

What's with the pic? You can show me a pic of Elvis with Hitler and I'm not going to like Hitler because of it. Re the video, it got boring after 2 minutes. Think of this: If you wouldn't speak a word of English would you actually like this or listen to a whole CD of this or would you throw it out the window after 5 minutes? Where's the fun in listening to a guy talking in a language you don't understand?

Kind of symphonic hip hop.

Let me remind the first hip hop hit.

Sorry, this will never be my cup of tea!

21st Century Paul:
Let me remind the first hip hop hit.
and the secondTechnically, John is "rapping" on that song, but it is not hip-hop. Freddie Mercury's vocal on "We Will Rock You" has a melody; therefore, he is not rapping...besides...it is absolutely pre-dated by spoken-word and other proto-hip-hop artists like Gil Scot-Heron in the 1960s.
-
Is this hip hop as well?

The revolution will not be televised on the forum, apparently.
