You had never heard of Taylor Swift?! 🤯
I'd heard the name (or have seen the name) Taylor Swift but thought it was a guy, probably because I'd worked a few years ago with a guy called Taylor. Its obviously a name that can be used by either sex. But I hadn't heard any music by Taylor Swift, mainly because I'm not interested in chart music or listening to the radio. I would have been very surprised if you had heard of Polly Scattergood. She's not really that well known, even in the UK.
I thought you would have seen the big brouhaha with her and Kanye West coming up on stage at the 2009 VMA Awards. P.S. I don't listen to the radio or any current music either but I see stuff online or on TV. (Like on Entertainment Tonight)

So did anybody else think 13 was referring to the HOME EP which started streaming on the 13th?

There really should be a drinking game when reading or listening to a McCartney interview. Any time he mentions the Beatles or any one of them individually, you have to drink a shot -lol
It would be a short game, we'd be paralytic within five minutes !!

Nah, I didn't know anything about that. But at least I've heard of Kanye West....and he's a bloke.

Unless the HOME EP is taken from McCartney lll album then no.

Taylor Swift’s favorite number is 13 and it was Friday the 13.

But the (13) dice links to McCartney lll....and Taylor Swift has nothing to do with McCartney lll? I'm beginning to get a bit irritated by these stupid publicity / media posts from MPL/Capitol Records. Paul wants to stop mucking about, release a single and then release the album.

I envy ayone who hasn't heard of Taylor Swift. She is so pervasive, it would almost take a miracle to miss her.

At the tiime, I thought Kanye was the biggest jerk ever...protesting Swift winning over Beyonce...and snatching away the award from her hands. Now? I'm sort of thinking she had it coming!! Or does now.

No way did ANYONE deserve what Kanye did. What a jerk.

Adele? I assume she must have sold a lot of records in the US then? I have no idea how well known British artists are in the US I'm afraid or how well known US artists are in the UK?

It depends on the artist. People like Adele or Taylor Swift are international stars and I can't imagine anybody not knowing them. Of course, there are artists that are popular in a country but have not achieved world wide fame. Think of the Beatles in the early 60's before they came to America. For example, I love Lucy Jones who was in "Waitress" on the West End because I love theater plus I remember seeing clips of her on "X Factor".

I agree. That was a real a-hole move.

That's (kind of ) true, although I didn't know Taylor Swift, despite apparently being an international star.
I've never heard of Lucy Jones either. Sorry. The only American act I like (I have all their albums) are Au Revoir Simone, who are popular although probably not hugely popular. Have you heard of them at all?

FYI - Lucie Jones is from the UK. I believe she is Welsh. I am sorry I spelled her first name differently. Yes I have heard of "Au Revoir Simone,", they have been around awhile. I have to check but I believe I have bought a couple of their songs on ITUNES.

I think you can probably tell by now that I'm not very hip to who's hot and who's not. Forty odd years ago the charts were my life and I knew everything about everyone making music. Now, I haven't really a clue as to who is popular or who is famous etc. Every now and again on the news there will be a report of such an such a band who have broken up after having had twenty hit singles and five #1 albums.......and I've never even heard of them. I will check out Lucie Jones and I'm glad you've heard of Au Revoir Simone. Given how big the US is, they must be a lot more popular than I thought.

That is ok Kestrel, I have no idea who is hot on the charts today for the most part. Most of the time it is some rap/hip hop artist and while I will recognize a few names, most of them I have no idea who they are -lol. I checked my ITUNES collection and I have two songs from "Au Revoir Simone" which are called "Lark" and "Stay Golden". I will admit I need to go back and listen to them again and thanks for sparking my interest in them.

Mustn't go off topic really but I must quickly say that Stay Golden is a beautiful song and that Still Night,Still Light is my favourite album. Its chockful of great tunes and performances.
Now back on topic...............where is that single?

My guess is that there might not be a single. You would think with less than a month before release there would have been one by now if they were going to have one.
